Amber rabbit
Years ago mom bought amber jewelry at some place in the islands and they gave her a piece of 'raw' amber that I carved into a lop-ear rabbit. It's one inch long. My 'knife' was a nail file, and I smoothed it with perfume (amber melts slightly when exposed to alcohol.). The dark areas that seem to be eyes are serendipitous markings in the amber.

It was an odd-shaped lump, and I tried to preserve as much as possible, which is why one ear flops forward and the other goes back, and the rabbit has the left front paw up as if he's been washing his face. Amber was lovely to carve. I love the 'glow' of light passing through it.

I'm holding it here. This will give a better idea of its size.
