The Shapiro Files: It's a Dog's Life

By popular request, here is the QuickTime version of the award winning short film I produced (with a tremendous amount of input, inspiration, and "star power" from Marcie) for my beloved location of occupation. In late winter/early spring 2001, my division (AppleCare) held a contest for the best iMovie about service and support. Based on an original idea of Marcie's, her mother, or myself (depending on whose story you believe), It's a Dog's Life was filmed in just one day (a rainy one at that) in Marcie's parent's townhouse in Cupertino (our first home as a married couple). While the footage shooting took a very short period of time, the editing, sound effect compilation, and music scoring (yes, I composed and performed the movie's original soundtrack) took several grueling weeks to complete.

In the end, It's a Dog's Life took first place honors in the AppleCare contest and I won a brand new Titanium PowerBook G4 computer.

To view the movie below, you will need to have QuickTime installed in your computer. Also, loading the movie is not for the feint of bandwidth (it requires a DSL or Cable Modem connection at minimum).
