The Australian Battle Group, Inc.

A Radio Controlled Big-gun Model Warship Combat Club in Australia

Web Site: http://www.ausbg.org/

We built and sail 1/144 scale Radio-Controlled Model Warships from WWI and WWII which are armed with Co2 powered cannon and armoured in thin balsa. These vessels engage each other in combat on ponds across Australia, endeavoring to punch holes in each others hull with their cannon until one of the vessels sinks or flees. Yes, the cannon really do fire, the vessels really do take damage and sink, and yes, it is legal in all states and territories of Australia without a gun license.

Activities: The Society for Creative Anachronism is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to the study and recreation of pre-17th century Western Civilisation (Middle Ages and Renaissance).

There's a place for those who enjoy history and research, those that get a kick from "medieval fighting" and those that just love a good revel.  There's a place for Vikings, a spot for Crusaders and another for Celts, Persians and Renaissance. Any culture from Western Europe or its influential neighbours between 600 and 1600 AD.

SCA activities include dancing, calligraphy, fighting, cooking, metalwork, stained glass, costuming, literature, brewing... what ever you can imagine. If you find an area of period endeavour not being studied yet, you can always start and foster interest in others!

They meet once a month to play against one another in campaigns, challenges, or just for the fun of it. The Western Warriors is a great opportunity for all the gamers out there who would like to fine-tune their gaming skills, or just play the games that they love. If you are a willing gamer at the club and wish to field models, all models must be painted and based.
