Proud father note #637

The Young at Heart Short Film Awards, now in its second year, is a national competition for new Australian short films, 'showcasing the vitality, skills and talent of seniors in the community'. The finalists will be screened as part of the Third Sydney Seniors Film Festival, at 5.15 pm (excellent time for pensioners, as a young friend said, but not for anyone else) on Tuesday 8 April. The Fifth Marquess of Lensingdale seems to have been allowed into competition on the basis of half its cast being a senior; certainly its director, cinematographer, focus puller, writer, editor, continuity and producer are all young enough to be my children (the director, of course, is). Still, I plan to be there and I expect it to be a favourite with the audience. It's only $8 at the door for Seniors Card holders, and this is a World Premiere.
