![]() Mouse, in 1979. I've always liked black and white cats. Nearly all of them I've had seem cleverer than calicos or tabbies I've had at the same time. |
Mouse was named after the white patch on her back. She had the softest, thickest, shiniest coat. She was a love. |
![]() This little kitty didn't have a name. It was one of a number of kittens born from strays who saw the 'Unwed Cat-Mother's Home' sign on our front lawn. |
Roy in 2000. He was supposed to be an outside cat, but he was clumsy and
kept getting hurt. After the second time we had to take him to the vet because
he cut his foot going over a fence we gave in and made him a house cat. |

Orange Julius was the brightest red tabby we've ever had. He was gorgeous,
big and glossy, very sweet and friendly. I never did get an adult photo of
him I believe, which was a pity. He had the same mother as Roy. Might have
had the same father- no way to tell, these tomcats are very bad about child-support. |

Purr in 2000. We didn't have this cat very long. The daughter of the then
tenant at our rental property brought this cat home as a kitten, but the
mother refused to let it in the house. She wasn't feeding it enough, so we
went over and gave it some dry food. The woman got annoyed after she caught
us doing this after a few days because leaving cat food outside would draw
bugs... this woman had the yard filled with junk, including a motorcycle
broken in halves and she worried about a bit of dry cat food? She actually
grabbed the catfood bowl out of mom's hand. The woman then got mad and threatened
to leave. We cheered. She left, and left the cat behind, saying she couldn't
find it. We took it home, but after a few days, Purr vanished. I have hopes
that she found the loving home she deserved. She was a pretty, loving cat
with a wonderful purr. |
![]() <---Shadow in 2002 on one of the cat-castles I built for the porch cats. I don't know if I have a good photo of her. She was fluffy black with white bib and white paws. She weighed about 4 and a half pounds. One day I'd recently picked up Sarah Jane (27 pounds) and went out to the back porch and picked up Shadow, and nearly shot-put her through the roof because my arms were 'set' for SJ's weight. |
Tara being so cleverly camouflaged that no one will ever find her. |
![]() | Bertie. I always loved this photo of the Countertop Spy in training. |
![]() | Bonnie in July of 1998? after she started to look better. She was the ugliest kitten and barely missed being named Yoda. |

Bonnie again, staring me down. She probably wanted something. Like my complete
and utter devoted attention to her every whim. And I'm sure she got it. |
