Another brilliant nieceI changed the name of this blog to "Family Life"
when it became evident that it wasn't going to limit itself to "Life with
Mollie". As it spread out and grew more formless, the name stayed, of dubious
relevance to most of the content. So I'm glad to announce a new family-based
category, Family Watch, in which I plan to take unabashed delight in the doings
of my extended family.
My oldest niece has just been signed up by Show and Tell Promotions, a 'booking agency for speakers and presenters working in the broad field of children's literature and media'. Here's her profile. She's smart, witty, charming and wise. If you're tempted to book her to visit your school, do so with my blessing. Her Show and Tell page contains the first Web appearance of the cover of Thrill Seekers, her book of short stories scheduled for publication by Ransom Publishing UK in September. Some of the stories have had outings in, among other places, The Griffith Review. Expect to hear more about this book, and not just from me.

About this Blog
This started out as a patchy journal about family life with my mother-in-law, Mollie, who has Alzheimers and was then living with us. Mollie has moved, first into a "low-care facility" then, in July 2004, into a nursing home. As these and other events have overtaken us, the blog has moved on ...
A note on comments: You can read comments on the same page as the entry rather than in a pop-up window, by clicking on the category button ("Mollie" etc) at the end of the entry and then on the "Read more" button. Latest comments
