hard to swallow

Last night I could not sleep for the life of me. I would put away my laptop, insert my earplugs and snuggle down under the blankets. Then, I would lay there wide awake for what seemed an eternity. Finally, I'd get out from under the covers, take out my earplugs and open back up my laptop. I did this three times, until finally at 3am, my eyes began to feel droopy enough that I thought my brain would actually turn off. What did insomniacs do before the days of the laptop?

I'm certain that it was the excitement of our upcoming move and all the life changing circumstances that have happened so suddenly. So, when I got a call this morning from the Oregonian confirming the online ad I placed to sell our pool table yesterday, I was VERY OUT OF IT, I'm not sure if the ad was correct or not, because I can't remember the conversation, but I'm fairly certain that I didn't pull the ad. So, I hope that I got it right when I first placed it. And, now, this morning, I can't get back to sleep, which is my preference, but since I still have TRUSTY LAPTOP near me, I can stay in bed (in my jammies again all you bloggers) and still feel somewhat productive. I even went and got some morning tea with soy milk (for that ever important protein) and my vitamins. The problem is that as I sat here in the darkened room, reaching for my vitamins to wash down with my tea, I almost washed down my earrings that are about the size of vitamins and sitting right next to them on my night stand. What a horrifying thought, picturing my little red posts and backs making their arduous way through my digestive track and finally ending up... well you know where. Heirlooms they may be, I think Grandma would understand if I just let her babies get flushed. Blessedly, I caught myself in time. I shuddered just now.
