The Launceston Wargaming Society

Membership Fees: None.

Activities: Regular weekly games extending to campaigns and competitions. Current group interests are DBA, DBM, DBF, Flames of War - and even some Warhammer players.

Special Events: Long weekend mondays we try to stage a full day length game for multiple players. We are always looking for new members that are experienced but beginners are most welcome and encouraged to join. Ages of the group range from 13 up to 50+ years of age.

  • Cost is just $3 per night to cover the cost of the hall, $5 for non-members.
  • Annual membership fee of $20 to cover public liability insurance.

Activities: Our club supports WH40k, WH Fantasy, Mordhiem, LOTR, Star Trek and Magic players.

We are also willing to take on any new games.

Scenery and tables are provided.

  • Annual GVE. Mighty "Good v Evil" 2005.

Membership Fees: All of the groups are of the informal variety, so there are no membership fees etc.

Activities: Although there are those involved in various fantasy and sci-fi gaming, much of it is historical based, ancients to WWII. Scales used are for the most part 15mm for historical, but there are also 25mm, 20mm, and 6mm/micro-armour.

Rules use differ fairly widely between groups. Many being home-grown derivatives of commercial sets.

Ages within each group vary, although there are those groups with mostly younger and others with primarily older players.
