Kennedy Space Center


I have been wanting to go to Kennedy Space Center for ages now. When I came to the United States the first time, back then as ten year old tourist, my parents asked me "Do you want to go to Disney World or Kennedy Space Center?" It was a no brainer at the time but I have been regretting that I did not go for years. Now, 14 odd years later, I finally went and loved every minute of it...

Bitburger


My wife, her Mom, sister and I are staying with a friend of her Mom's in Satellite Beach for a couple of nights. She is a quirky woman of the "no nonsese" kind. She's also been nurse for about 20 years and spend some years in Bitburg, Germany on an army base. I made a comment about the beer they make in Bitburg, aptly named Bitburger for obvious reasons, to which she answered "they make beer there?"

How to rate the Eurovision contest


Every year there is a contest in Europe called Grand Prix d' Eurovision de la Chanson in which singers from all over europe compete. Each country sends one that was picked by a telephone (TED. One of those inexplicable terms coined by German TV) poll in a previous competition on live TV in their respective countries.

Sounds like a good idea that shouldbe fun to watch? In theory, yes.

The problem is that all the songs are HORRIBLE and the whole things is an embarrassment. This of course does not stop people like my parents to watch it anyway and millions of people to not only watch and vote, but also buy the CD of the horrible songs later...
