oct 30 verse for the day


Isaiah 32:15-17

"When the Spirit is given to us from heaven, deserts will become orchards thick as fertile forests. Honesty and justice will prosper there, and justice will produce lasting peace and security"

Every morning, I devote some of my time to reading the Bible, journalling, and praying, I call it my devotions. It never ceases to amaze me how God speaks directly to my life each and every day.

An example of this is in an excerpt from my daily reading for today, "This Daily Wisdom is written for those people who may be going through a hard time in their lives. No one said our lives would be complete bliss, for we are humans as capable of grief and tears as we are of laughter and joy. Despite what hardships may come our way, however, our faith in God allows us the hope that darkness always will give way to light, in the same way that justice prevails, and good reigns over evil. It may not come in an hour or a day, but in God's perfect timing, dark times will not last forever."

And in my Scripture reading from the new testament, "I thank Christ Jesus our Lord. He has given me the strength for my work because he knew that he could trust me. I used to say terrible and insulting things about him, and I was cruel. But he had mercy on me because I didn't know what I was doing, and I had not yet put my faith in him. Christ Jesus our Lord was very kind to me. He has greatly blessed my life with faith and love just like his own. " I Timothy 1:12-14

And from the old testament, "But there will be rewards for those who live right and tell the truth, for those who refuse to take money by force or accept bribes, for all who hate murder and violent crimes. They will live in a fortress high on a rocky cliff, where they will have food and plenty of water." Is 33:15-16
