MacPoET Release 1.2 - October 2, 2000 This folder contains two items: ¥ MacPoET - the MacOS PPPoE application ¥ Read Me - this file System Requirements: ¥ MacOS computer equipped with a PowerPC CPU. ¥ Open Transport 1.1.1 or better. ¥ System 7.6 or better. Configuration Requirements: Before running the MacPoET Client, please configure your TCP/IP Control Panel as follows: (1) Double-click on the TCP/IP Control Panel (2) Select your Ethernet connection using the Connect via: pop-up menu. (3) Select "Manually" from the Configure: pop-up menu. (4) Enter "192.0.0.1" in the IP Address field. (5) Enter "255.255.255.0" in the Subnet mask: field. (6) Enter "192.0.0.2" in the Router address: field. (7) Enter the IP address of your DNS in the Name server addr.: field. (8) Click the go-away box in the upper-right hand corner and save the configuration. Additional Considerations: ¥ In order to run MacPoET, AppleTalk protocols must be enabled on your MacOS computer. After installing MacPoET, if AppleTalk is not enabled, an alert box with the following message, "MacPoET INIT: Get autopush ioctl failed", may appear. To enable AppleTalk, select and configure the AppleTalk Control Panel and make sure the AppleTalk Active radio button is selected in the Chooser.
