Welcome to the home port of the s/v Best O' Both. We've been looking forward to boating for a long time, so feel free to gunkhole around the site and check out the boat and what we're doing with her.

Here she is after her long, wet, and stormy trailer ride home from Blue Water Yachts, in Seattle. It was late, cold, and miserable out by the time we got home, and it was all I could muster to crack open a beer & see how it tasted on board... (pretty good, BTW)

We are into our third season with BoB, and for the time being, I've simply set up each season as its own log. As I start to have more info to post, I'll start to structure the pages a little more.

A big acknowledgement to Duane Dunn and his boating site (www.ddunn.org) has to be given here. It is a well laid out site full of very useful information and enjoyable summaries of a well used, well enjoyed, family vessel. The hardest thing about setting up our site will not to be too blatant in copying every little thing that he has done on his site.

Part of our enjoyment of boating comes from the knowledge gained both from the courses, and members of, our local Langley Power Squadron. In Canada, all power boaters, regardless of age will be required to possess a PCOC card by Sept. 09. Although the PCOC is easily attainable, it is a start. I would encourage anyone newer who hasn't already done so, to take the Boating course offered by a local squadron. In my opinion THAT would be a more reasonable 'minimal' standard. Check here for courses/squadrons in your area.
