Posted at 01:52 EST Read Entry iChat AV nonsenseLast night my wife and I tried out iChat AV's
video conferencing capabilities. It works very well, even all the way from the
bedroom to the living room. (about 5 meters, really) Of course experimentations
like this are highly dangerous (it is a beta, you know?) so we chose to use some
crash test dummies for it...

Posted at 12:18 EST Read Entry Where I have been and how I scored a new PowerBookRecent updates to this site have been sparse,
mostly for one reason: I was stuck with a 400 Mhz ruby iMac a friend loaned me
while my 500 Mhz PowerBook was at Apple for repairs. I really appreciated the
loaner as it would at least allow me to get some work done and check my mail,
but writing on it was rather awkward. Last Monday I got a call by Apple telling
me they checked my PowerBook out and were going to replace it. Yesterday I went
to pick it up and was pleasantly surprised...

Posted at 05:12 EST Read Entry WiFi/AirPort detectorWouldn't it be cool if a gadget would let you know if
you are in reach of a wireless network? This self made doodad looks quite
promising. I certainly wouldn't mind having something like that...

Posted at 03:45 EST Read Entry Why I love my iPod so much (and now Nick Drake)I was in bed just a couple of minutes ago trying to
get back to sleep. I listened to my iPod playing a smart playlist of songs that
I have on there, but are yet unrated, when I came across a song that had me jump
out of bed and look up the artist.

Posted at 10:54 EST Read Entry Reuters: Apple to release online music distribution serviceThis article by Reuters sums up all the
rumors that have been floating around for some time now. Frankly, I can't wait!
I am already addicted to Audible.com and can't wait to have an easy,
fast, cheap and also legal way to get music onto my iPod. Oh yeah... and there
might be new iPods too. eBay here I come!
Posted at 12:27 EST Read Entry Apple Universal Music buy-out officially deniedAccording to this press release, the deal
was never even proposed. Or was it? Steve doesn't say he is not talking to them,
just that Apple has not made an offer.
Posted at 03:19 EST Read Entry LA Times: Apple to buy Universal's music division? This has the potential to be huge! If there
is one man that can re-invent the music industry it is Steve Jobs. He might be
an egocentric maniac at times but he has proven over and over that he has the
vision it takes to improve an already great product. Quite ironic though that he
chose to show off the stock tracking features of Sherlock 3 at Expo Paris by
showing how badly the Vivendi stocks where doing. Was he in talks already back
then? Of course they do not exactly need to buy Universal's music division for
this. They could also just go into the business of selling music for a fee. Only
time (April 28th is what I hear) will tell.
