Show and Tell Doll Quilt

Show and Tell Dolls quilt This started out as a commercial pattern, for a fairly simple appliqued doll quilt. All facing the same direction, no arms loose, no booted feet free to kick, no laces, ribbons, yarn hair, buttons, bows, felt eyes, little things for the girls to hold, or different skin tones.

That was too easy.

I think I have African girls, Asian girls, Polynesian girls (they tend to have flower leis around their necks),  Czechoslovakian girls, Hindustani girls, Irish girls, American Indian girls and possibly even a Swedish girl. Who do you see?

I couldn't focus well enough to show it, but each girl holds a button that is something she's brought to school to talk about, all things they think are special. There are animals and teddy bears, toy boats and flowers, etc.

There are three bad things about this quilt. It's uncomfortable to sit on because of all the buttons, and would be difficult for wash for the same reason, and it's so pretty mom doesn't want to use it and chance hurting it. Sigh... oh well, at least people can see it now.
