![]() When you have a litter of kittens that you want to take outside to photograph, a zip-up suitcase makes it easier to control them... for a few minutes. Honey was watching them, very puzzled. She thought kittens were born from cats, not luggage. The calico with the music note marking on her face is Chessie. |
Chessie in the first dollhouse I made (from a cheap punch-out kit). I direct your attention to the second floor, where the father of the family is doing the ironing. |

Dad was on jury duty one year and met a couple who wanted to give away a
pair of peach-faced lovebirds, because their young children were tormenting
the birds. So Peaches and Cream came to our house where Chessie was fascinated by them. Dad and I made the nesting box for them and they raised a pair of babies, Jeepers and Creepers (because when we lifted the lid and looked in the nest box we said 'Jeepers, Creepers, where'd you get those peepers'.) |
![]() She was a very pretty cat, wasnt she? | <--I think Chessie was born in 1979,![]() |

Some years, I had a real tree for Christmas, and it went out on the back
porch. This kept the house neat, but considering how hot it is in South Florida
in December, the trees didn't last long... but they looked good for
a while, and the cats loved them. |
![]() | Chessie had unusually dark yellow/green/gold eyes, but not as dark as this picture makes her look. |
![]() | Here's a nice 'glamor shot' of Chessie. |

Honey liked to lie on windowsills... honestly, that dog was part cat. Chessie's sleeping on the couch. She did sucha good job of camouflage I think she was sat on more than once. |
