Blog is short for WEB LOG. It is an online journal. There are MANY on the internet these days. In fact I think it is fast becoming all the rage.

This particular blog, mine, is about my newest season in life...peri-menopause. Of course, I'll be blogging about my hobbies and interests as well; things like knitting and crafts, apple computers and reading, movies and ministry, family and travels, billiards and Jesus, politics and business. But mostly, I wanted to record my journey through this natural stage in the life of almost every woman.

So, if you're a young single man who likes race cars, fist fights, foul language and beets, this site won't interest you in the least. Or if you're a gay vegetarian, this site will only make you angrier than you already are. For anyone else, even slightly interested, just click on the link above and come on in.

late watching the result trickle in, waiting and waiting for Ohio's numbers, I
finally gave up and created a blog entry to post before going to bed. However,
when I tried to preview it to check for any errors, it didn't post. Things went
downhill from there

I can’t believe it. I am so
angry I could spit nails. All along when I’ve read all the hateful
accusations directed toward Bush, I just chalked it up to the spinned lies of
the Kerry campaign. I expected there to be some venting of the Kerry supporters
right after the election because their hatred is so
intense.

However, I was
not prepared for the blatant bias of the MSM AFTER the election! All three major
network stations here in the Portland area, ABC, NBC, and CBS had such a bias
toward Kerry in their recap news stories that as I watched the 6pm news while
making dinner, I almost threw my wooden spoon across the room. I was SO angry. I
so wanted to see the celebrations, to join in vicariously. My candidate, after
all, won!

I am SO ready for this day to be
over. I stayed up late last night, monitoring polls, praying, sending emails,
making comments at blogs. I got up super early this morning to go to early
morning prayer at the church. It was still dark when I got there and then it was
light when we were done praying. I am very excited for today. I am expecting God
to move today.

My son called today after he had
lunch with his father. I'm so glad they spent some time together. I think more
fathers and sons need to do that. Anyway, on his way home through the Seattle
traffic, we talked. I shared with him that I was fasting today. He assumed it
was for our financial situation and for a new place to move to in the Tacoma
area. But I told him that I was fasting not for us, but for the election. I just
have this huge burden today. I am feeling urgent, like I should be pressing in.
Anyway, he told me about a dream he had last week.

This morning, my daughter called
and woke me up. Her car battery died over the weekend and this morning, it was
becoming apparent to her, after she had to get a jump to leave her home, get a
jump after getting gas, and get a jump each time she shut the car off, that she
was going to have to skip class to go get a new battery. She called me to
transfer some money from her savings to her checking account. I was also able to
look up the nearest auto parts store for her to get the battery and have it
installed. Of course, I did all this before I ever even got out of
bed!

The first email I read this morning
was from a friend in Alabama, a military wife. She urged me to join in the
National Call to Prayer.
"I
don't know how you feel about prophetic words, but this came from a man whom I
admire named Dutch Sheets. He's from Texas, but now has a church in
Colorado Springs. I have heard him speak at prayer conferences before and
believe he is a man of integrity. He issued a call to prayer a few days
ago, but I didn't read this until last night. Our SS class (some of us)
met for prayer last night on the steps of the Capitol building in Montgomery to
pray for Alabama and we found ourselves praying for Florida and Texas as
well. Then we met in a home and continued praying, and we found ourselves
praying for every state in the nation. Today needs to be a day of prayer
and fasting for these elections and against any plan of the enemy of God to
hinder that. Even if you don't read what Dutch says, I hope that you will
pray."

Wes, Greg's boss, called him last
night at 10pm to tell him that an agreement had been made between the owner of
the company and the ex-employee. So the company is back in business in
Washington state. What a wild roller coaster ride that was. Greg had come home a
broken man. First of all, not knowing whether or not he'd have a job on Monday
after having been employed and unemployed off and on for 10 months without
income and then having his car broken into and everything being taken, he was
inconsolable, a broken man. In our 24+ years of marriage, I have only witnessed
him cry half a dozen times. Last night was one of them. He only teared up and
didn't bawl or anything, but he is NOT an emotional kind of guy. So, it shook me
up a bit
