Dr. Who and Spock in the shower together.
This photo was taken in July of 1990. I hope it isn't too shocking, showing Dr. Who and Mr. Spock both hanging out in the shower.
Luke Skywalker Luke Skywalker sock doll, photo taken in July of 1980. Polaroid photos aren't much good for small objects.
He seemed of historical interest, although he was far from the first sock doll I ever made. I think the first one was Evel Knieval, because I didn't know how to do it, and put his legs on so badly he looked like he'd been in a terrible accident. I bought him a little plastic motorcycle to complete the image.
Two sockdoll boys
Photo taken probably in December of 1999 of these 2 sock doll boys. Their sweaters are made from a cut-down one I bought at the thrift store.
Two sock doll boys I wonder if there are any photos of the sock monkeys I made once upon a time? I put velcro on their hands and paws so they could 'climb'.
Sock doll girls and Don Terry
These sock dolls were made in 1993, in sets of twins. All their clothes are recycled sweaters.
In the background Don Terry protects them. He was made of royal blue and burgundy velvets, recycled from clothing my aunt had given me.
Leela the cat with Doctor Who
This photo was taken in July of 1986. Leela the cat liked to sleep with Dr. Who. Mr. Spock is in the background. The bedspread was crocheted in one gigantic granny square. The pattern was called 'confetti'.
Mom made these Raggedy dolls
Mom made these Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls during the 1970's. Celery & avocado green were popular then, which explains the couch the poor dolls are flinching from. I made smaller versions- but haven't found any photos.

Dr. Who Dr. Who is old and feeble now, having been chewed on by various dogs and cats, but this is a close-up of him when he was in his prime. Unlike most of the things I've made, I still have the good doctor.
He has various items in his pockets, including a miniature yo yo and a tiny rubik's cube. At one time he had a paper bag with felt jelly babies in it- they may have vanished in the wash one day.
He also has a Tardis key on a chain around his neck, but so far, he hasn't found the Tardis and left.
Sam Sam reminded me of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain's creation, but neither Huckleberry nor Mark seemed to suit him, so he is named after Samuel Clemens- Mark Twain's real name. Sam is a good size doll. He's wearing actual child socks and shoes (mom and I wheeled him through a store to try them on him).

He was made from a kit (it didn't include hair, eyes, stuffing, material for the clothes, embroidery floss for the features, dental floss* for  the joints, rouge for all four of his cheeks... come to think of it, it wasn't much more than 'skin' and the patterns.)
*Yes, this big doll is jointed with waxed dental floss, yards and yards of it, lengths tied together and twisted until it became very strong.

I didn't check, but he used to have a little carved fish in his back pocket. And you can see that he's collected some pins and necklaces too. His hat is actually a stewardess' hat, but it seemed to suit him.
