Tail shot
This is what most of my pics looked like. For each of the good photos you see, I must have taken 20 pictures that I threw out.

Amber, Baby, Ringo and Lion
Amber
Amber once had a sister marked much the same as her, only lighter, named Opal because she had a round mark on her forehead that reminded me of an opal.  Amber was named as a bad joke (from a detective novel 'Darker Than Amber')
Amber
Amber's coloring is quite striking-including a black 'strap' around one leg.
Baby
Baby was named by mom.
Baby
Maybe because she's such a 'pretty baby'?

Bernie
Ken named this cat 'Bernie' because the poor thing had been dreadfully scalded. He was very patient about me putting antibiotic and A&D ointment with lanolin on his wounds, and eventually regrew most of his fur.
Bernie
Bernie is a sweetheart, although he looks grumpy. It's just the way his face is.
Bert
Bertie was born at Easter. His real name is Eggbert the kitchen countertop spy, but that's too long to yell when he's stealing the butter dish. He once had a sister named Bunny.
Bert
He's dressed like James Bond in Casino Royale. And he ate the answers to my puzzle book. So I was pretty sure he was a secret agent, although I wonder why he likes to fetch a feather ball for Ken-- maybe he's playing courier and thinks there are secret documents inside?
Bert
Bertie listening to 'M'.
Bert
I proved he was a crook when I looked at the bottom of his left hind paw.
Bert
It has the mark of the 'Mad Cat' criminal organization from the cartoon/movie Inspector Gadget.
Billy
Billy the kid showed up one day, as a starving kitten. He could barely stand, but we still couldn't catch him. Cats are like that.
Billy
He was too weak to stand up to the other cats, so he'd wait until they finished eating before he'd come. There would be nothing left. Once I put out 17 cans of food trying to fill up the others so he could eat.
Bonnie
My brother took Bert to the vet one day, and the vet said if he didn't take this other kitten they'd kill her. Bonnie was the ugliest kitten I've ever seen, so I gave her a pretty name to encourage her.
Bonnie
We considered naming Bonnie 'Yoda' because her ears stuck straight out, her eyes were bulging yellow balls, and her fur was a dingy grayish spiky mess.
Bonnie
But Bonnie certainly turned out nice, didn't she? She was supposed to be an outside cat, but went on a hunger strike until I took her in.
Bootless
Bootless's mother, Missus Hisses, was the ancestor of most of our cats. I think his was her last litter, and the other five in his litter were all brown tabbies with white feet. He was the only 'unbooted' one.
Bootless
This is a strange pose, I know. Bootless was getting ready to wash his chest fur.
Bootless
Bootless thinks it's always nice to follow up a wash with a good scratch.
Eric
Eric the Red is the second of that name. Names are very important. Eric the Red was a viking explorer and this Eric constantly gets out of the house to explore.
Eric
Once when he got out he was bitten by a dog and got a punctured lung.
Eric
Which meant the vet had to wrap Eric up like a cat-mummy until he healed. Here he's snoozing in a window, so he can see when Ken comes home.
Eric
Eric likes squeezing into boxes too small for him.
Eric and Bert
Eric and Bert begging to go into Ken's room.
Eric and Roy
Eric in the front, and Roy behind him. Roy has a tiny nick out of one ear. I think he said something rude to Bonnie and she smacked him.
Eric and Roy
Eric and Roy. I think this photo is funny.
Foxy
Foxy was another of Missus Hisses kits, and was too shy to let us catch her as a kitten.
Foxy
Foxy was sick as a kitten, and her right eye's been clouded ever since.
Foxy
It doesn't seem to bother Foxy, though. She's sweet, loving, has been known to catch lizards, birds and mice (not that I asked her to) and is the only cat I know who can not only climb a ladder to get on the roof, but can descend the ladder to get down.
Foxy
She's named Foxy because I thought her face-mark reminded me of a fox's mask.
Inky
Inky is a sweetheart. She loves to be petted, and goes crazy meowing when you do. She's probably a full sister to Bert, but not lucky enough to become a house cat.
Inky
Inky is probably the best mouser of all of the cats, and the smallest cat. She's a tiny thing.
