Raspberry Sherbet Quilt
|
This quilt was made in July of 1991. The quilt blocks are 9-Patch. I bought enough raspberry pink material to fill in the front and make the backing, only I changed my mind about the setting and put the blocks 'on point' which made the front enough larger that I ran out of the raspberry pink fabric for the back. So I randomly pieced leftover squares and added them to the backing fabric. The following photo shows a little more than half of the back of the quilt, so you can see what happened. I think it's actually prettier than the plain solid color would have been. |

I've deliberately distorted the colors on this photo so you can clearly see
the quilting on the back. This quilting pattern is called Norweigian Spoon.Combining the raspberry color fabric with the spoon, I decided to name this quilt Raspberry Sherbet. I still have this quilt. I keep it for guest use in case we get a chilly night... all right, it doesn't happen all that often in South Florida, but it does sometimes, and when it does, I am prepared. |
