Sebastian: Hey Jules. I'm doin good! Yeah, I'm sorry you missed the show at The Zipper too. It was great. The play I was in, KENT, CT, was definitely a highlight. Yes, you will see me as Rocky after the 27th of November. And, of course, there is only one DOT COM.

Barry Asks: Dear Sebastian,
Last week I was looking at the Times and saw RH was re-opening, but didn't see your name. When I got around to looking at your web site, I saw mention of the plays at the Zipper. I went down this week-end with my friend David and we saw the plays. I liked the first one about the nipple ring, but I have to say although I wasn't expecting much, your play was the best. It was funny, original and interesting, and the real estate wife was fabulous. You were very good! You have a very keen comedic sense, good timing, and you had a very good sardonic look which made the Benjamin Nicholas character come alive. So much of what made that dreadful couple and the situation funny was your reaction, the way you moved & held yourself, and the way you delivered your lines, which were very funny. You had good material, but you also delivered it perfectly. I go to lots of plays and I was so thrilled to see that you have what it takes in comic acting, too.
I can see you being on your way to being a triple threat, we know you can sing, you can CERTAINLY dance, and now acting - Broadway (& Hollywood) watch out.
I sort of thought it would be nice to meet you at the Zipper, but on Friday night, you spoke briefly to a guy in a white T shirt, and then as we were about to speak to you you hurried out. So I was disappointed, but maybe there'll come another time. I will certainly see RHPS one more time when you're back before it closes.
Once again, congratulations, we enjoyed it a lot, and anything you do in New York, I'll get my friends to come to, 'cause I know they won't be disappointed, nor will I.
Barry
Sebastian: Barry. I can't tell you how great it feels when someone gets what you are doing. Thank you very much. I thought we had a great piece too. The playwright, John Augustine is very talented and our director, Leah Gardiner is very smart. They made a good team and created a very free work environment. It really helped us find it. I had such an incredible time working on and developing Benjamin. I only wish the play had been longer and we had a more time to perform it. You feel as though you are just getting the hang of it and truly finding good stuff and it's over. I hope to do more and more plays in the future. Thanks again for your support.
I'm so sorry that you didn't get a chance to meet me. I did rush out that night because I was hurrying off to see my darling Daphne perform at The Bottomline. If you come to see ROCKY when I return, you'll have your opportunity once again.

Annica Asks: hey what's shakin? i was just curious to write you because i heard something mentioned about the chicago film? i had absolutely no idea that you were doing that but now that i know that you are involved, i'm terribly excited. the show is one of my favorites and i only wish i could have seen you do it on broadway.
i am from columbia, missouri and this is my senior year. i'm pretty disappointed that i didn't get to make it to rocky horror when i had the chance, but perhaps when i come up to nyc to make a college visit, i'll get to see you in it. you're there after november 27th right? the cool thing is this girl cristen came in to musical rehearsal one day wearing a rocky horror mini-tee and so i freaked out like the nerd i am. i asked her about it , and she had said that she had seen the show w/ you, alice, luke and tom and she loved it. so we started talking about it and how jealous i was etc etc. it was pretty rad. so at least i can live vicariously through her.
anyhoo, i just wanted to write and wish you the best of luck with everything and i am so anxious to see the chicago film. i'm still giddy over the fact that you are in it! hope i get to make it up to broadway to see you someday soon.
oh yea! one more thing. this weekend i went to st. louis and saw a bernadette peters concert and got to meet her afterwards. it was fabulous. do you have any experience with her? she's faboo. ok well i'll run and let you to your business, but i just wanted to write and say peace and love and to keep it real for all the people in missouri. word
annica
Sebastian: Hey Annica. Yes, I am working on the CHICAGO film. I begin rehearsals this week in Toronto. I was cast in three of the production numbers. I can't wait to get started. I haven't been dancing lately so it will be great to move again. I will return to ROCKY on the 27th of November. I hope you get a chance to catch it. I have not yet had the opportunity to work with Bernadette. I will have to admire her from afar until then. Keepin it real, yo.

Kristen Asks: I think you are the hottest guy that I have ever seen in my life!!!!! My friend got me watching Rocky Horror Picture Show and I love it now. I was just wondering if you are ever coming to Kentucky? I would love to see you in person or even get to meet you and get your autograph to put in my room? Thanks for your time.
Love always, Kristen (your biggest fan)
P.S. I LOVE the pictures of you with blonde hair!!!!
Sebastian: Hi Kristen. How cool it is to hear I have fans all the way down in Kentucky! Thank you but I don't think I will be in KY anytime soon, sorry. If you are interested in an autographed photo, send a self addressed stamped envelope to me at The Circle in the Square theater. The address is on the CONTACTS page of my site. I'll send you a blond photo.

Thank you for your time
Jamie
Sebastian: Thanks Jamie. I'm sorry to say but Kentucky is not in my travel plans anytime soon. I will return as Rocky on November 27th so you'll get your chance then. If you wish for a picture, send a SASE to me at the theater. The address is located on the CONTACTS page on my web site.

Sebastian: Hey Jess. Yes, I will return to the show but not until November 27th. I'm in Toronto rehearsing for the CHICAGO movie until then. Thank you so much. I'm glad to hear that you enjoy my Rocky. I enjoy him too. He really is a great guy and he has developed so much since we opened. I hope to see you in November.

Heather Asks: My friends and I saw you last night at the Zipper Theatre. They have seen you twice before in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but last night was my first experience with seeing you perform and I must say that I'm so glad I got a chance to see you in such an intimate theatre setting:)
You are an amazing performer.
I don't know if you remember, but my friend Jennie and the rest of us came up to you at intermission. She is absolutely in love with you, and has emailed you twice. So that's why i'm emailing you to let you know that she thinks you rock!
Heather
Sebastian: Hi Heather. Thanks. Doing KENT, CT was complete joy. I can't tell you how great it was to get the chance to work on such a smart piece. I was given the chance to play and experiment in a forum that encouraged such behavior. It was also thrilling to get support from some of the Rocky fans. I felt very special having them come.

Chris Asks: I am a fan of yours ever since I first bought the soundtrack to your show The Rocky Horror Show. I was wondering have you seen the movie version with Tim Curry, if you have, would you tell me how it pales in comparison with your show ? I also would like to know, how did you feel accepting the role of the monster that Frank 'N' Furter created because since you know that Frank 'N' Furter is a transexual and it's obvious that he would have his creation as one of his many lovers in the show besides Brad & Janet ? I also would like to know if any of the cast members from the film have seen your show and if they have, how did they like the show.
Chris
Sebastian: Chris. I would in no way so that the movie version pales in comparison. They are two entirely different mediums that just happen to share the same story. The experience of witnessing a live production, makes it much more of an event. The film is a pop culture classic with an amazing performance by Tim Curry. All of the cast was really quite good. Patricia Quinn's Magenta is astounding and Susan Sarandon's eyes are mesmerizing. Our show would not have made such a mark without their efforts. The fact that the show is done on a three-quarter thrust stage, in a theater that only seats 700 adds to its electricity. Our cast was also immensely talented, incredible actors with great stage presence and powerful voices. Add to it, the element of interesting set design and provocative costuming with a modern sensibility and you get a hot, exciting and dynamic show.
The thought of being one of Frank's lovers was a non-issue for me. I knew what the role was when I auditioned for it. The only cast members that have been to see the show are Richard O'Brien and Barry Bostwick. Richard was very pleased with the show and as far as I know Barry was very complimentary. The other actors probably don't really have an interest in coming. It has been a part of their lives for so long now that I'm sure, at some point, they became numb to all things ROCKY HORROR.

David Asks: Sebastian, The last time I visited your website, it had said you were opening in
a play at the Zipper Theatre this week. Will that play still open? If so,
will it be with you or without you? I loved your performance as Rocky. Please
reply
Thanks, David
Sebastian: Hi David. Yes, the play at The Zipper has come and gone with me as one of the cast members. It was only a week engagement. The play I was in was called KENT, CT.

Stan Asks: Hey Sebastian,
I saw you perform at the Zipper theatre last night. You were awesome. I thought your play was very funny. You had some great lines.
Honestly, I left after intermission, but so did you so I didn't feel too bad. :) I didn't realize it was going to go so late.
I had a great night! I look forward to seeing you do more of what you love to do!!
:)Stan
Sebastian: Hi Stan. Thank you so much for coming to see KENT,CT. It was such a wonderful experience to work on a piece and in an environment where all you had to carry you through was your acting. No songs or dance numbers around to help you create a desired effect. Just simply your actions and your reactions. I'm totally hooked. I would love to do more plays. I must do more plays. I will do more plays.
Thanks again for coming.

Christine Asks: Hi!
Just wanted to let you know that I appreaciate you taking the time to send me the glossy. Thank you.
I've been hearing about rocky coming back on the 30th and some of the cast was mentioned, but nothing about the phantoms. Do you have any knowledge on which phantoms are coming back? It's very nice that you have a website and it's so easy to communicate with you but my friend is a big fan of Jonathan Sharp and she has no way of knowing what he is doing.
Thanks again,
Christine
Sebastian: Hi Christine. You are very welcome. Enjoy the photo. I do not know for sure, which phantoms are returning but I'm sure that almost everyone is coming back with a few new additions. I can tell you that Jonathan will open the show as Rocky until I take over on November 27th. So you friend will be able to get her fix.

David Asks: I am hearing rumors that Rocky Horror will return to broadway for a few months. Is this true and will you be playing Rocky?
Saw the show in March (had an incredible time) and was planning to see it again in October.
I would really love to see the show (and you) one more time.
Thanks for the reply.
David
Sebastian: Yes David. ROCKY will return for a ten week limited run that begins on Halloween. I however, will not return to the show until November 27th. I'm rehearsing for the film version of the Broadway musical CHICAGO. So, if you want to catch me in the show you will have to wait a little bit longer. I can't wait to get back. See you then.

Ken Asks: Hiya Sebastian, I wanted to let u know that I joined the cast of the Rocky Horror PICTURE Show back when I was 15 years old in 1985... I continued playing Brad and occasionally Rocky (we never could find a guy with a great physique so I was the lucky chump), until a few years later when I took over Frank and stage-direction. I finally retired from performing the movie every Fri and Sat night in 1994, not quite hitting a thousand viewings in the theater. I'm giving you all this 'history' because during this entire time and to this day, I remain friends with my Rocky friends, and we've always had great fun tearing apart other casts-movie and professional productions. In my time I've seen 3 other professional productions of the real stage production and all of them were only "ok". When I heard back in 2000 that RHS was being produced on Broadway, I followed every scrap of news I could find, but since I live in Arizona, I never knew when I could get to see it. My partner's entire family lives in Rhode Island, and his brother was getting married in August of 2001... so I held my breath for 9 months, calling the theater every month to find out if the show would be extended to the time I would be on that side of the U.S. Finally, in June or July I was successful, and had my pick of any seat I wanted-of course I chose front and center so I could bring everyone's sweat back to Phoenix with me (we used to sweat a lot during the movie performance as well, too, don't ya know).
Finally, the week came and it was all I could talk about to anyone who would hear me, even though they still don't understand the Rocky phenomenon. I was ready for an awesome night. When I got in, I was in Rocky heaven-and once it started, I expected it to be good, but never expected it to be AS good as it was. To be honestly, I was foaming at the mouth to see Daphne in person singing right in my face (having both recordings of Rent and RHS with her singing), but your performance as well as James Stovall's as Frank (the only thing I was disappointed in was that I wouldn't get to see Tom-but as soon as James stepped of that platform-and steadied himself on those heels-he realllllly lived up to the role), blew me away.
Finally for my question-and I don't know if you even know the answer, but maybe you can ask around: At the beginning of the play when Brad and Janet sing "Dammit Janet", the black and white movie is playing on the screen and we see the priest walking by the church... is that Tim Curry doing a cameo? I don't know who else to ask this question, but as soon as I saw it, my eyes popped out.
Thanks again and much success to you.
Ken in Phoenix, Arizona
Sebastian: Hey Ken. Wow. It is truly incredible how theater can affect us. It can reach our core and makes us feel if we let it. It's also comforting to know that we could touch people with our efforts as well. There really is no greater reward for an actor. Especially with the rough days that we have endured lately, we need to, find outlets to let our emotions run wild. And let ourselves feel the joy and compassion, excitement and elation of being alive.
The tall priest that walks across the screen is Robert Guy, the shows wardrobe supervisor. His resemblance though, to Tim Curry, is uncanny.

Ali Asks: I miss Rocky! I miss seeing you after Rocky! I miss hugs!
Hi Sebastian, my name is Ali and I'm fourteen. I saw Rocky eight times (i shout call lines and, according to Jonathan, you guys can all hear me), but I only saw you seven times (grr). I think you're an amazing performer and I was wondering what drew you to performing in the first place? I'm an *aspiring* actress and I'm curious as to how other performers became interested in the field.
Thanks!
..:hugs:..
Oh, yeah, and what's a yacht for?
<3 always,
Ali
Sebastian: Hiya Ali. I first became interested in pursuing a career in the arts when I was very young. I don't really remember what is was exactly that initially attracted me to the arts but I do remember always knowing, that it was what I wanted. The movie musicals from the 1950's mesmerized me and I knew that I wanted to be Gene Kelly. I was in awe of him. I spent much of my early days practicing to be, the next Gene.

Robbie Asks: Just would like to say how much I enjoyed the Rocky Horror show last year. It was an excellent show that should have ran for a long time, but when I heard that it closed I was shocked. I was impressed with the whole production of the show. I saw it in previews in November 2000 and was about three feet away from Dick Cavett.
I still have the Playbill from the show and when I saw your picture you looked completely different. Either way, blonde or brunette you look good. Let's face facts, you're just not a pretty face, you have talent that adds to the whole package. Well I will say this, you are an extremely good looking man.
I will be coming back to New York City this year, one thing that is going to be hard for me to deal with is that the Towers are gone. Every trip I took, I visited them and just walked around and enjoyed the view. It's going to be weird to say the least coming over from New Jersey and not seeing them this time.
Out of curiosity, what nationality are you? I'm Italian/Irish and Scotish.
In closing, I wish you the best of luck in everything you do, and I hope that in time, Rocky will be back on Broadway and you'll be in it.
Thanks for listening,
Robbie
Sebastian: Hey Robbie. I don't think any of us were prepared for the tremendous after shocks from 9/11, that would rock our city and our frame of minds. Trying to keep your head clear and focusing on not being afraid of life has become a highly sought after state of mind. As we pick up the pieces and begin to rebuild our foundation we can find solace in the fact that we are a strong city that takes pride in its diversity and resilience. And we are unified in our efforts to fight for our freedom.

John Asks: Mr. LaCause.
as always, I hope this finds you well. what a day I had! first, the photo you sent to me arrived today. it is beautiful. thank you so much. second, one of my friends is directing a scene from SHOWGIRLS as part of a Halloween celebration. we got our parts today, and I was given the line: "They always got the shits! it's that damn garlic." is it a coincidence that I get a line spoken by you in the movie on the same day I receive your photo? I think not! wish me luck. I hope to make it back to RHS after it reopens. Take care.
John
Sebastian: Hi John. Congratulations! I'm sure you'll be a big hit! I think that is hilarious. I glad you like the photo, it was my pleasure.

Stephanie Asks: I'm keeping fingers tightly crossed for Rocky's return. I WILL be there opening night to lend all of my support. You and the rest of the cast are phenomonal and it was devestating to hear that the shows run was cut short. It has truly become a part of my life. I was at the last two show the 23rd (my 10th and 11th times) and I am positive when I say if was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Everyone was on the ball. It brought out so many emotions. I laughed, I cried, and I clapped and cheered. Thank you.
Stephanie
Sebastian: Hi Stephanie. Those last couple of shows were quite electric. We were all sad to see the show close. It just didn't feel right. I hope you enjoy the opening but I won't return to the show until November 27th. Have fun and I'll see you in November.

Celia Asks: hey sebastian, I've seen you in Rocky 9 times and its hard not to notice your incredible body. I've been meaning to find a personal trainner that I could work with recently and I was curious if you ever do that? It would be amazing to learn from you, especially since you are a dancer and know how to work out and still remain flexible. I really want to be a dancer but I know that I need to loose some weight and get in better shape. I was just curious if you're a personal trainner or if you know of any good ones. I live right on Long Island so if you know of any in the area that would be really great. Thanx so much.
Anyway, I hope to see you in the future. I seem to follow the Rocky Cast around. I've worked with Jonathon Sharp at my school and I followed Raul Esparaza to Tick Tick Boom and now Cabaret. Keep your fans posted about your up coming events.
love always
~ Celia
Sebastian: Hey Celia. Getting in shape is always a good idea no matter what your reasons might be. How you go about getting healthy is just as significant as your decision to change your lifestyle. I commend you on your efforts and your desire to find a personal trainer. I am not a personal trainer but what I would suggest you do is find a gym that offers personal training to its members.
I will always keep updates on my home page, so check in.

M. Asks: Hello!
I took my sixteen-year-old son to NYC for his birthday and he insisted that his first real Broadway show be RHS. We really enjoyed it - quite a difference from my first real Broadway show: Irene with Jane Powell!
Anyway, my son wants to be on Broadway someday. He has trouble with his studies so he can't do as much performing during the school year as he would like. He would be perfect doing some modeling part-time (he's 6'1" and weighs 140 lbs), and he's very good looking (OK, I know I'm his mother, but he is!). I always hear: "get an agent", but when my daughter tried modeling she kept thinking she was going to an agent, but ended up with someone trying to rope her into a modeling school and charging her lots of money. I always hear that a model shouldn't have to pay alot of his/her own money.
Do you have any advice?
Sebastian: Hi M. Yes, you are correct, You should be wary of people trying to cipher cash out of you for modeling schools or what have you. Steer clear of those. Modeling is not my area of expertise but what I would suggest you do is locate well known reputable modeling agencies. These types of agencies can usually be found in larger cities. They are not easy to find. It will require some research. Trust your instincts. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, more often than not, it's a duck. Once you find some good agencies, you then have a couple of different strategic moves you can make. First you can call them and ask when they have their open castings. This is a day at the agency, set aside to see fresh new faces. All you really need to take with you are some snap shots that give a good idea how your son photographs. If the agency is interested they will help you find good photographers that they like and who can work with your son. Testing with photographers will cost you money but it is an investment. A models book is their calling card. Eventually you will also have to pay for his comp cards. You also have the option of sending the pictures to the agencies. Something to keep in mind is that modeling is a very cut throat business. Dealing with rejection is not easy, especially for kids. It's hard enough going through puberty let alone being told you not good looking enough. That aside, try to remember that many successful models were turned away from many agencies at first. If it is something that he really wants to do, support him. At some point you will have to put up some money for photographs. Just make sure the agency and the photographer aren't phonies.

Rhiannon Asks: Hi Sebastian! :)
I saw Rocky horror this past july, and it was amazing! We went for my friends birthday and her friends flew in from oklahoma to see it. ( They were so shocked! i guess they don't see many transvestites in oklahoma!) lol. i had so much fun!!!!! You have an awesome voice and are a great actor!
Anyway, i heard that you guys closed last week, but were re-opening for a week or so around halloween time. I was wondering if you could give me the dates and times, because i hafta drag all my friends who never saw it to the show!!! I have been driving them nuts listening to the cd, and now they are all wanting to see it! I am also interested in comming to see your show "your zipper is open." ( my friends may be taking me for my birthday!)
I do a lot of local theatre here on the island, but my aspiration in life is to be on broadway, and after i gradute high school i plan on pursuing my dream. I was wondering how you got your first big break and also if you have any advice for me. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond to my e-mail! Good luck in all of your upcoming projects! May you have a long and succesful career!!
Much love and support,
Rhiannon
Sebastian: Hey Rhiannon. Yes, the show is reopening on Halloween. It will run for ten weeks, with a closing date of January 6th. So, you will have ample time to drag your friends to the show. However, if you want to catch me in the show you'll have to come after November 27th. I start working on the CHICAGO movie this month and I'm not available until then. I will return on the 27th and continue through to December 9th and then the 18th through the end of the run on January 6th. The break is due to conflicts with the shooting schedule for the film. I'm grateful that the producers are working with me and making it possible for me to breathe life into Rocky again.
How did I get my first big break? I'm still waiting for it. I have had many wonderful opportunities and I try to make the most out of every one. Early in my career, when I was in L.A. , Debbie Allen gave me a break when she hired me for my first Academy Awards broadcat. That was also the first time I worked with Liza. I was also granted another opportunity when Paul Verhoven threw me a bone and cast me as Sal in SHOWGIRLS. It was a nothing part but it I was thrilled to be speaking on screen for the first time. Christopher Ciccone, Madonna's brother, afforded me the chance to work with his sister at the 1995 Britt Awards in London. I had assisted Alex Magno during his audition to replace Keith Young as the choreographer for THE GIRLIE SHOW. Chris remembered me and cast me. Rob Marshall casting me in the first National Tour of KISS OF THE SPIDERWOMEN was a break. Getting the chance to play Fred Casely in the Broadway company of CHICAGO was a break. MINNELLI ON MINNELLI was my first opportunity as a vocal soloist on a Broadway stage. Life is a series of breaks and opportunity. I just went after them and grabbed as many as I could. I would consider THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW my biggest break to date in my acting career, which, hopefully, is just beginning. Believing in yourself and being proactive in your career pursuits will get you far. By being proactive I mean developing the necessary tools, {acting, singing or dancing) and telling the people who can make a difference (agents, casting directors, choreographers, directors and people who know them), what your goals are. Don't assume they can read your mind and don't sit around and wait for the phone to ring. You have to go get what you want.

Jackie Asks: my name is Jackie i am a big fan of the show ROCKY HORROR. i have seen the show on broadway 3 times i have it memorized and i hope it reopens so i can try to audition for it but anyhow, i wanted to tell u that your the greatest and i'm not just saying, because people say my compliments are golden and at sometimes i can be very critical of people on broadway, like i guess most actors can be. i just wanted to tell ya that besides my friend who was in the show too, your one of the best things in that show and i was just so happy when i got to meet you face to face and the picture you took with me and my friend meant alot to me. well thanks for letting me talk to you for this second and if you do go back to ROCKY HORROR, i hope to see ya as soon as the show gets back because i promised my best friend erica i would take her with me this time.
see you soon rocky and thanks.
Jackie
Sebastian: Hey Jackie. You are sweet. I appreciate your compliment. I know it's hard to watch other people when you also have a friend in the cast. Thanks for throwing me one of your "goldens" It is such a competitive business and most actors are rough on their other fellow actors. It is important to give each other that support. The universe has a crazy way of giving you what you give to others. We get caught up in our own career struggles and we forget that someone else's success, does not mean our failure. There is room for everyone. The universe is full and abundant. The difference is how we each go about staking our claims.

Steve Asks: I see you were in the latest Broadway Bares. It looks very good from the pics on the web sight. I went to where I was able to purchase previous years to see if this years was avail. but they don't have any available. Do you know if and where it may be made available again? I love your performance in IX and X and am way too poor to go to NY to see the actual performance (If only I could win powerball :-) ).
Steve
Sebastian: Hey Steve. Thank you. I always have such a good time doing Broadway Bares. That event never fails to be one of the highlights of the year. Where else can you see people baring, almost, all for charity. I wish I had an answer to your question but I'm not sure how you can obtain a copy of this year's. I do know that they don't sell copies to the public from the Broadway Care's office. I was made aware of that when I told someone to call the office once before. I wish you luck on Powerball.

Eddie Asks: Dear Mr. Lacause,
After seeing the show at least twenty times, I am really upset that it closed. Everyone was so full of life everytime I saw the show. It was a blast for me, and as I could see a blast for the whole cast. I just wanted to say that you did a great job performing, and I hope there are plenty of other chances to see you perform. Do you have any other info on what you will be doing after "Your Zipper is open"? Let me know. Thanks for such a great, up- beat show everynight!
-Eddie
Sebastian: Eddie. We did manage to have a good time most nights. ROCKY HORROR is such an event, it's hard not to have some fun. I will return to ROCKY on November 27th after I have finished the rehearsals for the CHICAGO movie. I will complete the run through the closing date on January 6th.

Nicole Asks: hey sebastian,
Its Nicole from D.C. Whats next for you since ROCKY might not come back to broadway?? You were awesome in ROCKY not because you wore those nice Speedo type of thing but your acting was awesome!!! so what are you doing next???
Sebastian: HI Nicole. I just finished doing a short play that ran for a week at a small theater space called The Zipper. That play was written by John Augustine and directed by a Leah Gardiner. It was called KENT, CT. What a great experience it was for me to work on a new piece that was well written and wonderfully directed. The Zipper is a small space with a downtown feel located on 37th Street. It was very raw. The set design was minimal. It was a forum for playwrights and actors to work and play.
This week finds me heading off to Toronto to begin rehearsals for the film adaptation of the Broadway musical CHICAGO. Then on November 27th I am slated to return to The Circle in the Square Theater to join my colleagues once again as I revive my role as Rocky for the rest of the ten week engagement.

Dave Asks: Sebastian,
Hey, I'm a "lurker" and never email random people online because I figure, "why bother them?" But you seem to actually read all the messages sent your way, and so I just wanted to let you know that I'm really impressed with that and with the kindness and sincerity with which you reply to so many of those messages on your site, which I thought was a really well-done bit of webbery.
Also, it was great to see your fitness routine and to have you discuss it in your Q&A section; I'm one of those guys who likes to hurt himself in the gym in a futile attempt to look like the people I can't help but stare at on billboards, etc., and it was really generous of you to share the exact details of what it takes to look like, well, you.
I guess I'm your basic cynical New Yorker, but my encounters with people lately, even as tenuously as through a website, are really giving me a sense of hope and happiness to be in the world. I hope you run into somebody who can make you feel the same way.
- Dave
Sebastian: Hey Dave. Well, I have to say that I find a sense of clarity when I answer these emails. Somehow when you collect and organize your thoughts it keeps you grounded. I reach out to others who reach out to me. It can be very therapeutic. I learn about myself and the human spirit in the process. I can understand your frustration in wanting to look like the people on the billboards. It took a long time for me to understand that not everyone has to have blond hair, blue eyes and be the captain of the football team. I never felt I had anyone to relate to or that I identified with. There weren't any biratial anything really. Plus, I grew up in a predominantly white community. Not only until I started accepting my differences could I really begin to grow. I begin to develop a sense of identity and self-acceptance. I started nurturing my soul and loving my olive skin and my wild hair that seems to jump from my head like its trying to escape. With the small amount of notoriety I am beginning to experience I have learned first hand that the more successful you become there will always be someone trying to pull you down. They project their fears and their anger and their jealousies on you and attack what they believe to be your weaknesses. It is not always easy to fight them but we do hold that power. I think it takes a constant awareness and a willingness to be strong. And in the long run it will only makes us stronger more compassionate human beings.

Shara Asks: hey sebastian! whats going down? I saw rhs the first time in the beginning/middle of august and i was so amazingly blown away that i came back a week later! I know u hear this a lot but i perform (only 16 but still trying) and im so inspired to just go for the gold and never stop until i reach stardom! I was wondering if u could give me some advice about what i should do for extra training. As of now im training classically and im thinking of conservatory for after high school, but i kinda want to do musical thater, is it ok if i still go to conservatory or should i find a good liberal arts school? so confusing! IM told i can make it to the met if i try, but i dont know if i want to do that! ahhh! Cause all i really want to do is spread the love like all u incredible people at rhs. By the way i still havnt stopped crying since you guys closed! you guys changed me and i love u all for that!. well im gonna ! stop rambling! hope all is well for you in future!
love
shara :)
Sebastian: Hey Shara. I think it's great that you want to study at a conservatory. I can't really tell you what would be more beneficial to you. Only you can answer that for yourself. What is important is that you find a place where you feel you'll get the best training. Where do you think you will flourish the most? Which school offers the program that most appeals to you? What type of productions can you be involved in at the schools? Something else to consider is what kind of, if any, continuing education are you interested in? I have never looked into studying at a conservatory but what kind of academics do they offer? If that is a concern for you, that is something to consider, which one will give you the better combination of education and artistry training. Also keep in mind that nothing is totally permanent. Perhaps you can start at a conservatory and if you find it's not what you want, you can always transfer. Or vice-versa. Maybe you can find a school that offers a well rounded criteria stemming from classical to theatrical. I wish I had a more specific answer for you but you should trust to your instincts. It knows what's best for you. It will guide you if you listen. If you want to make it to The Met, you will.

Jay Asks: Hey Sebastian, it's Jay. Hope you are doing well. I caught you on SNL this past weekend. I was really happy to see you on TV. I miss you and the rest of the Rocky cast. You were all an important part in my life over the summer. Whenever I was feeling down, I always knew "Rocky" would be there to cheer me up. Now that it's closed, I don't know where to go when I need a release from life.
Anyway, I've heard rumors that "Rocky" may re-open by Halloween. If so, would you return to the role of Rocky? You were excellent and I would love to see you back in it.
BTW, I saw you at the "New York New York" video shoot Friday. I felt bad for you. You must've been freezing out there in so little clothing. I was fully dressed and I was cold, so I hate to think how it was for you.
Take care and I hope to see you soon, either at "Rocky" or elsewhere.
Jay =)
Sebastian: Hi Jay. As I am sure you must know by now, ROCKY will reopen on Halloween. I plan to return to the show on November 27th. I have a scheduling conflict which keeps me tied up until then. I believe Johnathan Sharp will be doing the role for the opening weeks.
It was so very cold at the "New York New York" shoot. I was freezing my ass off. But we somehow put the inconveniences behind us. It was important for us to participate and show our support to the city. I hope the campaign will help ease some of the anxiety we all feel and raise hope and the courage of our community.

Mark Asks: Sebastian,
I just wanted to drop you a quick note thanking you for the great times you've given so many people. I only saw "Rocky Horror" once, but I have never forgotten it, and I am sad and angry that it had to close its doors.
Thank you for the music, the dancing, the laughs and the great, great CD, which has a permanent place in my Rockola jukebox. I know your career will continue to rise upward.
Mark Bessenger
Sebastian: Mark. Thanks for the thanks. Sometimes actors can get so caught up in reaching for their dreams and striving to meet their goals that we can forget how art can touch people. So, I appreciate you making me take the time to reflect on what we give.

Hector Asks: Hi sebastian,
I'm not sure if you are going to read this, but I hope you will do it.
let me tell you that I have been living in NY from last September working for a dutch bank, and i have seen RHS 8 times, every time a friend visit me I take them to the show again. I think You all are very good and the experience is really unforgettable.
I got the CD and I hear it all times.
I'm from mexico and since i was a child, I loved musicals and always used to play musicals in the shool or with friends. I love Joseph and his amazing, Jesuschrist, Evita, etc. But i never had the talent to do it, so I'm finally in the financial business and my only pleasure is to watch great shows with wonderful actors and singers as You. a couple of times, after the show - as many other fans- I was waiting for you to ask for your autograph, but I didn't dare to do it, you looked so serious and sharp.
It's a shame that Rocky closes it's doors, I would like to have it forever, but I understand that you still have a lot of successful things to do, I'm sure you will have everything you want.
I'm very worried about the Theatre situation after the terrorist attacks, I'm taking everybody I can to a show, even my friends from Mexico. I'm sure its going to be OK.
Your friend and truly fan.
Hector H.
PS I apologise for my bad english, its incredible that it's still terrible after 1 year living here.
Sebastian: Hello Hector. Even though you find yourself in the audience and not on stage performing, you are just as important as the actors. Without people, like you, who love theater, where would that leave us? Presenting our work to people who don't appreciate it. We would not have anyone to share our artistry with. So, thank you for your support and for your love of theater.

Patrick Asks: Hey Sebastian,
I'm a theater performance student in NY. I saw The RHS twice this past summer, and loved it. The entire cast was amazing, and I fell in love with the message and spirit that the cast brought to life. I feel honored to have been a part of that show, even as an audience member. For every show I see, I read all of the actor's bios. At the time I saw the first show, I was in a difficult position. As all pre-destine performers do, I was doubting myself and my future. Once I read your bio, something in me changed. You mentioned how you are a true beleiver in following your dreams, and through hard work and determination you are living your dream. I came home that night and visited your web-site, and for some reason I felt a conection to you. My entire mindset had changed from reading about you and your determination. Since I saw the show in May, I have changed my life around. I got into shape, following your advice and tips. And I have an incredible outlook on my life. I know if I want it bad enough, and work hard enough, I will do well. So, thank you so much. You don't even know how great of an impact you've had on me. I never got the chance to meet you after the show to tell you how much you have done for me. Now that the show is closed, I won't have that opportunity (well at least until your next gig) to tell you in person. So, I wanted to send you this message. Also, it was great seeing you on SNL last night, 'looking better than ever!
??? Is the show only taking a break, and will re-open for the end of October? I read something in the NYTimes about that possibility.
Also: Anything lined up from here? Any new shows or plans?
THANK YOU SO MUCH & GOOD LUCK!
-Patrick
Sebastian: Patrick. Thank you for that incredible message. I don't think you could ever anticipate what kind of impact you are going to have on peoples lives. You live your life the best way you know how, one day at a time, moment to moment, trying your best to keep your head above water and your feet firmly planted on solid ground. Then someone tells you how much you have affected them and it changes your perspective. It refuels you. For a moment you are able to step outside of yourself and look in. You realize how much we feed each other. It's nourishment for the soul. So again, I thank you. Yes, the show is reopening on Halloween. I am working on the CHICAGO movie, therefor I will not be returning to RHS until November 27th. I will finish the ten week limited run on January 6th. I also am in a new short play that runs for six performances this week at The Zipper Theater on 37th.

Shawn Asks: Hey Sebastian!
I'm interested to know how the impact that the tragic Sept. 11th attack on America has had on you. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like for you not only as a performer, but as a resident of NYC. I just wanted you to know that I care how others feel and a part of our healing process is to share those feelings with others who care.
Your fan in TN,
Shawn
Sebastian: Shawn. I have come to realize that the power of the human spirit can be quite healing. What has had the most impact on me over the past month, is the way that people have come together. It's unfortunate that it has taken an event of such catastrophic measure to bring people to a common ground. However, I think there is light to be found amidst all this darkness. I think people have begun to reevaluate their lives and question who and what they are and what they believe in. It has become a time of great introspection. I believe there is a lot of good that can come of that. What has kept me balanced is my constant search for hope. Hope is what protects me from fear and I will not live my life in fear. I am disheartened by the tremendous loss of life but find strength in a power that is greater than all us.

Erica Asks: Hey, I saw you in Rocky Horror in February and I was extremely impressed. Last night, I was watching Saturday Night Live and I could swear I saw you. There were 3 muscly guys in one skit and the strongest, hottest one I believe was you! It makes sense because SNL is taped near RHPS so it's entirely possible for you to get there, and I heard RHPS was cancelled as a result of the tragedy a couple weeks ago. Was this really you, or am I imagining it? And is RHPS cancelled for good, or just for a little while?
~Erica
Sebastian: Erica. Yes, that was me on SNL. You were not imagining it. It was fun being a part of that sketch. I thought Maya was hilarious. RHS will reopen on Halloween for ten weeks. We were hit hard by the attendance drops after the attacks. But we are trying hard to get back on our feet. Thanks.

Joe Asks: Dear Mr. LaCause,
I wanted to say how saddened I was when I heard that Rocky Horror would be one of the shows closing in the wake of the events of September 11th. As if everything that had happened wasn't tragic enough, reading about the shows closing (as I was going to enter Broadway.com's Rocky Horror sweepstakes) just brought me down even more. I had the priveledge of going to see Rocky back in August, and I can honestly say it was the funnest experience I have ever had at the theatre. The show was just put together SO WELL. I had honestly been telling my friends that in a few years, I expected to see Rocky Horror up on the Times Square billboards alongside Phantom and Les Miz as one of Broadway's longest running shows. I hope somewhere down the line, somebody gets the foresight to organize a touring company, or a re-revival, because it would be awful to think we've seen the last of this incarnation of Rocky Horror. You are an extremely talented young actor, dancer, and singer, who starred alongside an extremely talented cast. Each and every one of them, from Joan Jett and Jarrod Emick, to Ana Gasteyer and Luke Perry, and everyone in between. If nothing else, you should all take pride in the fact that your show did not close because of an untalented cast or bad production, but rather because of something much bigger that none of you could control. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of you. In fact, I spotted you immediately on the premiere of Saturday Night Live, and started shouting to my roommate "Hey, Rocky's on SNL! Remember, we saw him on Broadway!" So anyways, thanks for putting on an excellent show, and with any luck we may all see you in the role of Rocky once more someday!
~Joe
Sebastian: Hey Joe. Thank You. We have all found ourselves trying to maintain balance and order in our lives, which were turned upside down last month. Immediately I started taking stock and reevaluating my priorities. The closing of the show left me feeling cheated but grateful to be alive. My loss pales in comparison to others. We did have a gem of a show and its voice has not been stifled for long. THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW will reopen its doors on Halloween for a ten week limited run. The shows magic fell largely in its stellar cast and I was extremely proud to have worked with them all. I won't be returning to the show until November 27th. I begin working on the CHICAGO movie this month and the scheduling won't allow me to return any sooner. But I look forward to getting back. I'm glad you enjoyed the SNL sketch.

Jennie Asks: Sebastian, I was wondering....I would love an autographed picture of you, but where should I send the SASE? Since Rocky isn't going on anymore (hopefully temporarily) I didn't know if I should still send it to Circle in the Square.
Also, a few friends of mine and I will be seing your new show on October 19. Any chance of getting to meet you after the show???
Love,
Jennie
Sebastian: Hey Jennie. You can still send mail for me to Circle, since I will return to ROCKY on November 27th. I'm so thrilled you will be coming to see the show at The Zipper. It is an evening of several short plays. The one I am in closes the first act. I will be hanging in the lobby during the intermission so you can find me there. I will be rushing out to The Bottom Line to see Daphne perform but I'm sure you can catch me. The theater is very small so you won't have any difficulty locating me. This is kamakazi theater at its best. Which basically means its quite far from the lights of Broadway. There are some good plays with good actors on a very bare set. It's really a forum for some new and not so new playwrights and actors to practice the craft. I hope you enjoy it.

Lauren Asks: Hi, I wanted to know since Rocky was shut down what will you be up to? I also heard rumors that rocky is coming back. Just want to know.
Your fan,
Lauren
Sebastian: Hi Lauren. Since Rocky closed I have been working on a play with a theater company in town that will run the week of October 16th. It is a one-act play entitled, 'Kent, CT', written by John Augustine. The theater company is opening a new space on 37th Streer called The Zipper Theater. An off-Broadway play is slated to open there later this year. They are christening the space with an evening of one-act plays. It's an Equity waiver production, which means it will be trimming the house to 99 seats. It's a wonderful comedy being directed by a women named Leah Gardner. She was the assistant director for the critically acclaimed play, 'Wit'. Aside from working on that I am back in my acting class, auditioning and trying to catch up on email.

Kehla Asks: Hey Sebastian My name is kehla. Im from New Jersey and I just wanted to say that your so BEAUTIFUL! I really admire you along with the whole cast of The Rocky Horror Picture show. Ive seem the show twice so far and im planning to see it again once it reopens. I also wanted to know how did you get to were you are? Im only 16 and have wanted to be on broadway someday but dont know to come about this! Its a big dream for me and I want to know what it takes! Thanks bunches for taking the time to read this
-kehla
Sebastian: Hey Kehla. Thank you. What a question. Where do I begin? Well, I guess if you want to work on Broadway the first thing you need to do is get yourself some training. Immerse yourself in your artistry. Explore everything from voice to acting to dance. The broader your range, the more work you're capable of doing. Get involved in local theater, be it your high school production of Guys and Dolls or a regional theater production of Carousel. These are excellent playgrounds on which to practice your skills. Have a clear direction as to where you want to go. You know you want to be on Broadway so that's a good start. At some point you'll need to move to the city so you can start auditioning. That's where the game really begins. For most of us, being discovered while squeezing melons at the market or while buying a grande skim latte with no foam at Starbucks is highly unlikely. So we do it the old fashioned way with lots of hard work, determination and good 'ol trial and error. I wish there was a sure fire formula to set you on your way but your biggest tool is the faith you have in yourself.

Greg Asks: Hiya-- I saw Rocky Horror on Wednesday (for my partners birthday). Loved your performance (along with every one else) and just wanted to say thanks very much.
Sorry to hear of its closing--The whole cast put on a good show and it probably should have run for 10 years.....
Anyway--- You all helped many of us escape the nightmare for a few hours.... If real acting is the art of mentally transporting people away from thier daily concerns--you folks have mastered that. More than that, you all certainly got into the roles and into putting on a good show.
Again--thanks for a great night--and sorry the play did not last longer. Good luck in the future.
Greg Lambert
Sebastian: Greg. I can not express enough, my gratitude in the outpouring of support, that I have received from individuals such as yourself. It is truly a wonderful gift. Although our time was cut short , Rocky Horror is an experience that has changed me forever both personally and profesionally.

Eric Asks: Hey Sebastian:
Sorry to hear that Rocky Horror Show closed. I am glad I got to see ya'lls proformance back in the Spring when I did. It was an awsome evening. What do you have lined up next? Just closed A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORRUM down here in Virginia, and now getting geared up for JOSEPH/DREAMCOAT. (not many parts for bodybuilders in shows so I take what I can get) Again sorry about Rocky Closing it was a great show and cast.
Sincerly;
Eric Russell
Sebastian: Eric. We did have something extremely special and unique. I think it's incredible how the show affects people. It touches them somehow. I think it frees them, if for only for the two hours they are at the theater. I'm working on a play right now with a small theater company in town. It's a comedy and I am really having fun with it. I'm planning to return to Rocky Horror when it reopens on Halloween. So, it looks like we still have a little bit of life left in the show. Congrats on your new gig.

Willie Asks: hi; your routine is very similar to mine, except i do cardio. i was wondering if you do cardio, as well. i was doing it everyday for an hor, but i was suggested to cut it down to a half hour 3x a week to get better results. you seem to have the results i want, so who better to ask. also: how long have you been working out? i have been at it for 6 years.
thank you
willie
Sebastian: Hey Willie. I don't do as much cardio as I should but I agree that a half hour, 3x a week is quite sufficient. It's great for the heart as well as keeping the bodyfat low. I have been hitting the gym for about ten years now. I only became serious about four years ago but I had established a really good base, so to speak.

Jennie Asks: Dear Sebastian,
I saw RHS last night (9-22) for the second time. You were absolutely fabulous - again! To be honest with you, the planning stages of going to RHS yesterday were very swift - we decided Thursday, since the show is closing today, to come again. Boy, am I glad we did!!!!
In the wake of the tragedy that has hit NYC and the rest of America, do you feel that all will return to normal for RHS later this year? It is such a shame that a show with such an outrageous cast, talent, energy and just fun has to come to an end.
You can bet that gorgeous body of yours that WHEN (not if) RHS comes back I will be there - with boa on!
Thanks for being wonderful & beautiful! God Bless America...
Jennie
Sebastian: Hey Jennie. We all had such a blast that night. Everything was on. The audience was great. All the jokes landed, it was magical. The show is planning to reopen so get your boa out. Most of the amazing cast is planning to return. I'm sure that with all the changes it will remain a special evening.

Monstre Sacre Asks: Dear Sebastian,
This is not a question. Rather, I just wanted to say that my heart goes out to you and all those affected by the events of September 11. I really wanted to see the show again before it closed ... however, that now appears impossible. I understand there is a possibility ROCKY may come back around Halloween and I hope I can make it in to see you again then.
Please keep us posted about the things your are doing. I have become a "regular" Sebasian fan.
Brightest Blessings, Sebastian.
Monstre Sacre
Sebastian: Monstre Sacre. I truly appreciate your kindness. I can't help but feel that we all have been affected by these deeds of anger and in our need to make sense of it all reach out to one another for comfort. There is something quite nurturing in that. It is my understanding, as well, that the producers are trying to coordinate a Halloween reopening, followed by a ten week limited engagement. It's a very courageous effort. I will keep everyone aware of any new events on my wesite, so keep checking in.

Lori Asks: Hi Sebastian, I saw the show on Sept. 21st. I loved it!!!! It was my first time seeing it and it was my brothers second. I'm disappointed that it's closing Sept 23rd because I wanted to see it again. I can't get the music out of my head. I enjoyed everything in the show. The whole cast is very talented and very funny. I haven't laughed so hard in the longest time. I just wanted to write you and let you know that I thought you were great and that you are sexy! Good luck to you in the future. If you can write me back and let me know if you are in any new shows or if Rocky reopens that would be wonderful.
Thanks, Lori
Sebastian: Hi Lori. You saw the show on a great night. All our shows that week were quite wonderful. There was quite an electric energy surging through the theater. We all felt it.

Dana Asks: Dear Mr. LaCause, I just saw you on Saturday Night Live. You looked AMAZING!! I'm so sorry that you weren't given more to do. Why were you in the back?? I made a tape for Donatella and will be giving it to her when I seen her next week in London. Obviously I think you're great on stage in Rocky Horror, and thought you were wonderful with Liza. Your site is really great too. Best of luck.
Just Another Fan, Dana
Sebastian: Hey Dana. Your email made me laugh. I had a blast doing SNL. I may have been in the back but I had the best camera positioning. It would have been nice to do more but unfortunately that was what the part was. I did my best to make the most of my cameo. The ironic thing about that whole situation is that I actually worked at a dinner party at Donnatella's eastside townhouse last year as a favor to my friend Ron who was the house manager. He said they wanted some hot guys to serve dinner; no previous experience necessary. She was entertaining her PR people to discuss their new men's campaighn. It was mentioned in Harpor's Bazar and they noted the wait staff as being a very goodlooking bunch of men. Hopefully one day I'll be able to be a guest instead of serving her espresso and fetching her cigarettes.

Carl Asks: Just wanted to write and thank you (and the rest of the cast) for a great evening. It was wonderful to sit for two hours and not think about you-know-what.
Anyway, as a voice teacher and opera singer (hey, somebody's gotta do it)! I thought it was great to see a dancer who could really sing -- and had a sound to match the physique -- good for the eyes and the ears!
Hope to see you in bigger roles, on stage and on film!
All the best,
Carl
Sebastian: Hey Carl. I'm glad we could offer some relief. I think we, the cast, felt the same way. It was nice having somewhere to go that took you into another dimension where there were no terrorist and no hate only acceptance and fun. I think I surprised a lot of people with my voice. Being in the ensemble doesn't really give you the opportunity to showcase all your talents so I was thrilled to be given the chance. Thanks.

Matt Asks: Re your hair color: In one response you justified it by the Greek Gods---More to the point, "Rocky Horror" is a spoof of 50's pop culture, and the then reigning "Greek God" (he of the perfect proportions) was Steve Reeves. He's also mentioned in the show as Frank N. Furter's jerk-off material ("visual," but "not too abysmal"), and therefore a very likely ideal upon which Rocky was based, and Reeves was a brunette..
Sebastian: Thanks. That's definitely another way to analyze the hair color.

Sanjiv Asks: dear sebastian,
were you always so muscular? when did you decide to seriously work out? i was impressed with your overall level of physique in the show. i really enjoyed the show, i saw it last sunday. it was funny and took my mind off the world trade center disaster. it was the first time i had been to the show. do you have other projects lined up for the future.
a fan, sanjiv
Sebastian: Hello Sanjiv, great name. I have always been in pretty good shape. I started training with weights when I was on the high school swim team and my life as a dancer kept me trim. Only recently though, within these past couple of years, did I really start to get serious with a more rigorous workout routine and a stricter diet. Not until I revved up the routine did I see a noteable difference in my physique. I'm glad the show could offer you some relief from the stress we all have endured over these past few weeks. As for future projects, I've had some good auditions lately and will keep everyone aprised of any updates

Ron Asks: Dear Sebastian, I had tix for Rocky Horror on October 12th......now it's closing & I'm very dissapointed. I did get to see you last February in the show, thankfully! I just wanted to wish you much luck in whatever show you are in next.......you're great!! You can bet that I'll be there to cheer you on. And thanks for the autographed picture.....again! Take care.....God bless. Ron
"Life is just a bowl of cherries...don't take it serious, life's too mysterious."
Sebastian: Hey Ron. We were all a bit taken off guard by the sudden closing of our show. It was an incredible year and it was disheartening to have it end so abruptly. Our closing week was thrilling though. It carried the energy of an opening week. The houses were packed with attentive and enthousiastic audiences and the cast was on fire.

Pegema Asks: I just saw you tonight (I had front row seats) & you were intense. You have
to do a solo CD....If you ever need a writer/producer for a demo just let me
know.
Sebastian: Hey Pegema. Thank you so much. I have many thoughts about doing a CD. It is definitely something I would be interested in pusuing. The first thing I need to do is figure out is what kind of music I have in me. I also would like to write some kind of one-man show but I need to think about what sort of story I want to tell. Life is full of opportunity and one of the toughest challenges is trying to get it to all fall into place.

Tim Asks: Hi Sebastian, I have seen Rocky twice now, and I love the photo that you signed for me. The news I hear is that Rocky is ending this week. Is that true? If so, what are your plans afterwards. I would love to see you in another role. Would you want to sing? Just a little note to say that I think you are great!
Tim
Sebastian: Hi Tim. I'm glad you like the photo. As you may already know the producers of the show are planning a 10 week reopening of Rocky Horror begining on Halloween. I have benn enjoying my time off by rehearsing for a play I'm doing this month, auditioning and trying to catch up on the mountain of email that has accumulated over the past month. I have only begun to make a small dent.

Paul Asks: I saw the Saturday 5pm show and you were terrific! Great Job and continued
success to you.
Paul
Sebastian: Thanks Paul. Rocky Horror was a wonderful experience. I could never have anticipated the impact it would have on people. I'm honored to be a part of that.

M Lauer Asks: Dear Sebastian:
Recently saw the show and really enjoyed your take on the character. Very charming. --- Anyway, I am writing to ask about your work out routine. I am taller and leaner and don't easily bulk up and am always intrigued by beefy guys like yourself. I am curious as to how much weight you actually use yourself. Also, do you only work each body ONCE a week?? For example: your chest. According to your schedule you work it on Mondays. On other days do you do anything at all for your chest? Push ups or anything? If so, how often and about how many? I realize that body types vary and genetics play a large part but come on.
Thanks again for your performance and keep up the great work.
Sincerely,
M Lauer
Sebastian: Hey M Lauer. Bulking up is an arduous task and in varying degrees is difficult for everyone. It is important to incorporate a lowfat and highprotein diet. Moderate your carb intake. Another key componant is to eat many meals throughout the day. If you are really serious about packing on muscle, the experts suggest eating every two hours. You've got to feed your muscles in order for them to grow. You can't expect to add muscle by simply working out harder while maintaining your previous eating habits. It's a way of life that for many of us is a change and a break of old habits. It also doesn't happen over night. I have been working out since I was in high school. I only got serious a few years ago but I had been gradually working on it for years. And yes, I only do chest once a week. I don't do "push ups or anything". If you want try doing your routine on a -four day on one day off- cycle. This way you work your muscles more. For example: Day 1, chest and triceps. Day 2, shoulders. Day 3 back and biceps. Day 4 Legs. Day 5 rest. Repeat. Your day off will vary from week to week. Work you abs on shoulder and leg days and work in cardio for 15 minutes on day 1 and 2. It is a much more intense routine. Give yoourself time. Rome wasn't built in a day either. Fitness mags are great sources for food intake. I hope this helps.

Cheryl Asks: Hi, I just saw you in the Rocky Horror Picture show today and let me just tell you it was amazing and you are amazing. I've seen you in Scream 2 and Tracy Takes On. I admire your talent. Not only being in the same room, but the first row (!!), of the Circle in the Square theatre with yourself, Daphne Rubin Vega, Dick Cavett, Terrence Mann, and the rest of the talented cast was such an honor. Rocky has now definitely moved up to my 2nd favorite broadway production (RENT will always be my favorite hehe). I just wanted to tell you that you were awesome.
-Cheryl
Sebastian: Cheryl. I guess number two will have to do, hehe. Experiencing the show from the first row is a lot to take in, I'm glad you had fun. We have a phenominal cast and I too felt honored to be working with them.

Terri Asks: Was just wondering if you do more than one set of each. Or do you only do it once and then that is it. For example, bench press 4 sets X 10 reps. Do you only do that once or more then once.
What do you usually drink while you work out? Do you drink water or something else?
Hope you have time to answer.
Terri Messina
Sebastian: Hey Terri. It's confusing when you ask if I do more than one set because yes, I do the number of sets indicated for each exercise. Doing 4 sets of 10 repetions on bench press is quite substantial. That means doing 10 reps and taking a 1-2 minute break is one set. Repeat that three more times. You don't need to do that entire cycle again. That would be doing 8 sets for one exercise and in my opinion that isn't neccessary. I hope that answers your question. I drink water while I workout. Some people drink sports drinks and that's OK too. I think the important issue is to stay hydrated.

Tracy Asks: sebastian, I think your great! and i love the rocky horror show. i haven't seen the show but i do have the recording and a good friend of mine saw the show last week and brought me back a program and that is how i found your website address which i might add is fantastic!!! anyway, my question is how long have you been training ? and how long did it take you to see the results of all your work?
thanks,
tracy
Sebastian: Hey Tracy. I started training with weights when I was in high school. I didn't get really serious until about four years ago. I began to see results after the first six months. Then about a year later I got even more serious and I saw results in as little as three months. The key is to stay focused on what goals you want to achieve.

Karen Asks: Hi, my name is Karen and to be honest I never really knew who you were until I went to see rocky. You're beautiful and you know it. I love that picture on your homepage on the left with the eye makeup and short hair. I was wondering if i could get that picture in a subway sized poster or anything bigger. You are a really......very goodlooking man. Though you seem to look older (when i say old i mean 27, i'm 19) in some of your pictures, you looked relatively young when I asked you to sign my poster. I wonder what you looked like when you were a teenager.
Karen
Sebastian: Hey Karen. It's OK that you didn't know who I was until you saw the show. You are amongst the majority. Rocky was my breakout role , so-to-speak. The picture you like was taken by Joe Oppedisano. He was the photographer that shot my Time Out New York cover. That picture is actually from that shoot. Yes, I am, in your words, "older". I had my 30th birthday this year. Wow. When did I become the "older man"? My looks in high school were, well to put it lightly, not quite realized so, I truly appreciate the compliment.

JP Asks: Hi, Thanks for the workout routine. I read about your routine from your TimeOut profile and the application of it definitely yielded positive results. My question is, what is your recommendation for diet?
Will try to catch the show again since I saw it on my birthday during Labor Day weekend and you were on vacation.
I've checked out the other Rocky's on the web and you are definitely the best one.
JP
Sebastian: Hi JP. It's good to hear that you have been seeing results with my workout. Keep up the good work, you'll be happy you did. Diet is a very important factor in the formula. Not diet in the sense that you follow a program until you reach a desired result and then alter you eating habits but diet in the sense of establishing a regimented healthy way of eating. The one I follow is quite simple. I choose a low-fat, high-protein and moderate carbohydrate combination. I'm not a number counter, meaning I don't count calories. I eat a lot of chicken rice and vegetables and chicken rice and beans. Stir-fryes are great too, just mix your favorite vegeies, such as, broccoli, peppers, stringbeans, asparagus with 8 oz of chicken or for variety, flank or hanger steak over rice. You can buy lots of different flavors of stir-fry sauces. Have eggwhites and turkey or chicken sausages in the morning, drink protein shakes after your workouts. It's really just trial and error. Fitness magazines usually have recipes in the back. Eat smart and you'll do just fine. I will also say that I am a firm believer of having one day a week where you can splurge. This doesn't mean to overeat but allowing yourself to indulge in some cravings.

What is the music which you danced on the Broadway Bares XI? I loved that! I will go to New York next month and can't wait to see you and RHS again.
SAYONRA(bye),

Sebastian: Hey Yuka. The song I danced to at the most recent Broadway Bares was N'Sync's, 'Spacecowboy'. Glad you liked it.

Mike Asks: Hi,
I was looking at your website at specifically at your fitness routine. What
kind of ab exercises do you do 3x a week?
Thanks,
Mike
Sebastian: Hey Mike. Unfortunately, it would take a lengthly, long-winded explanation to clearly communicate my ab routine and I don't even know if I could do it without confusing you. So, I'll give you some tips. Think of training you abs like you train the other muscles in your body. Do slow concentrated repetitions that isolate the different abdominal muscles. I prefer doing a slow set of 15 crunches holding for a three count rather than 100 or 200 reps. Make sure to work you obliques, which are the side muscles, and do a set that works your lower abdominal region. Experiment and watch others at your gym. Design a regiment that is a compilation of you favorite crunches that work each specific abdominal muscle group. I hope that helps.

Traciann Asks: Hello Sebastian!
First off...your new website looks tremendous...great job on the whole thing! Definitely one of the nicest sites I have ever visited!!
I just have to tell you how much I enjoy your show and I have seen it now 8 times. I live in NJ...very close to the city and everytime I have an out of town guest, they pick your show to see...I never complain! I saw it first in December of 1999...and what I find so amazing is how much you guys have developed your characters in the past months. Even though I have seen it many times, it always feels like the first time. The show is never the same. I also want to say that you have to be one of the nicest actors out there. I have met you a few times and you couldn't be any nicer! You take time to visit with anyone who wants to talk when I am sure what you really want to do is get home or where ever else you are headed! So, thank you for that time you spend! Thank you for making your fans feel as special as you are to us!
I have 2 questions if you don't mind....first...I see you just had a vacation...did you really rest, or was it work related...what is a great vacation for you?? And my second question is..how do you get yourself pumped up to to the same show day after day?? Is it ever hard to get motivated. Because each time I have seen the show, you guys always seem so energized and full of life!
Thanks again for all the enjoyment you have given us and I wish you only luck and good things in your future!
Hugs,
Traciann
Sebastian: Hey Traciann. You are too sweet. Thank you for those kind words. I know you sent this awhile ago and I am rereading it as I am answering it now. It couldn't have come at a better time. I recently just received my very first peice of hate mail. The person who wrote it used words to attack me personally in every aspect of the word from my race to my mother to my body to my acting skills. They accused me of ignoring a request for an autograph. It was full of hate and any pscychology major would tell me it was a classic case of projection. He was a total crackpot. So, I wholeheartedly thank you for sharing. Anyway, my vacation was great! I went out to my uncle's beach condo and did nothing for two weeks. It was blissful. Sometimes it's hard to muster the energy but somehow you always find it. When you really love what you do It's easy to have fun.

Stan Asks: Hey Sebastian!!!
I finally saw Rocky Horror tonight! You guys were great! It was such a fun show. The theater was a lot smaller than it looks on the website but I thought it was perfect for the show. I think no matter where you sit (or stand) you'll have a great view.
I decided to come to the show at about 4:30pm Friday night. I was on my way to the memorial they were having for Aaliyah and I thought I would try and get a ticket for the show. Well the Aaliyah memorial was packed and the line went around the block. It was about 7pm and it was going to close at 8pm so I just went to the theater. The cool thing was that... I was going to buy a standing room ticket but the Asian guy with the English accent at the ticket booth, saw that there was a rush seat available and he gave me that seat. It was great, I was 3 rows from the center and 3 seats from the stage. I had an aisle seat. It was such a cool experience because of the interaction between the actors and the audience. I had 3 of the actors come up to me. One of them was Jonathan Sharp. It was kind of weird because he jumped up on my armrest and he was kind of "in" my face. Then he preceded to lay on top of us. Quite interesting. Later on during the show Dick passed me and told me not t!
o be so shocked. I think that was
after he gave the finger to that guy. I wasn't shocked it was just so funny.
Thanks for stopping and giving me your autograph. I was the guy with the orange shirt in front of the theater. I was standing there with those people that asked if you shaved or waxed. They don't believe that you shave. They think you wax.
But anyway I just had a really good night! I loved the show and will definately come to see it again. And again thanks for the autograph. I know this was a bit long, but i'm at work, it's late and I just wanted to write.
Thanks,
:)Stan
Sebastian: Hey Stan. I swear I shave!! I swear!! I tried waxing when we first opened but it was way too painful, I couldn't hack it. I was too weak. So, I opted to shave every three days. Kudos on the good ticket karma. That always helps. Yes, Jonathan is over the top but that's all part of his charm. Glad you enjoyed the autograph.

Cheryl Asks: Hey Sebastian,
I have two very quick questions. I would like to know if you've ever done any Music Video work? I would also like to know when your last show is with "THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW." Have they renewed your contract? I want to make sure that you're preforming when I come to see it.
Sebastian: Hello Cheryl. By the time I got to L.A., in 1992, the dance video genre had dwindled down to obscure pop groups whos videos never quite made it to MTV. I did one of those and a video for some Jon Secada song that I can't even recall. I did do a fair amount of award shows ranging from the very first VH-1 Fashion Awards with Prince, Th Academy Awards, The Billboard Awards with Tina Turner, The 1995 Britt awards with Madonna to The Jackson Family Honors and many more. As I'm sure you must know by now, Rocky Horror closed it's doors this past Sunday, the 23rd of September. We were hit hard by the attendance slump in Broadway theaters that followed the attacks on The World Trade towers. We did have an incredible last week though. We were sold out every night and the shows were extraordinary.

Raquelle Asks: Hey, my name is Raquelle from Hong Kong, now in New York. I hope you had a relaxing holiday. Just a short note to tell you that when I saw you with Liza in MOM 2 years you sometimes stole the show from her with your strong presence and really interesting singing voice. Absolutely great in Rocky. Thank you for the fitness routine, I will try to follow it but I'm sure you do owe a lot of your great physique to dancing too. Finally, how very decent of you to take the time to answer to all those messages. I hope you'll be able to keep doing it when you're a great star, which will hopefully happen very soon. You seem to be the living proof that hard work, talent and a good soul can land you a part in a Broadway show. Bravo !
Raquelle
Sebastian: Hey Raquelle, great name. I'm so glad you enjoyed MOM. I had such a great time working with Liza. She has a big heart and a warm soul and was a lot of fun. I do owe a lot of my physicality to dancing it has given me long muscles and great flexibilty. I will say though that I would never have acheived the fitness level I am at today without that rigorous workout routine and a lowfat and high protein diet. That really made a difference. I was never able to pack on the lean muscle without it. I enjoy answering the messages but they have become a little overwhelming. If I don't keep up on them they can really pile up, like now. I am really behind. I have about 60 to go. Now that the show is closing I should be able to catch up. Thanks so much for your encouraging words.

Christopher Asks: Hello Sebastian, I hope this finds you well. I wanted to praise you a moment and tell you how much respect I have for you and your talents. I've seen "Rocky" many times and love all of the cast and always leave wanting more. I met you outside with all of your many other fans and was so thrilled to find you just as wonderful as a person. You have also inspired me to get healthy and I have already quit smoking and began the grueling working out process. Sometimes we need a role model and after watching you I got my inspiration. Who knows, maybe someday you'll recieve a before and after photo of me. Do you plan to stay in the show for a while(I hope) or any plans of leaving for other things? Please stay well and thank-you.
Sincerely,Christopher
Sebastian: Hey Christopher. I'm happy to hear that I have motivated you to get fit. Once you get past that grueling begining phase the benefits will soon shine through. You will not only feel better and have more energy but you'll have a new found innerstrength. I was planning to stay with the show for another few months but as I'm sure you already know, due to the staggering effects of the attacks on the nation we are forced to close our doors. It's infuriating that something so heinous has taken so much from us. I'm trying to move forward, as we all are, as best that I can.

Kelly Asks: Dear Sebastian,
I saw you as Rocky in RHS, and would like to tell you that you were GREAT! You are really an inspiration to me! I was wondering if you would be able to give me some advice? I am an actress who is getting really depressed about not getting a break yet, I've been in the business for 6 years and have yet to get a lead role. Can you tell me how I can improve my skills? Thank you and Good luck in Rocky and all your future projects!
Kelly
Sebastian: Kelly. I know that this business can be very frustrating. We, as actors, work very hard, sometimes all our lives, to be constantly judged and scrutinized. Constantly hoping that one day someone will see how talented we trully are. It's hard for me to asses your situation without knowing you and knowing what you have been doing over the years. I don't know if there is a sure-fire formula. There are so many factors that come into play and being the most talented is not always one of them. When I wanted to break into doing roles the first decision I made was to stop doing chorus work. Don't even audition for it. I think casting agents want to make thier job as easy as possible and keeping people in categories is one way that they don't have to think. I was willing to take the risk of not working and getting a bartending job, which I did, to strictly pursue acting. I then emersed myself in acting. I started submitting myself for plays and movies in Backstage. I auditioned for every summer theater I could. I was rejected by them all but I wanted the practice of auditioning as an actor. I could audition as a dancer or singer, no problem but I was still green at auditioning as an actor. I took a Shakespeare monolouge class at Stella Adler. Then I enrolled in the two-year professional program at The Atlantic Theater Co. (which I had to drop out of because I was cast as Rocky Horror). I started networking. I talked to anyone in the business who would talk to me about what I should be doing and told them I no longer wanted chorus work. I called a casting agent who I knew liked my work and asked for advice. I met with a friend of a friend who makes independent films. I tried to neet as many people as I could. I was being proactive instead of waiting for my agent to call with an audition. Eventually I got Rocky. All you can do is believe in yourself and fight for what you want.

Lindsay Asks: Hi! I'm just another Rocky Horror junkie. I don't know if you're going to read this, or even e-mail me back, but I'm always open!
I saw RHS for my first time on August 10th! Wow! I had one of the best nights of my life! It was incredible! I don't know if you saw me, but I was in seat 112, row AA... I was wearing a black shirt that said REGULAR FRANKIE FAN, shorts and fishnets... ^_^ I didn't get a chance to meet you (which I will hopefully change!), but I have met Tom, Jarrod, Jonathon Sharp and some other Transylvanians. I attended Camp Broadway August 6th - 10th, and Raúl Esparza was a guest there on the 9th, so I met him there (and nearly died).
Well, what is there to say? I loved it! My favourites were always Riffy and Frank, but your performance of Rocky was astounding! I'm leaning more towards the Broadway show because I'd rather watch it live and interact with the actors then watch it in my room. My favourite scene was definitely Toucha-Toucha-Touch me, when someone yelled what's a yacht used for!. And then you said for boating!, which made everyone laugh, including you and Kristen. And to quote you "that one gets us every time..." ^_^ I had so much fun - it was different then what I expected, but it was fabulous and I had the greatest time.
My mom and I are both planning to see this over and over, and once we get a date, I'll tell you! Before I go, I must say that you are GORGEOUS and I love the website. I don't know if you get tons of fan mail or e-mails, so I'm taking a shot in the dark, but feel free to e-mail me back.. and my screen name is RoCkYHoRoRShOW (that's a little in left field, but I don't know!)
Thanx!
All her love,
~Lindsay~
Sebastian: Lindsay. The very first time someone yelled out, "What's a yacht for?'' before I say, "foreboding" I totally cracked up on stage. When they said it, the context did not register at all. But as soon as the word "foreboding " was out of my mouth I couldn't contain my laughter. We had been doing the show for about nine months already so, at that point, I had heard just about every comment a million times and none of them were no longer funny to me. So, to be surprised like that was absolutely refreshing.

John Asks: Mr. LaCause.
the new format of the site is awesome! I just got a DVD player, and the first disc I purchased was SHOWGIRLS. truly a nouveau classic. was it as much of a hoot to make as it is to watch? is there a story you can share with us about filming? maybe a funny (or not so funny) moment? also, do you like to go out to clubs and dance, or do you get your fill in the show? what type of music gets you moving? take care and thanks.
John
Sebastian: John. Making 'Showgirls' was definetly one of the highlights of my dance career. It was the biggest gigs of the year for any dancer in L.A. Everyone wanted to be working on it. I was thrilled to have been cast in one of the bit parts as well. Most of the really good stories are way to juicey for me to share. There was a lot of drama on that set. Not neccessarily bad drama but drama. Cat fights, alcohol, drugs, sex, ego battles, all the ingredients needed for a trashy Jackie Collins novel. Just rest asured that a great deal of fun and money was had by all. My clubbing days are mostly behind me now but a great house beat or some tribal funk is sure to get me on the dance floor.

Andy Asks: I just saw Rocky... a week and a half ago. You were great! I'm excited that all e-mails will be answered. I wrote to the incredible Heather Headley after I saw Aida, and she never wrote back. Anyway, congratulations on the show's success. The direction and design were both very innovative and all performances were strong. I was a little upset to miss Alice Ripley, but I still enjoyed Kristen Lee Kelley's performance. I even just bought the CD even though I already had the film soundtrack so I could hear you guys repeatedly. Upon reading the playbill, I was quite excited to learn that you went to Tisch. I'm starting there as a freshman on Aug. 26th. What studio were you in? CAP21? I'll be in Playwrights Horizons. Anyhow, thank you for your amazing performance. You are incredibly talented. Maybe I'll direct you someday. But, drama boys who actually write these e-mails don't actually end up making it, do they? But, hey, I got into Tisch, so who knows? Can't wait to be at NYU so I can see Rocky...and all Broadway stuff more (I'll be much closer). Bye bye.
Sebastian: Try not to be so hard on Heather. There could have been a number of reasons why you never heard back from her. Sometimes people have absolutely good intentions and life simply gets in the way. I never could have predicted the kind of response I was to receive from the Rocky fans. At times, the simple task of answering e-mail can seem quite daunting. Trying to decide what to write, how to answer an offensive question someone may ask or finding the time are all elements to factor in. I know I have to "be in the mood" to write or it ends up being work. I actually was a dace major at Tisch. My life revolved around ballet and modern dance classes. I didn't study at the acting studios. I wish I had but I didn't "find" acting until later.

Ron Asks: Hi Sebastian
I saw you in Chicago a few years ago and enjoyed the show very much. Hope to get to see you in Rocky too! My question: As a dancer I know you must have great overall flexibility
.can you share with me your stretching routine? How often do you stretch? What areas do you focus on? What stretches would you recommend? What are your favorite stretches? Thanks Sebastian!
Ron
Sebastian: Ron. My srtrecthing routine has really been edited down to the basics since I have not been dancing much lately. I usually don't like to start my workouts until I have been able to warm up my back a bit first, no matter what body part I am working on that particulr day. Then I like to do various stretches on whatever muscle I am focusing on during my workouts. I do them between sets to keep my muscles loose and to reduce soreness. I don't have a set routine. Check out the class schedule at your gym. They will most likely have some type of stretch classes. Yoga is another alternative. Yoga will stretch and strengthen. This way you can learn hands on and can easy incorporate what fits your needs into your routine.

Kelly Asks: Hey Sebastian! I was in NYC for the summer, and I attended the Rocky show pretty frequently. I don't know if you remember me, but I was friends with Billy (B.), and my distinguishing mark was my red hair. Anyway...I just want to say first, I LOVE your new website-truly excellent. Your pictures are incredible, and it's great to see your workout routine! Finally, I wanted to send a big thanks your way. You were nothing but charming each time I met or pestered you after the show. I wish you lots of luck in your future endeavors, and with the rest of Rocky!
Peace In God's Love,
Kelly
Sebastian: Kelly. Of course I remember you and your red hair. No need to thank me but it's nice to be appreciated. It's good to know that Rocky Horror helped make your summer in NYC a memmoreable one. I am so thrilled with the new site. Blu-dot did an amazing job, exceding all my expextations.

Janelle Asks: What's Up Sebastian. Let me just say that I've gone to Rocky twice and I plan on going again and again. You are a fabulous singer, actor, dancer and one hot guy. I've written to you at the Circle On The Square Theater and I hope you respond. I'd like to ask you one question though, of all the performances you done on stage or in movies, which is your absolute favorite and why? Keep up the good work. Love, Janelle.
Sebastian: Hey Janelle. It's really difficult to single out one absolute favorite. I have had some very exciting opportunities over the last couple of years. Among my favorites would be performing with Madonna, playing Fred Casely in 'Chicago' and breathing life into Rocky eight times a week. Playing Rocky Horror may be the ultimate thus far because with this project, for the very first time, I am able to stand up on my own two feet and say "This is what I have to bring to the table".

John Asks: Mr. LaCause, hope you are well. The new format of your site is awesome. Really user friendly (which is a plus for a novice like me) and tons of great pictures. Sent a request for a photo a few weeks ago. There is a spot on the wall waiting for it. Hope to see you in the show again soon. Best of luck.
p.s. just got the DVD of SHOWGIRLS. hope it was as much of a hoot to do as it is to watch.
Sebastian: Hey John. I just sent out a big batch of autographed pictures and I believe your was one of them. Sit tight, it should be arriving shortly and that empty space on your wall will soon have an occupant. Shooting 'Showgirls' was an absolute riot.. There were always jokes being made and lots of fun being had.

Joe Asks: Hi Sebastian! I just saw the show this past Sunday (August 5th), and I could not believe how great it was! Even if I wasn't such a Rocky Horror fan, I still would have enjoyed the show simply because it was such an excellent production. The fact that we had front row seats made it that much better. I doubt you'd remember, but you were almost directly in front of us during 'I'm Going Home' (I had on an obscenely sparkly, shiny bright blue shirt). It was hilarious when Jonathan Sharp, who was playing Frank that day, at the end when he got blasted with the laser and was flopping around along the railing, leaned in close to my friend and said he'd f**k him if he didn't have to die. Your performance was excellent as well! You definately put an interesting spin on Rocky and made him your own character. It's obvious that you got the role because you could actually act and sing, not just look the part. We waited outside after the show with a bunch of others, but the only people to come out were Jonathan Sharp, James Stovall, and Asa Somers. We were glad to meet them, but disappointed nobody else came out, especially since you were one of the main people we were hoping to meet and get an autograph & picture with. We figured you were all probably rushing to a going away party for Luke Perry, but it was still kind of a bummer. We were discouraged when we saw there were three understudies in the show that day, but everybody was absolutely wonderful! We said the worst part was that there was no possible way we could go back to our friends and use words to describe how great the show was. Anyways, you were totally fantastic in the show, so thank you for making the 10-hour busride it took us to get to NYC more than worth it! Good luck and good health in the future.
~Just Joe
Sebastian: Hey Just Joe. Wow a 10 hour busride! I'm glad we made it worth the trip. I'm sorry that you didn't get the chance to meet me but I don't always feel comfortable exiting through the crowd. I still have a little bit of the humble Ohio boy inside and sometimes it's easier to sneak out. At times I don't feel as though people really want to meet me anyway, so if I sneak out I don't have to deal with rejection from the autograph seekers. I'm glad you enjoyed my performance "as well" as Jonathan's. Send me a self addressed stamped envelope to the theater and I'll get you an autographed picture.

Jack Asks: Dear Mr. LaCause,
I really donít know what to say to you to make this e-mail stand out from all the others, so Iíll just include the normal things. First of all, my name is Jack and Iím eighteen. Iíve seen the show three times and Iím a really big fan. I know you hear this in everyone, but you are a very attractive guy and have a perfect body. I also really enjoy your voice. All right, well I donít want to sound like a stalker so Iíll end my very generic e-mail by saying keep up the good work (and stop getting injured). Hope to hear from you.
- Jack
Sebastian: Hey Jack. I would say three times makes you a bonafide Rocky fan! It's easy to enjoy a show that is so full of life and talent and gorgeous people. I will try to do my best in staying injury-free, keep your fingers crossed for me. Thanks bud.

Katie Asks: Hey Sebastian!! How goes it? I saw you in Rocky in April, and it was just fantastic! I want to go back up to New York to see the show again. I've been begging my parents for us to take a family trip up there. If I do go, it probably wont be until next summer. And I was just wondering if you knew if the show would still be playing like next June or July. I'm sure it will because it is so awesome, but I wanted to check with you to make sure I could see your beautiful body again. :) Well thanks a bunch. Good luck to you with everything
Katie
Sebastian: Hey Katie. Well, it's really hard to judge the life span of a show. When people stop buying tickets it becomes difficult to keep the show open. August is typically not a great month for Broadway boxoffices and our attendance is backing up that theory. Since Luke left the show our houses have been very weak. Our show needs stars with great mass appeal to fill the seats. As far as I know, they still haven't found anyone to replace Tom Hewitt when he leaves on August 19th. Frank n' Furter is the glue that holds the show together and without a strong Frank the show falls apart. Ana Gasteyer is soon to depart as well. Then Mark Price leaves at the end of August. From what I hear they are having difficulty casting those roles and are bound to have the understudies take over. I guess what I am saying Katie is that our future looks shaky. Predicting that we will be around next summer is probably a long shot. Try not to despair, you did have the chance to experience the magic of Rocky when it was great. Thanks for writing.

Jaclyn-Kay Tommy Asks: Dear Sebastian~
My friend Steve and I are big fans of the show . Steve's seen the show 10times, and I've seen it six. And believe me we'll be back. We actually have a friend in the company, Jonathan S. But anyway. I have to tell you I saw the show one night, I think it was at the end of July, when you and Alice we're goofing around and really improving as she slapped your pecs :) And I have never laughed harder! You are an awesome actor! I never really liked the song, "The Sword of Damocles", but when you sing it I love it! One quick question...and I realize this is kinda personal. But are you able to wear a dance belt under you "costume" ?? How do you...ehh...hold yourself in that little thing? Just curious! Thanks for your time! See you next time, and have an awesome vacation!
Jaclyn-KayTommy
Sebastian: Hey Jaclyn-Kay. I love acting with Alice. She has an openness to new ideas and the incredible talent to back it up. Working with her has made me better. I am also glad that you like "Sword of Damocles". It is probably the least known or liked song from the show. I have tried to make it more interesting by playing around with the melody and adding some fun rock n' roll riffs. It is, now, a bit different than the original and more fun to sing too. Now, as far as "holding myself in" the costume...come on. It's like wearing a speedo. They designed it so I wouldn't have to worry about popping out.

Tommy Asks: Dearest Sebastian,
It's taking my tons of guts to write you this email. I have been a fan of yours since I saw you in Once upon a Matress since then I have been admiring your work. It wasn't until August 1st 2001 I was able to Rocky Horror. This past April my mother had passed away due to Cancer and I was crushed. My dreams have always been to be on Broadway. I always was told that I have what it takes to be a star, but I never believed. Once my mother passed I stopped pursuing my dream b/c I knew my mother would not be able to wittness me perform. Over the summer I worked in Disney world where I was able to play Prince Charming, I ended up hating it and quiting, at that point I was ready to quit even more. When I saw you perform in Rocky you brought back the magic I had inside to push myself harder and that my mothers death should make me want to make my dream a reality. This email is to say Thank You for making me realize that I should never let go of my dreams. Even though you are proably wondering how you help it is b/c I saw the love of performing in your eyes and it reminded me that I am the same. Unfortnatly you will be on Vacation throught my last two weeks here home in NYC b/c I will be returning to school... I just want you to know if you ever feel upset about anything that to Remember that you Help Tommy a 19 year old realized hes passion for Musical Theatre and that only you yourself can pursue your own dreams...
Thank you very much
Much Love Your #1 Fan
Tommy
Sebastian: Tommy. Thank you so much for that wonderful e-mail. I was quite touched by your willingness to share such a personal story. Words can not describe the elation I felt. Rocky Horror is such a strange breed of show and sometimes it is difficult to not feel unappreciated by an audience that yells comments, that on at least one occasion, has been hurtful or disrespectful. When I read your letter and discovered that I had inspired someone as I had you, the baggage from those unrelenting participants melted away. You helped me realize that impudent audience members are triffling. For that, I thank you. Your mother will always be apart of you. She lives forever in your memmories and in your heart. I wish you much success in your endeavors through life and always believe in your gifts and trust your instincts.

Dara Asks: Hi Sebastian ~ I've seen you 3 times in RHS, and the second time I was sitting in the rush seats on house left. At one point you were standing right there and I was so tempted to pinch your butt because it was right in my face, but then I thought, nah. :) Anyway, I don't want to bother you with any silly questions I might have, but I'd like to take this time to tell you what a wonderful job you're doing as Rocky. Oh, also, did you by any chance receive a pacifier from a certain Dara & Ryan? Because, well, that Dara would be...me. :) Rock on! ~Dara~
Sebastian: Dara. I actually have the pacifier you gave me in my dressingroom. It is prominantly displayed on top of my "Rocky Horror" minature, that's still in its box. I see it everyday. Thanks for not pinching my butt. Someone did grab it once and I did not appreciate it. I'm glad you like the show.

Patrick Asks: Dear Sebastian: I am planning to be in NYC the week of August 13th-17th and am EXTREMLY excited about seeing Rocky Horror!!! I was sad to hear that you will not be with the show that week! Anyway, I would like to meet the cast after the show and was wondering where the stage door for the theatre was located?? I would appreciate it you could tell me!
Thanks!
Patrick
P.S. What is Ana Gasteryer like to work with? I love her and am excited about meeting her. Luke Perry must be cool to work with as well, right?
Did his engagment get extended from July 29th to August 5th?
Sebastian: Patrick. Well, you may be in luck. I had to make a slight change in my vacation plans. If you are planning to see the show early in the week, you just may catch me. I will be performing on Tues. and Wed. of that week. My vacation will commence on the 16th of August and will go untill the 29th. The best place to meet most of the cast is by waiting outside the revolving doors to the right of the lobby. I absolutely love and admire Ana. She is intuitive, smart and incesantly funny. Her ingenius talent teaches and inspires me everyday. Yes, Luke was extended through August 5th. He is cool incarnate. We will miss him.

Mike Asks: Hey Sebastian, Was that you in US Weekly from a few weeks back (the photo of Tom and Luke's opening night)? If it was , the brown hair really makes you look different . I am sure it is you , but just wanted to confirm it. I think you are great in RHS , and hope I get back to see you b4 you leave . Update your website with a few pics , will ya ! The fans are growing impatient . see ya, Mike
Sebastian: Mike. Yeah man, that was me in US Weekly. Haircolor does has a dramatic effect in appearance. My new website is in the final touches phaze. It promises to be an awesome site with lots of new pictures. So be patient, getting everything together takes time. I'm hoping the site will be launched within the next couple of days. Stay tuned.

Sarah Asks: I saw you perform the first week Rocky opened... It was asome, but I recently came back with Luke Perry starring in it.. You guys are even better now... It was AWSOME!!! You are one.... well I'll keep it to myself... RENT and Rocky are my 2 fav shows to see... So, if you're ever in RENT (like Daphni) let your fans know cause... you are one talented freaky deaky guy!!!
Love Ya,
Sarah
Sebastian: Thanks Sarah. The show has really grown since we first opened. Everyone has really sunk into their roles and found some really interesting elements to play. I'm glad you noticed the difference. I don't know if 'Rent" is in my future. I think I'm getting a little too old for those roles. I had a couple of really great auditions for Angel a few years back, when I was younger and skinnier, but I guess it was never in the cards for me. Thanks again...ya know, I've never been called "freaky deaky" before...cool!

John Asks: Hey, I attended the 7/21 performance of RHS and you were not in it :(. The understudy did a pretty good job, not as good as u though. My main question is, and this also goes with Chicago too, because I saw that the night before and loved it, but I think that I would be very self conscience wearing that costume in front of people. Did you feel that way at first? Also, when I went to Chicago It really looked like the guys stuffed their crotches...ha ha I know that sounds dumb but have you ever heard of that? Also, if you could tell Ana that she was absolutely hilarious when she was "high" in the show. I think that the 9:45 show that I attended that night, she was excellent. Well, thanks for taking time answering my questions and I would really like to get to know you so please email me back.
Your fan,
John
Sebastian: Hey John. Sorry you missed me. I was out due to a pulled muscle. All is well now and I am back in the show. It is very nice to be missed by fans though, thank you. Performing in such a revealing outfit is not as bad as it may seem. In fact, I kinda like it. I was a complete geek in high school so it feels good to finally be admired. As far as the guys stuffing their crotches. Sorry man, but I have no idea. You'll have to ask them. Ana is absolutely hilarious. I will pass on your remarks to her.

Adam Asks: Hey Seastian My name is Adam and i was at the Rocky horror picture show this past saturday, July 21, 2001. It was the best show i have ever seen in my life, but someone was missing you . I was in time square before the show and i saw you with two other cast members and you were limpin a bit and i wanted to know if you are ok. You dont have to stop the show do you? I hope you can get right back in to it and i want to know if you will be there still in september because me and a couple of friends of mine will be back. So keep up the good work. Oh yeah i wanted to tell you that john did a really good job in your place but i think you are the reall rocky . Hope to hear from you soon and i cant wait to finally so you as Rocky.
Great Job Sebastian!!!
ADAM
Sebastian: Thanks Adam. I don't like to miss performances but sometimes you have no choice. I had a pulled back muscle that went into spasm. But that was a couple of weeks ago and I am doing great now. I will still be in the show in September so you and your friends will have the chance to see me then. It is really nice to hear that I was missed. I appreciate that. Thanks again.

Margarete Asks: Hey! Well I'm sure that you get tons of emails telling you how great you are but I had to tell you how much I enjoyed seeing you, and everyone else, in The Rocky Horror Show. Although I had seen seen the movie a million times I was a "virgin" going in to see the performance on thursday night becuase I had never seen it live. WOW, what a huge difference! I love the movie but it was nothing compared to what I saw thursday night. Obvioulsy going from seeing "Rocky the mute" in the movie to seeing you was a huge difference. You have an amazing voice, are very funny, and VERY hot. You also seem nice since while waiting outside the theatre I saw you walking in a sort of muttered "Rocky" and you turned and smiled. Now I wish that I had asked for a picture with you but oh well. Oh yeah I have two questions. The cast seems to have so much chemestry on the stage, do you guys get along really well off stage? Also, I saw you perform on thurday and you said that you got hurt on thursday did you pull you're back during the performance? Well I hope that eventually I get to see Rocky Horror live again but if not I'm so thankful that I got to see it at all.
Thanks
Margarete
Sebastian: Hi Margarete. I work with an amazing group of individuals. We are like family. Everyday they inspire and awe me with their talents. I talk to them about almost everything and we have shared many laughs backstage. I did not injure my back during the show. It was bothering me prior to the performance. Doing the show that night only made it worse. I had my first accupuncture experience which was quite incredible and my back feels great now.

Clemenza Asks: Hey Sebastian!
I've you in RHS twice (so far!) and you are positively excellent in the title roll! I noticed that you have dyed your bleached blond hair more to your natural color. I've bleached my hair in the past, so I know the damage that it can cause. What did it do to your hair? Do you feel special that the words of Sweet Transvestite we changed to suit you?
I love your work,
Clemenza
Sebastian: Clemenza. Thanks for shining some perspective on it for me. I actually never thought of it like that. I am very happy that the producers agreed to let Rocky have dark hair. I don't think his hair color is his most important feature. PLus, I feel the days of thinking of a blond haired blue eyed male as the ideal are over. Celebrating my ethnicity instead of trying to conceal it is a step in the right direction.

Monstre Sacre Asks: Hi, Sebastian. I saw the show on Wednesday the 11th matinee. Seriously, what a great time! I'd never seen the show live before and it was so much fun. Everyone was excellent in their roles (including Luke Perry ... Clive Barnes review be damned). I promptly ordered the CD and have been listening to it in the car this week. I love what you do with "Sword of Damocles" and "Rose Tint My World." I look forward to coming back to see the show again probably in late August or September. I see more recordings and leading roles for you in the future (the idea of you as Stanley in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE makes my mouth water).
You seem to have worked with so many famous performers! Liza, Chita, Tina, Madonna ... what was it like? You must have some great stories!
I would love to purchase some of the Broadway Cares tapes. Do they have a website? Unfortunately, I am out of town and get in seldom. Actually, I plugged your name into amazon.com last weeky (after ordering the ROCKY CD) and a Playmate video came up!
Looking forward to seeing you in many things in the future. In watching you perform on the 11th, I can tell that you are on the right path. The decision to follow acting (and singing) is the right one for you. Follow the stars. Don't look back.
The Brightest of Blessings to you, Sebastian.
Monstre Sacre
Sebastian: Monstre Sacre. First and foremost the Playmate video I was in was is hilarious. I dance the jitterbug with one of the tripletts featured in the video. I had forgotten all about that. I have been fortunate to have worked with some very incredible women. My favorites were Chita, Liza and Madonna. Chita is my girl. Just saying her name fills me with delight. She has a most infectious laugh and a joy for life that is utterly inspiring. Liza is such a hard worker and has a generous heart. When I first worked with her at the Oscars a few years back, she invited myself and the other three guys to a piano bar in Burbank, CA for drinks with her and her friend Michael Feinstein. We ended up getting an impromptu concert with her belting out tunes while Feinstein banged on the ivory. When I performed with Madonna at the 95 Britt Awards, while we were waiting to go on she confessed her love for the dance called the ''Roger Rabbit". I can still see her doing that dance in her blue Versace gown and those long blond hair extensions.

Janell Asks: Hey Sebastian, I've seen Rocky Horror twice and you have been outstanding both times. First, I must say that you have an incredible singing voice and your a very talented actor. Not many people can get up on stage in a skimpy outfit and perform like you do. Second, are you planning to be in any other plays or movies? Keep up the good work.
Love, Janelle
Sebastian: Hey Janelle. I am currently pursuing a career in film and I would live to do a play. Eventhough I have been in the business for ten years, I was primarily a dancer. I am in what one would call the "transitional" period. It kinda sucks. It's like starting all over again. I have a whole new set of casting directors and such to introduce myself to as an actor. It's a constant uphill battle. At this very moment I am starring in a Broadway show but it still doesn't guarantee me an easy transition or a future in acting. All I can do is be proactive in my struggle, create opportunity and live my life one day at a time.

Katie Asks: Sebastian: Hi, my name is Katie, and Im 16. In April I went to New York for a school trip. At this time Ive never see the Rocky Horror Picture Show before. Id heard of it, but didnt really know what it was about. The purpose for us going to NY was to go see Broadway, and off Broadway shows. Id never been to NY before, and I was really excited. The first night, my friends decided to see The Rocky Horror Show. I thought itd be cool, so I went with them. And Im so glad that I did. Seeing Rocky Horror for the first time, and on Broadway, was absolutely amazing. That had to have been one of the best nights of my life. After seeing Rocky, no other show that I saw that week could live up to the amazing performance that you and the other cast members provided for the audience. I had the time of my life, and I wanted to congratulate you on an amazing job! Ever since then, Ive see RHPS a million times, and am now a true Rocky fan. My friends always tease me because I love it so much. I hope I will be able to see it again soon. So I wanted to thank you again for making my time in NY worthwhile. And keep up the acting and dancing, youre awesome!!
Now, I do have a question: I was wondering if they ever tape Broadway shows so that people can buy it, like they do concerts. I have a feeling they dont because it kind of defeats the purpose of Broadway, but Id thought Id ask anyway. Thanks again - Katie
Sebastian: Hi Katie. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your Rocky experience. The only time a Broadway show is video taped, is when they want to document the show for The Lincoln Center Archives. I think just about every show in Broadway history can be found in those archives. I have never been myself but I have often toyed with the idea of going to see the original productions of Chicago, Dancin' and A Chorus Line. Check it out on your next visit.

Jen Asks: Dear Sebastian, I just saw Rocky Horror, it's the 21st of July. I was so psyched to see you again, it was one of the main reasons I was goin back. I even checked to make sure you were there still. I had to beg my grandma for weeks and she got me tickets for my birthday I turned 14 on July 15. I had front row tickets then I got there opened the playbill and a note said you weren't in it tonight! I was so crushed I started crying. I was wonderin if you could tell me why you weren't in it? and are you out a lot?
A Fan to the End,
Jen
Sebastian: Dearest Jen. I am so sorry that you missed me. I feel awfull. I wish I hadn't been out but my body had other ideas. I pulled a muscle in my back on Thursday and the muscles surrounding the pull decided to go into spasm to protect the adhesion. I had to stay out of the shows this weekend so it could heal. I try to never be out but sometimes unforeseen events win out over one's will, such as a broken toe or a pulled back muscle. It's no fun. It's ironic that I'm known for having a strong body but that stregnth is also a weakness. I did go to the matinee performance on Saturday and participated as an audience member. It was quite fun actually. I got in a couple of great inserts that got wonderful laughs. So again Jen, my appologies. I know what a bummer that must of been. Hopefull, if you make it to another performance, all the planets will be aligned and I will be strong.

A comment from Billy: Hey! I just wanted to drop a line and say that I had the privalege to meet Sebastian after the show and he is indeed one of the nicest guys i have ever gotten the chance to meet. If circumstances where different i would have loved to have gotten to know this guy alot better, and if anyone ever gets the chance to, dont pass it up. The one bad thing about the show is (right off) being introduced to sebastian as rocky, instead of sebastian as himself.

Vito asks: Hello Mr. LaCause!!! I've seen you play the role of Rocky twice and you were fabulous! I have two questions for you. First of all, is that contraption you're on when you are initially introduced scary? I would think one would be a little frightened to go on it after that big accident you had with it. In addition, do you have any "dream roles," or has this role been enough of a dream for you?
Your fan, Vito
Sebastian: Hey Vito. I was a bit apprehensive after the accident but I just had to put that out of my head and have faith in my safety. It wouldn't do me any good to be scared every night. So, now I just think pleasant thoughts every time I get lifted. I don't know if Rocky has been a "dream" role but it has been an incredibly liberatting and educational event in my life as an actor. My dream roles include, Stanely in A Streetcar Named Desire and Hamlet.

Mark asks: Sebastian, I've been reading questions about your appearance in Broadway Bares. What kind of number did you do? Mark
Sebastian: Hey Mark. Well, the production numbers loose a bit in the translations. Basically it was a choreographed piece with a cowboy theme. There were about twenty guys in skimpy space cowboy gear and I was the lead cowboy. You can purchase videos at The Broadway Cares office on 46th street. Watching it is much better than any discription I could give.

Seth asks: Hey Rocky, My name is Seth and I saw you in rocky Horror, about a month ago. I have question about the costume. Do you enjoy wearing something that skimpy? Is it comfortable? What kind of comments do you get about it?
Seth
Sebastian: Hey Seth. The costume is fairly comfortable. Its like wearing tight underwear. I don't know if I "enjoy" wearing it but it doesn't bother me. I do hope I get to wear a little bit more clothing in my next show. Running around in tight underwear is getting a little mundane. Plus it seems to be all a lot of people focus on. They sometimes miss what the man in the underwear is doing. I guess that is to be expected but when you work really hard on something, at times its difficult when people just talk about what you wear.

Laurie-Kate ask: Dear Mr. Sebastian LaCause. I saw your performance in Rocky Horror and really enjoyed your facial expressions, not to mention you're not bad on the eyes. My question is: Do you have to wax your chest for the role? How often? Does it hurt? I was thinking about getting it done, so I'm asking if it hurts alot like I think it will. I know this is kind of an odd question, so I will ask another...did you enjoy your time at NYU? I'm looking at colleges - I will be a senior next year, so I'm looking around.
Sebastian: Hey Laura-Kate. Waxing your chest is AWFULL!!!!! It hurts more than you think it will. I don't wax anymore. Its not worth the pain, to me. I will say that the pain does get a little less each time you do it. NYU was an amazing experience. I wish I had been there longer than I was. I only lasted one semester. I booked my first job and quit school. I had every intention of going back but I just kept working. NYU is great because your campus is the entire city. It offers exceptional programs and is well respected.

Ari asks: hi sebastian! i cant wait till august 2nd (the day after my b day ) to come see Rocky Horror again 4 the 2nd time! when i was on line buying tickets, i saw you and ana gystire but i was soo "afraid 2 say hi" but i wish i did, any way my question is how does ur family and friends react 2 the show? and when ur recongized do u like flip out and think "wow people like me and notice me?" i know i would! ok and of course the most important question ( which if u dont wanna answer i understand) do u have a girl friend?? every girl wants 2 know! hah ok thanks ur really a great preformer!
love always, ari
Sebastian: Hello Ari. I have an incredibly supportive family. They have always given me the encouragement and love I needed to achieve my goals. Most of them have been to see the show and they think its wonderful and are extremely proud of their boy. I do occasionally get recognized. It's kinda trippy. I'm slowly loosing my anonymity and that's both scarey and exciting. I'm trying to hang onto as much privacy as I can.

Dan asks: Id get you to sign some of the pictures I've accumulated over the years. Thanks - Dan
Sebastian: Hi Dan. Thank you. Well, my previous Broadway Bares acts are kinda hard to explain. They are choreographed production numbers with dancers with me as the focal point. I didn't really show any more than I do in Rocky Horror, so don't worry you didn't miss out on anything. I wasn't able to spend any quality time with Julia but she seemed very nice. I love working with all the dancers. Everyone wants to be there, so the energy is always fun and there is an incredible dynamic in the room. Working with Jerry Mitchell makes the event especially wothwhile too. He is so full of life and has such joy for what he does. And, of couse I'd be happy to sign stuff for you.

Riley & Keelie ask: We recently went to see you as "Rocky" in The Rocky Horror Show, on July 2. We were the first girls to run out and get your autograph, however we are extremly upset that we didn't get a picture with you! ;o(
we have a few interesting questions for you... how old are you?
how long have you been dancing for?
what roles did you play in Scream II, Showgirls, Sister Act II, and Boogie Nights?
what is your marital status?
what made you decide to take the role of Rocky?
Sebastian: Hey Riley and Keelie. I entered my third decade of living on January 8th of this year. Wow, 30. It must sound so old to you. I remember being in high school and thinking to myself that I was going to be 29 at the turn of the century. At the time it seemed so far away. Now, it's already in the past. I started dancing when I was six years old. I only had a role in Showgirls. I played Sal, one of the dancers in the Las Vegas show. It was a very, very, very small part. I had 5 lines. In the other movies I was in choreographed dance sequences. I decided to do Rocky because I thought it would be a great opportunity and I would have the chance to work with an exceptional cast and director. And no, I am not married.

John asks: Sebastian - I have not been able to you in Rocky Horror seeing that I live in California. But I do have the CD and you sound great (especially your part of ROSE TINT MY WORLD). I just have FOUR quick questions...
1. I saw a clip of Broadway Bares 2001. I noticed that you have brown hair now. What do you do for the show because you're supposed to be a blond god?
2. Is Jonathan Sharp your understudy? I would assume so since he is the other blond hunk in the show.
3. Who took over for Raul Esparza once he left to do TICK, TICK...BOOM? and finally,
4. What do you plan on doing next? Have you been auditioning? Are you interested in doing a movie or TV show?
I wish you good health and a long career.
John
Sebastian: Hey John. I'm glad you are enjoying the CD. Well, to answer you first question, I went back to dark hair because bleaching my head every three weeks was really reeking havoc to my hair. I also feel that the color of Rocky's hair is irrelevant. A man can be just as sexy and god-like with dark hair. In fact, the Romans gods did have dark hair. Secondly, yes, Jonathan Sharp is my understudy. Thirdly, Mark Price, Raul's understudy, took over the role when Raul left. Finally, to be honest I don't know exactly what I am doing next. But I am actively pursuing more projects.

B. asks: What up Rock. Well, ive seen the show a few times now and you are definately rockin it. I live in NY right now and go to NYU (studyin theatre too, but actually doing the whole Music major) Ive never done any sort of show (only done classes) and I was wondering how you found roles like this to audition for. Good job and good luck.
Ciao B.
p.s. - do they gotta 'stuff' your stuff on stage?? It seems like
that might be an issue with some actors.
Sebastian: Hey B. I was contacted through my agent for this role. I had worked with Jerry Mitchell, the choreographer, a few times prior to this project. He was really gunning for me from the very begining of the auditioning process. Agents are a very necessary piece of the puzzle. They are your links to the castings. Unfortunately getting one can be very arduous. One of the main factors in choosing the right agent is to find one that is excited about representing you. You don't want to be with someone who doesn't "get" you. Remember you are paying them ten percent of your salary. If you are interested in doing theater, start searching out small theater groups or companies. They are a great way to get training and experience.

Shawn asks: Hello Sebastian!
I'm not sure if you remember me. My name is Shawn Lewis and I sent you an email in April after my trip to NYC. I got a chance to see Rocky Horror and I thought the performance was spectacular. I will possibly be in NYC again in about a week and a half. I think the dates are July 12-15. I would really love to see Rocky again or perhaps meet and talk to you. Could you please give me info as to how this can be possible. Thanks.
Your fan,
Shawn
Sebastian: Hey Shawn. Thanks for the e-mail. Well as far as meeting me, if you just want to meet me and say hello you can usually find me leaving the theater after the show. If you had any ideas for anything else, I am sorry but that will most likely not be possible. I do appreciate your kindness. Have a wonderful trip.

Katie asks: since i was about 5 years old i have grown up with Rocky Horror. im only 17 and i have seen it more times
than i can imagine. my uncle lived upstairs from me for like ever and every saturday night he would have his friends come over and my sister and her friends would go up stairs and we would watch it on his huge tv. then my sisters friends would dress up like the cast it was so much fun. since i grew up with rocky horror i guess it made me more open minded when it comes to things other people would find weird. i think the movie was absolutely amazing. but the play was the best thing i have ever seen in my life. i saw it on Saturday june 30th and after the show i was grateful enough to meet you and get an autograph, i was even lucky enough to get a hug hehe :). to tell you the truth i went just to see luke perry but after i first saw you i was like luke is nothing compared to this guy. i think you are the most gorgeous man in the world, and your voice is so beautiful. i thought it was so sweet you actually came out at the end of the show and signed autographs for people who are fans of yours. you are one of the sweetest men alive, Thanks so much you completely made my night amazing. Sebastian you are such a beautiful individual, unlike most celebrities you took the time out to say thanks for coming. and i just wanted to say thank you again. I cant wait to go see Rocky Horror Again. my family is already making plans!!!
Sebastian: Hey Katie. Wow! Thank you! How could I not feel wonderful after reading mail like that. Many people find something poweful in this show. It touches them somehow. Its a bit nostalgic for some. They instantly are transported to a time and place when having fun was safe. For others its simply mindblowing. To some, it relieves the stress of being different. Of course there are always the ones who don't know exactly what they are in for and are slightly shocked or turned off. Wherever your experience leads you is important. That is an amazing aspect about the arts.

Avalon asks: Dear Mr. LaCause, Saw the show on 6/28/01--I've been utterly fascinated by you ever since. Just curious--were you a fan of the RHPS before this revival? This was the first show I've seen in years, and let me tell you, it was worth the wait! Keep up the excellent work!
Bright Blessings, Avalon :)
Sebastian: Hi Avalon. I actually was not a huge Rocky fan prior to winning the role. I saw it maybe twice in a movie theater and had caught bits and pieces over the years on television. I enjoyed it and thought it was fun but never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that I would be playing Rocky in a Broadway revival one day. Trippy, huh?

RockyGuy asks: Sebastian, Hi! I haven't actually seen Rocky yet, but I'm totally psyched because I have front row seats for an upcoming show! I've heard the soundtrack and you sound great. And the length of this section of your website shows that you have alot of fans, and even better you take the time to reply to their questions and comments. Do you get alot of snail-mail from fans as well? How about the rest of the cast, are they as friendly as you? Rocky Horror devotees can be a little intense, have you had to deal with any obsessive are annoying fans yet? I was wondering what the audition process for the show was like. Did you audition specifically for the role of Rocky, or did you just go in and they decided who you would play? Where you surprised when you got the role? Well I won't take up any more space with questions. I'll just say that from what I've heard of the show, and the reviews that I've read, you are an extremely talented young actor and the producers made an excellent choice in casting you as Rocky. You really seem to take the part and make it your own (plus you score points over the movie's Peter Hinwood for actually looking like Rocky AND being able to sing the part!). Great, great, great job in Rocky and I can't wait to go see the show and your performance. Lots of luck and happiness in everything that you do! ~RockyGuy
Sebastian: RockyGuy. This cast is comprised of pretty incredible individuals who are outlandishly talented. They are all quite friendly. I'm not quite sure what snail mail is, therefore I can not answer that. We have a group of really fun people who come to the show often but the toughest part of dealing with someone who is a bit obsessive is when they get a little too comfortable with you. Its difficult because you don't trully know them but they feel they trully know you. But as long as they aren't disrespectful, I guess is something you learn to handle better over time. The audition process was a bit draining because I think, at first, they didn't want Rocky to be ethnic. They were looking for a waspy blond for the part. I went in specifically for that role. I ended up auditioning about four times over a two month period. Needless to say, I was very ecstatic when they offered me the role.

Sabrina asks: Hello, My name is Sabrina and I just came to see the Rocky Horror Show a few weeks ago. I was very impressed with your performance. I am majoring in theatre at a University in North Carolina and we just finished a production of Rocky Horror not too long ago so I was eager to see what Broadway did with the show. I must say that Rocky was my favorite character. There was a line where Rocky asks Janet for lip gloss in the scene between the two right before "Touch Me." I was hoping to hear how you handled it because we didn't know what to do with it in our production. I didn't hear it though, was it cut?
I was also hoping after the show to have a chance to meet you but I never saw you come out. Do you often greet your fans, or do you prefer to just get the hell out of there after a show? I would love to have a picture of or with you at some point. I am here for the summer working until August. Is there a chance you could send one of you to me? I would really appreciate it. Anyway, keep up the good work for the show and break a leg!
Sincerely, Sabrina Frantz
Sebastian: Hey Sabrina. Thanks for the salut to my work. Yes, the "lip gloss" line was cut from our production but only a few months ago. It was always an awkward moment in the scene. I stressed many a rehearsal over how I was going to play that beat. Was the moment about Rocky discovering her bright shiney lips or was it the strange dichotomy of his psychological make up. You could analyze its purpose into many plausible interpretations. In the end Christopher, our director, decided the scene simply flowed better without it. The line is not particularly funny and isn't that neccessary. I'm sorry that you did not get a chance to see me after the show. I always greet whomever is at the door waiting for me. Check the top of this page to see
how to receive an autographed picture. Enjoy your summer in The Big Apple.

Sarah asks: Sebastian~ Hi! I just turned 13 yesterday (June 28, 2001) and for my birthday My Mom and I took 11 of my friends to the "Rocky Horror Picture Show," ( We had front row seats!) Being that I had already seen it when it first opened during winter 2000, I immediately told her to get tickets for your show. OK... I have a few questions for you... I know that you've been doing a lot of dancing and acting but how old were you when you started and who gave you the idea to dance and act? I have been dancing for about 11 years now and I live on Long Island... Since last year I have been attending Steps on
Broadway on 72nd street. My older sister and I just got our head shots completed and are starting to find managers/agents to pursue our acting/dancing careers. Have you ever gotten discouraged when you haven't gotten the part for an audition? For my final statement I would just like to say that I saw you today (6/29/01) coming out of the subway station on 72nd street... (I was going home from dance at around 5:35.) My Mom and I always see you around there but I never get a chance to say Hello! Next time I will!! Keep up the good work! You're effort has been rewarded by making the cast of the Rocky Horror Picture Show! Look out for me... I'm sure you'll see my in your audience again soon!
Love, ~Sarah~
Sebastian: Hey Sarah. I started dancing when I was six years old. A dance teacher began teaching tap lessons at my school every Wednesday after classes. It was my idea to sign up. I was innately drawn to it. Shortly after that I began taking lessons at her studio, The Jean Shephard Dance Studio. I couldn't afford to pay, so she put me on scholarship. From there I went to
study at the school with The Ohio Ballet and then a place called Opus I, again on scolarships. At those schools I began to get intense technique training. Once I graduated from high school, I moved to New York to attend NYU. I also took classes at Steps. I loved it there. I was in complete awe the first time I went. It was so different from the studios in Ohio. Rejection can be very disheartening. I discovered that at about nine years old. In fact, I don't know if you ever get used to it, you learn to just
deal with it. You have to focus on what you want and actively pursue it. You realize that rejection is just like going to the bathroom....its inevitable. The next time you see me at 72nd Street don't hesitate to say hello.

Jenna & Julia ask: Hi. My cousin and went to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show yesterday afternoon and we thought you were an amazing actor as well as having a sexy body! The glitter added to the birth scene in which you recreated Rocky. You played the role perfectly and we loved your expressions. The show was amazing overall and you and the rest of the cast brought laughter to the audience. By the way, thank Jonathan Sharp for his "dance" over our uncle; we still make jokes about it. I know you must get this question a lot but is there anyway we could possibly get two autographed picture of you? We didn't have the opportunity to meet you after the show. We are looking forward to your new website and we hope to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show again!
Thanks again!
Jenna & Julia
Sebastian: Hey Jenna and Julia. Sometimes I find glitter on my dog. I find it everywhere. It is absolutely impossible to get rid of it. I'll probably find it for years to come, even when I'm not in the show anymore. I know it looks good but it is a pain in the you know what. If you send me a self addressed stamped envelope, the address is at the top of this page, I'll get you an autographed pic. Glad you liked the show.

Kim asks: Hi Sebastian,
I just saw RHPS for the first time yesterday and I must say that..ahem.. my jaw dropped when you made your appearance. Of course thanks to Rescue 911, I eventually came to and was able to appreciate the subtlety of your performance. Not the least bit cartoonish even though its tempting in this type of a play and surprisingly truthful. And fun. I wish I could feel as confident in those trunks as you were [or could fill them as much...*bad boy-self spank-bad boy*].
Apologies.
I was hoping I could ask for an autographed picture from you, if its not too much to ask. I was waiting in the lobby after the show to ask for your autograph but Iwas too moist and embarassed. Besides, William Shatner and the EMT squad already left and the prospect of you performing CPR may be too much for my little heart.
Thanks in advance and keep Rocky-ing.
Kim
Sebastian: Hey Kim. You are hilarious. I would be happy to send you a pic. Send me a self addressed stamped envelope, 9x12, to me at the theater. The address is on at the top of this page. Its nice to hear that you noticed the subtleties. They are
an important element in any actors performance. Its a good thing you came to in the lobby. I unfortunately don't know CPR.

Don asks: Sebastian, Congratulations, The show was a huge success, I was so very entertained. You took a role that had been already established, and gave it new life. BRAVO! From the front row (stage left, i think) I had a perspective to see fault,
there was none. Great job again, I am a huge fan. I think the show is pretty good also. Keep up the good work.
Don Garamella
Sebastian: Don. Thank you. Creating a fresh character out of one that has already been established is definitely challenging. I was very nervous when we first started rehearsals. I didn't know from which angle to approach it. It's such an odd role and a silly play. It really took me awhile to find a real place to anchor it in. I am having so much more fun now. I wanted the Rocky to be more than just the eye candy. I wanted to find a whole person in there. Someone people would like.

Sebastian: Thanks Sean. I love doing Broadway Bares. We have such a great time putting that show together. It's nice to put your skills to work for such an important organization. I hope you enjoyed Rocky too.

Crystal asks: Hi! My name is Crystal I'm a 17 year old female from Dallas, Texas and for my graduation present I asked my mother for a trip to NYC and Boston my two favorite places. When I found out she was actually taking me I told her I would LOVE to see Rocky Horror on Broadway, I've been a fan of the movie since I was about 12 and I knew the show would be something incredible to see. I loved what you did with the character of Frank N' Furter's creation Rocky! You made him come alive, and your just incredibly talented. I had so much fun, and it was all because of you and Tom Hewitt, you both work together so well. I wanted to ask you what your part was in SCREAM2?? My favorite movies of all time are the SCREAM Trilogy and I was curious as to what part you played...I'm still in Boston so I haven't gotten to go home and search through the video to find you yet, but I will as soon as I got home on Wednesday. Anyway, I was just amazed with your talent and wanted to let you know that you've got a new fan! :) Crystal
Sebastian: Hi Crystal. When I was living in L.A. I was primarily a dancer. I knew I wanted to act but I wasn't quite sure how to make that transition. I worked on about 9 feature films during that time including, Sister Act II, Lord of Illusions, Eraser, Boogie Nights, Scream II, North, I'll do Anything, Batman & Robin and Showgirls. Showgirls was the only movie I actually had a role in. I played Sal, one of the dancers in the Las Vegas show. It was a very small part and I was very bad in it. I was absolutely petrified. I think I only had about 5 lines. In the other films I was in choroegraphed dance sequences. In Scream II, I was one of the masked dancers in the Greek Chorus of the play that Neve Campbell was performing in college. During the
scene she thinks she sees the killer on stage and freaks out. I am right in front during the number and I do a lift with Neve but you can't tell its me. Look for my name in the credits though, it's there.

Matt asks: Dear Sebastian, I saw The Rocky Horor Show a week ago and I loved it! The cast the music and the stage was great. I'm only twelve but my parents are cool with me seeing the show. When I went on June 8,2001 Joan Jett was not there and I was really upset I was looking forward to seeing her because I love her music. You said that if you wanted anything singed to send it to the theatre but whats the address? I will send you two pictures if you can sing one and ask Joan Jett to sing one I would love it. Your fan, Matt
Sebastian: Hey Matt. Listen, I regret to inform you that Joan Jett is no longer in the show. She finished about a month ago. It was time for her to be Joan Jett The Rockstar again. I believe she is touring this summer. Joan has this incredibl raw energy that is indubitably honest. I will miss her.

Bob asks: Rocky Horror is a great show with a tremendous cast, and you do a fantastic job as Rocky.
I know that sometimes people don't take the time to show their appreciation (other than applause at the end of the show) for what you all do....but I wanted to send you a note to thank you (and the rest of the cast) for many enjoyable shows. I just saw my 12th show tonight....and it was, as always, a fun one.
Take care, and best of luck and continued success with Rocky.
Bob Ryder
Sebastian: Hey Bob. Thanks man, I appreciate the compliment. We do like to have a good time out there. As actors, we live for that applause. It may seem as though its not enough but its nourishment for us. Applause is like a tall glass of perfectly sweetened lemonade on a sticky, steamy summer afternoon.

Corinne asks: Hey Sebastian! I attended a Rocky performance during my spring break from college in April and loved every minute of it! You were fantastic! Quite a pleasant change from the original Rocky from the movie who couldn't really carry a tune.. You are a very talented actor and singer.
It was quite odd; I went with my dad we shouted out callbacks together..and odd bonding experience indeed. But it's all in good fun, right?
I am taking my 12 year old sister to see it in August (got front row..)when my family drives me back to college..we are both very excited about it.
We'll see you there! (hopefully)
..Corinne from Israel
Sebastian: Hello Corinne from Isreal. My character, has really grown a lot from when we first opened. I am still learning, everday, new shades of Rocky. I think its encouraging that you and your Dad bonded during the show. I think that means that the show can be many differnt things to many different people. For you, it was an experience that brought you and your Dad closer. Now that's good theater!

Arianna asks: Hi Sebastian. wow! i its saturday night and i just came back from the 5:00 rocky horror show, and it was great and man the best part was u and ur body! yummy! i just wanted to compliment you on ur show it was really amazing, i was in the front row( i was wearing a white shirt and i am sure u cant remember) and sitting in the front row just makes the show more specutaluar. i know ur days are very busy but do u think maybe you could write me back? and tell me ......... whtas its like 2 get "naked" in front of people? even though u have a great body r u self concious? ok thanks 4 ur time and the wonderful experience.
luv arianna ( a fan)
Sebastian: Arianna. I can't tell you how many times I have been asked this question. I guess I was raised to believe that the human body was beautiful and was nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed of. We were a very liberal family. Conservative was not in our vocabulary. So, when I am asked to wear a revealing costume, as long as it is in good taste and is essential for the role, I don't feel self conscious.

I'm going to see Rocky Horror again but i want to make sure i get to see you again. Well i hope to see you soon, A loving fan, Jen
Sebastian: Hey Jen. You are sweet, thanks. I am not going anywhere soon. My contract with Rocky Horror goes through October. So, you have a few more months if you want to see me in the show again.

Jeff asks: Hi Sebastian-
My boyfriend and I were at the midnight Broadway Bares last night. Your "Space Cowboy" number was absolutley fantastic! The best of the evening. And you looked fantastic as well. It was also good to see so many of your "Rocky" co-stars up there last night too. Gotta say though, we were disappointed we didn't see you out for rotation :)
Anyway, thanks for being part of such a great night! Hope you had as much fun performing as we did watching.
Cheers,
- Jeff
Sebastian: Thanks Jeff. Broadway Bares is the funnest benefit of the year. It raises a hell of a lot of money and we have an absolute blast doing it. The show just gets better and better. It always amazes me that it all comes together in the end. The midnight shows are always a bit bewitching. Everyone is just so much more relaxed by then. Sorry about rotation but I think my rotation days are over...but you never know.

Anyway..I would just like to say that you do a great job and I cannot wait to see you when I am in NYC this summer!
I wrote to the cast last fall and you did not sign the Playbill? May I ask why?
My Best!
Patrick Allen
Sebastian: Patrick. My applogies for missing the signing of your playbill. It somehow didn't make it across my hands on its mission to the theater. If you would still like my signature send me the playbill with a self addressed envelope and I'll do my best to get it back to you as soon as posssible. Thanks.

Sebastian: Hey Don, Thanks man. My new website will contain a page devoted entirely to my fitness routine. Including training tips and healthy eating habits. It is all in the works now so stay tuned. I hope to have the new site up and running by next month.

AJ asks: How you doin Sebastian? Seeing that I don't fawn over people, I have some theatre questions for ya. What is the difference between an understudy and a standby? What are the requirements to get an equity card? What is a swing? What is the range of pay for an ensemble, one who has a role, and a well known star? Is there a book where I can read about the business? Okay, I will fawn.... Oh Sebastian, you are the best. Thanks, you are a cool guy and I appreciate the time you take to talk to me here and there.
-- Later. AJ
Sebastian: Hi AJ, The duties of both an understudy and a standby are quintessentially the same, to cover a specific role in which they are to perform if the actor playing such role can not perform due to illness, vacation or other specified time off. The difference being that an understudy usually has another part in the show such as a chorus member or swing. A standbys only job, I believe, is covering a specific role. They do not even have to be at the theater every night. They usually carry a beeper for said emergencies. A swing is someone who typically covers the ensemble parts. They must show up every night to the theater even if they are not performing. Salaries are based on the Equity minimum for specific roles, such as, swings, ensemble and principle. They are all negotiable. They can range from $1200 a week for an ensemble member to $30-50,000 a week for a well know star if not more. I am not aware of any books that give this imformation but I'm sure they exist.

Chris asks: Dear Sebestian, My name is Chris and I saw Rocky Horror last Saturday and it was my first time ever seein anything having to due with the "Rocky Horror Craze" and I have to say that I've defintely been sucked into the craze myself. I think the show and your performance was amazing. So amazing that I rushed to buy the soundtrack and can't stop listenin to it. I was truely honored to see such and amazing group of people perform....I still cant stop talking about it. One main reason would have to be the fact that I'm majoring in Musical Theatre at Wagner College where we are encouraged to see whats out there and from seein RH, it just gives me more inspiration to put my all into my performances at school and in the future. I thank you and the cast!!!
Your new #1 fan
Chris Semidey
ps. If its possible can u please send me an autographed picture, I would
deeply appreciate it...you are amazing!
Sebastian: Hello Chris. I saw my first Broadway show when I was 13. I was visiting my uncles in NYC and my Uncle Laurance took me to see 42nd Street. I was utterly blown away. I had never felt so alive and so inspired. It was a truly magical and life altering experience. I knew at that moment that I would one day perform on a Broadway stage. Good luck with your studies at Wagner. And Chris, to get an autographed picture please send an 9x12, self-addressed, stamped (with correct postage) envelope to me at the Circle In The Square Theatre.

Alex asks: Hello SEBASTIAN,
I just saw the show and I LOVED it!!!! I am 23 years old and I took my two roomies..WE loved your character...we actually have your photo on the TONY cover on our fridge!!
Anyway, besides that I was wondering if I could have an autograph since my friends wouldn't wait with me til you came out...another question- are you performing in Broadway BARES??
also, I was wondering where you usually hang out in your free time!! (just curious :-) )
thanks
alex
Sebastian: Hey Alex. That is so cool that I am on your fridge! It is also a tripp. You spend most of your life diligently working towards your dreams. You are constantly getting knocked down and you have to learn to pick yourself up, brush off the dirt and keep on going. Slowly you get your foot in the door and begin to make some progress. However, you are forever strategizing and setting more goals for yourself and the little amount of success you have gets pushed further and further from your brain. Then you get an e-mail from someone who says they have a picture of you on their fridge and it makes you slow down for a second and go WOW....I'm on someone's fridge...cool!! So thank you Alex for making me pause for a moment.

Celia asks: Dear Rocky,
I dont know where to begin exactly. I've seen The Rocky Horror Show 5 times so far, one time including my sweet 16 ( which u might remember) and also the midnight show (which was beyond incredible). I also plan on coming back instead of going to prom. You look just as awesome a brunette and the cast has really done so much in the show since I've seen it between November and April. I was also at the Virgin Megastore where I got an autograph for RICHARD O'BRIEN! Did the cast get to work with him at all when you guys first started? Also I've been hearing a lot of rumors about new cast members such as Ana Gastayer, Luke Perry and Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Are all these rumors true? Don't worry I'll be back again. Oh and say hi to Jonathon Sharp for me. He should know me since I've been working with him in school. Tell him he's an awesome choreographer. Well hopefully I'll see you soon.
~ Celia DeVoe
Sebastian: Celia, Richard O'Brien did not have much to do with our current production. We met him right before we opened. He came and gave us tremendous love and support. As you probably already know, since I have been in an e-mail coma lately, we now have the incredibly talented Ana Gasteyer from SNL in our Rocky family. She comes from a hardcore comedy background and is quite hilarious in the show. But no one will ever replace Joan. She is with us always. Luke Perry will be playing Brad for 5 weeks begining June 26th. Jarrod is taking some time off but will return. We will miss him. Glad to
hear that you enjoy the CD. Take care.

Jessica asks: Hi! My name is Jessica Denes, I'm 19 years old, and an aspiring professional actress. I have seen Rocky now 3 times!! It is the best show I've ever seen on Broadway. Every time I see it, it reminds me of why I am struggling to become an actress! Do you have any advice for me?? I currently have been accepted to the musical theater program at American Musical & Dramatic Academy (AMDA), and on Fri, June 8th will be auditioning for Circle in the Square's musical theater program. I'm unsure if I should go the acting school route or just try to get out there and brake my butt?? Since, my acting coach & vocal coaches all seem to give me different advice?? I have transferred out of University of Connecticut (I would be a Junior in the fall) but, I really feel that I'm at my prime to get out there and work it!! Hey, are they gonna have recasting auditions for the phantoms any time soon?? I know practically all the choreography and music!! Well, anyway I just wanted to say You and your cast totally rock and are an inspiration (I never seen one cast with so much talent & hotness!!). I was hoping you could send me an autographed headshot?? Thanks, so much and I can't wait to see it again!! Jessica Denes
Sebastian: Jessica. I strongly believe in building a strong foundation for yourself as an an actor. I think it was very smart of you to transfer to a school in NYC. That is a step in the right direction. Unfortunately I dont know much about the schools you are interested in. I can reccommend the two year professional program at The Atlantic Theater Company. I did not study there
but I did enroll myself. Fortunately or unfortunately, however you choose to see it, I was cast in Rocky Horror before school started so I could not attend. I did find in my research that The Atlantic Theater Co. has something special. They also have a theater company that I was setting my sites on. I would advise you to look into a school that has its own theater company. Then you have a place to put your new skills to work. If it is a highly respected theater company, all the better. The founders of Atlantic are the playwright David Mamet and the incredible actor William H. Macey. Check it out. Once you are in the city and you feel like you should be auditioning, go for it. Practice makes perfect.

Pete asks: Sebastian...Mr. LaCause (don't know exactly how I should address you...lol),
I just got back from a quick visit to NY where I was fortunate enough to see The Rocky Horror Show Live. I live in Florida and try to get up that way from time to time and see the sights. I always make time to catch a show. One of my favorite past times is going to the theater and being entertained by incredible entertainers like yourself and your fellow cast. The funny thing is, the last three times I've been to see a show on Broadway, you've been in it (or at least according to the Playbill you have). I say How To Succeed..., Once Upon A Mattress, and now Rocky Horror. It's weird, but it's like I've been following your career unknowingly. I wish I would have been able to met you in person to have gotten an autograph (it will be very valuable someday) and to give you all the recognition you deserve for doing what you do night after night for people like myself. Congratulations on your growing achievements. I look forward to my next visit to see what you are up to.
-- Pete M.
Sebastian: Pete M. Thank you. Well two of the shows I was in. I was not in How To Succeed... but Once Upon A Mattress was my Broadway debut. I having much more fun in Rocky Horror though. You can send a 9x12 self address envelope to the theater if you are still interested in getting an autographed photo.
Thanks again.

Kim asks: Hey my name is Kim. I just came back form the rocky horror show...you were sooo----> good! The show was amazing. I have been a rocky fan for a while now, and i have never seen anything like this! I have seen it twice already and am planning for more! Did you always like the movie or fall into the part?
-Kim
ps- have you been in any other boradway shows?
Sebastian: Kim. I was never a huge fan of the movie. Don't get me wrong. I saw it when I was in high school and I enjoyed and thought it was fun but it wasn't a life altering experience for me. I was more a fan of the MGM movie musicals from the 1950's. Those were life altering for me. They made me realize my acting aspirations. I have been in the ensemble of three other Broadway shows. They were Once Upon A Mattress, Chicago and Minnelli on Minnelli. I was also in the First National Tours of Kiss of The Spiderwomen and Chita and All That Jazz.

To Tim: Tim. I do get recognized from time to time but its nothing overwhelming. People just say hello or tell me how much they enjoyed the show. Although when I notice people just looking at me I'm never quite sure why. I think to myself, "Is my fly open?" or "Do I look funny today or what?" Its a little weird I guess. Rocky's role in the movie is considerable smaller because they cut his lines, Peter Hinwood, who played Rocky, was neither an actor nor a singer. I feel this role has given me the opportunity to flex my comedic muscle and has opened a portal to my inner rock n roll singer. I dont feel the show has shown all my talents. I dont know if one show can do that for any actor. Most of us are not just one thing. I'm not simply a
comedic beefcake rock n roll singer. I have a lot more to bring to the table. Hopefully my next project will allow me to flex a different muscle. To get an autograpgh pic, send a 9x12 self addressed stamped envelope to me at the theater. The address is in several answers on the Q & A page (Scroll down to find it)

Donna asks: Sebastian, Hi, my name is Donna. I'm a teen from Long Island, and just yesterday a group of seven friends and I went to see the Rocky Horror Show in place of going to our junior prom. I have to say that it was extremely worth it, and I cannot wait to see it again. I've been a Rocky Horror fan for three years now and I've always thought the movie was great, but it pales in comparison to the play. I just want to thank you and the cast for such a cool, exciting experience. I don't think I stoped smiling throughout the entire play :). I also wanted to ask you a question. This is going to sound slightly strange, but there's nothing wrong with asking. First let me say that I'm an aspiring artist and I love doing facial portraits of famous actors/actresses/etc. I would be so thrilled if I could do your portrait, and I would of course send it to you (via mail). But would it be possible for you to send me a head shot over email as a reference for me? If it's any trouble, I totally understand.
Thanks for your time! And once again the show was awesome and spectacular! -Donna
Sebastian: Hey Donna, How cool is that! I'm thrilled that we offered an entertaining option to your prom. I wish I could have done something like that when I was in high school. It sounds like a total blast. I would love for you to do a portrait. I just have to figure out which photo to send you. I have been a little crazed lately but i will e-mail you with a photo soon. Thanks.

Sheira asks: Hi Sebastian! I'm 14 and the first time I saw RHPS live was this past December (in 2000) with my friend, Ariela. We were sitting in the very front which resulted in a lot of confetti landing on us during the wedding from people above us. We had a BLAST!!!!!!!!! It was really exciting to see what we had been watching on video for a long time with live people! You were really great!! When you first come out on stage being "born" wearing that really tiny outfit thing, what is it like since you're not really wearing much? Do you just get into the spirit of the whole thing and not notice much? After the show we waited outside to see if anyone from the show would be there signing autographs and you came out! I had this huge foam-core type thing with pictures of all you cast members' on it and asked if you could sign it. Do you remember that? I was really surprised at how much of the cast was outside! You all were so nice about signing stuff for all of us. Anyway, my aunt got tickets for me and my cousin on may 6th which is just around the corner from now!!! I have another question actually. If you weren't acting, what else would you be doing now? Has it always just been your dream to act or were there other things you were really interested in? You have a really great talent and you are a great actor!
Anticipating going to see RHPS again,
-- Sheira
ps- what is it like to be in a show where the band is behind you rather than in a pit in front of the stage? I thought the way they did that netting thing in front of the band was really awesome!
Sebastian: Sheira, Although it has always been my dream to act, I would most likely still be involved in the entertainment industry somehow. Whether it was producing, directing or choreographing, I would have my hands in the artistic "cookie jar". Having the band behind the actors is not really a new experience for me. When I was in the Broadway company of "Chicago", the band played on stage behind the actors as well. It sounds great because you feel as though you are wrapped in the sound. I do remember signing that stuff for you. You were so sweet.

Ronnie asks: Dear Sebastian, thanks so very much for the autographed picture you sent me.....it"s very hot! It was so nice of you to send it. I saw the show in February & plan to see it again soon. I hope you"ll still be in it. I heard you went back to being a brunette......either way you"re a very talented & handsome performer. What are your plans after Rocky Horror? How about Fosse? I think you"d be great in that show! Well, thanks again & continued success.......Ronnie Belanger
Sebastian: Ronnie, Glad you liked the photo. I don't, as of yet, have anything lined up after my contract ends. Although Fosse is an amazing show, I would prefer to do a project that was new. A project that also involved more acting and less dancing. I don't want to give up dancing but right now I want to concentrate on becoming a great actor.

Robert asks: My partner, our 16 year old daughter and I saw the show over Spring Break. All three of us agreed that yours was the best of a great selection of shows that attended (Kiss Me Kate, Naked Boys Singing, and The Allergist's Wife - yes quite a spectrum). We were in the front row and I had the dubious honour of having Janet's pink bra land on my shoulder when the strap broke and she threw it into the air during the "I Want To Be Dirty" scene. I thought my partner was going to wet his pants he was laughing so hard.
You and your castmates have done a great job on the show maintaining high energy, strong voices and obviously having lots of fun. I saw the show in London a few years ago and the movie is a staple in our house and yet your production has been the most fun to date. Thanks for helping make our visit to New York a great success and all the best with your next projects!
Robert
Vancouver, BC
Canada
Sebastian: Thanks Robert, I do feel we have an incredible production here also. All the elements came together to create something quite unique and silly and extraordinary and fun. I am so proud that we have been nominated for four Tony Awards. The unfortunate thing is that because we are not mainstream and are more off the wall, we will probably be passed over for any awards. The extremely commercial 42nd Street will most likely beat us out for Best Revival, Susan Stroman will undubiously snag the Best Direction award for The Producers. Although Tom Hewitt gives the most unique, varied and astounding performance, the Tony is more likely to land in the hands of one of the Producers' stars. Those are my predictions. How funny that Janet's bra landed on you partner. That was quite a fun performance for us. We love when things go awry.

I was sitting very close and you and Frank actually stood next to me. (Nice belly ring) I hope to attend the show again soon. Congratulations on the great work. -- Marci
Sebastian: Marci, Glad you liked my belly ring. It hurt like hell when I had it done over five years ago but I'm so happy I endured that pain. I love it too.

Alan asks: You play the title role in the show. Why is your name not written on the posters and print ads? How long are you going to be in the show and are you planning to release a CD? How does it feel to be you?
Sebastian: Alan, My name was exclude from the posters simply because this was my first major role in a show and I didn't have much pull in the negotiations when it came to paid advertising. In this business it doesn't always matter what part you are playing and what you can bring to the table. The more important issue is who you are and how many tickets your name will sell. Everyone on that "first tier" of billing had either Tony awards or Tony nominatons or were big names or stars in their own right. We all have to start somewhere. My journey has always been one of challenge and obsatcle so it is quite fitting that even in my first co-starring role I start out at the bottom and work my way up. It has never been easy and I don't think it will ever become easy That is just the name of the game. But, if you notice, my name does now appear in all the paid advertisements except for the posters that were already printed. In this round of negotiations I had a little more pull. I would love to record a Cd actually. It is also quite a difficult task. This show has released the singer in me. How does it feel to be me? Probably like it feels to be you. Sometimes fun othetimes it's difficult. I put my pants on one leg at a time like everyone else. I get frustrated and depressed and have bad hair days...a lot. And sometimes wonder what I'm doing in this crazy business. Sometimes I feel like I'm never going to be good enough. Then I have to step back and get a new perspective on life. Learning to not take myself too seriously is my biggest lesson to learn.

Laura asks: I saw the show on Wednesday (4/18). I'm only 15 but i really loved it. You looked really familiar to me but i can't think of where else I've seen you. What did you do on As The World Turns? It's been bothering me for a couple days because i keep trying to think of where I've seen you before! I'm sure you don't remember me but i was sitting on your right and when it was over and Lea Delaria was talking about donating money for AIDS, I swear you were looking at me; but it could have just been my imagination! Anyway, you and the entire cast did a great job! ~Laura
Sebastian: Laura, I don't know where you could have seen me before. I have been on TV a lot but always as a back up dancer for some artist. I've performed with Prince on the very first VH-1 Fashion Awards, with Madonna on The 1995 Britt Awards, with Toni Braxton on The Soul Train Awardsto, to name a few. Perhaps it was on The Academy Awards. I performed in two different broadcasts. The first was with Liza several years back and another year was with Vanessa Williams while she sang "Colors of the Wind". Or maybe , if you're a "Showgirls" fan, you may have recognized me from that. On "As the World Turns", I played a bartender. A very small part with only two scenes. You may remember from other Broadway shows you've seen. Maybe you never seen anything I've done and I simply remind you of someone you know. Ther are
endless possibilities. Maybe we passed each other on the street or rode in the same subway car. Who's to know for sure.

Alexadria asks: Dear Sebastian, I was in New York this past week and I saw "The Rocky Horror Show" for the first time and it was so great! I would also like to say how incredibly spectacular you were in the show! You have the greatest voice and a totally
hot body!! The entire cast was amazing as well, and everyone has inspired me in a different way.
I actually have two questions, I wanted to ask about the new broadway cast album. Who is actually on the cd? And will you be on the cd? (I hope so!!!) Also, would it be possible to have you and the phantoms to sign a playbill or a photo? That would be soo great!!
Thanks for your time. Good luck in the show!!! - Alexandria
ps. I saw 4 shows when I was in New York, and the Rocky show was the best!!!!! I saw it twice!!
Sebastian: Alexandria, You rock! So glad to hear you liked Rocky Horror the best. We love that! The cast album will be available next week. May 16th, I believe, is the release date. The entire original cast, with the exception of Joan Jett, is on the recording. Joan's understudy, Kristen Lee Kelly, sings Columbia. The only explanation I know is that Joan and the producers could not reach agreed condtions. But I'm on it! Whoo-Hoo!! If you want the something autographed, send it to me at the theater with a self addressed stamped envelope. Take care.

Michael asks: Dear Mr. LaCause- Hi! My name is Michael Santoro and I am an 18 year-old high school senior from Orlando, Florida. About three or four months ago, I saw your incredibly wonderful and confident performance of "Rocky Horror" in RHS on Broadway. That was the first time I had ever seen a show (since I live in FL) but I was so impressed by the talent on that stage. Tom Hewitt, Daphne Rubin-Vega, you, EVERYONE (!) was phenomenal. (And there were no understudies, so that was a good first impression.) But, it just so happens that my community theatre is putting on a production of The Rocky Horror Show, and strangely enough, I was cast as Rocky. I was wondering if you had any tips to help me find the character. Also, I'm very nervous about the "Floor Show" sequence. It's kinda hard to sing and dance in high heels and a garter belt. How do you handle it? Thanks! I most appreciate it. Take care and break a leg on future performances!
Best wishes,
Michael
Sebastian: Michael, Congratulations bud! Welcome to the wacked out world of Rocky Horror. The best advice I can give you about playing Rocky is to tap into your own discovery, wonderment, naive and sexual sensibilities and take it from there. Make him your own. When a character comes from parts of you, it will be the most truthfull. When we try do what someone else does it can then become forced and unnatural and untruthfull. So, find "your" Rocky and you can't go wrong. Oh, don't worry about the high heels. Practice makes perfect.

Tyler asks: Your performance was GREAT! You looked really great in your costumes! You have a lot of guts to get up in front of a lot of people and wear what you wore. I'm now just starting to try to wear sleeve less shirts. I have four questions for you.
1)How long did it take you where you are today?
2)How old are you?
3)Do you like wearing those clothes?
4) Where did you go to college?
I'm 16 and I go to a performing arts high school for dance and i was just wondering if it is easy being in New York on broadway. GREAT show again and you look great in those costumes. Keep up the great work.
Tyler(a big fan)
Sebastian: Taylor, It has taken me most of my 30 years to get where I am today. I started my romance with the arts when I was six. So, that is about twenty-four years. From that point in my life I was working towards my dream of performing. I did not realize it then. I just knew I was having fun and I somehow connected to the art. Professionally, I have been working since I was eighteen, if you count my summer job at good 'ol Geauga Lake. I then studied a semester at NYU and was then hired for my first professional job at nineteen and I haven't looked back yet.

Love, Tommi-Grace
Sebastian: Thanks Tommi-Grace, Letters like yours, will help keep my inspired as well. Connecting with the human spirit is what feeds the soul of an artist. I wish you much success on your evdeavors as an actress. Know first in your heart then follow your dream.

Sebastian: Stephanie, Thanks for the picture! It's great! I am living my dream too. It is not always easy but I would not won't to do anything else. When I was younger I used to draw. At one time I contemplated over whether or not I should go into commercial art or architechture. That thought did not last too long.

JasonB
Sebastian: JasonB, You are trully welcome. It is always good to hear from the hard core Rocky fans. Kudoos to you for dressing up on Easter! I am currently looking for new projects. I will definately keep everyone apprised of any new
ventures. I would love to do a play or work on some films next.

Andrea asks: Sebastian, Have you thought about perhaps doing a "Backstage at Rocky Horror" section on your site? Or maybe a gallery? I'd love to see some more photos of you.
Also - how do you feel about being viewed as a sex object?
Andrea
Sebastian: JasonBAndrea, A new site is in the works complete with a Backstage page and a gallery. Plus eveything I have now with a page dedicated to fitness. So keep a look out. It will probably be ready in a month or so. Being viewed as a "sex object" is definately flattering. Especially to the boy who only had one girlfriend his senior year in high school. They were just not interested in me. I was the brown kid in a white school with glasses and bad teeth. I guess I don't blame them. I tried but nothing ever panned out for me. They all just wanted to be "friends". So in that sense it is kinda of like a sweet revenge. But on the other hand I still see that kid from high school so I don't feel totally comfortable when people comment on my looks. Deep inside I have difficulty believing them. You know, stupid insecurity and bad self esteem issues. I'm a freak, what can I say?

Leigh asks: Dear Sebastian, Last night, I saw the "Rocky Horror Picture Show," for the first time. I went with the cast of the drama show from my school. Let me tell you, I practically spazed out when you made your first beautiful appearance on stage. I turn to the left and told my buddy that you were a total hottie, and then did the same to my pal of the right. You were not only pleasant to watch for the obvious reasons, but you're acting and vocal performance was phenomenal. I've been singing for as
long as I can remember, and I pray to God that I will be as sucessful as you have been in a business that only has a few winners. Any suggestions on how I achieve either getting a record deal or getting on broadway? Did you have many connections in the
bussiness? Because I know that can certainly help. So, are you single? I know you're probably much too old for me, but I had to ask. You seem like a very spiritually intune person, one who has discovered an inner peace, perhaps? That's just the vibe that I got while reading some of your responses to your other fans. Is it weird? Having fans? LoL. Anyway, I won't take up any more of your time, but let me just praise you one more time. You are absolutely gorgeous, with your white-blond hair, and your
brunette. I'm sure you would be just as beautiful with purple hair as well. You body is unbelievable, and it is kind of inspiring to tone myself up too. You did an amazing acting job, and I hope that I can follow your career closly, now that I concider myself an official fan. Hey, who knows, if I make it, we may work together some day. I know someone already asked, but if you had a screen name, it'd be damn hot to know what it is. Totally up to you though...obviously.
Much Love, Peace and Luck, Leigh
Sebastian: Leigh, The best way to achieve your goals is to be focused and specific about what you want. Then never sway from that path. Don't ever think you know all the answers. Ask questions. Yes, networking can be a very usefull tool. People love to give advice and opinions. Become the best actor, singer, dancer that you are capable of becoming then, try harder. Go one step beyond believing you can do it to knowing that this is want you want. I mean, REALLY know. And finally, don't be discouraged. There are a lot of obstacles along the way. But when you conquer those obstacles, the fruit is so much sweeter.
Inner peace is something I think I'll always be searching for. I think age brings a certain awareness and confort that I didn't have a few years back. I've always had a strong spiritual conscious. I am not a religious person but a very spiritual one. I believe my personal life, as well as my screen name, should be my own. I don't think I'll ever try purple hair but you never know, thanks.

Rich asks: Hi Sebastian, I've never seen you perform live (due to living in Amsterdam and London rather than New York!) but I've seen you on several er *pre-released* videos of Chicago and I have to say you are an amazing dancer and from
the little acting Harry gets in Chicago, that too. I wanted to ask if you have any plans to work in the UK or Europe? We're starting to see a lot of female US performers (eg: Lucie Arnaz, Valarie Pettiford, Chita Rivera) coming over as leads. It'd be
interesting to see some MEN from the US coming to our shows...and we're all hoping secretly that "The West End Bares" will happen... Rich
Sebastian: Rich, I think Broadway leading men are definitely on an upswing. We are due to get our day in the spotlight real soon. I would definately entertain the idea of performing on The West End. I love Europe and I think it would be an incredible opportunity. Now I just have to wait for the right project.

Drew asks: Hello there. I saw Rocky Horror on March 13 while I was on my spring break, and let me say WOW!!!! Rocky was one of the main reasons I went out to New York for my break. I was completely blown away by everyone in the cast. You were the perfect Rocky. I am looking foward to the cast album!!! I am an aspiring actor/dancer and know how much energy it takes to do a show. You and the rest of the cast never looked tired. I think it is so great that you send your fans autographed photos. I was wondering do any of the other actors in the show do the same? Thanks and congrats on a great performance!!!!!!!!!!!
Sebastian: Drew, Thanks man! Sometimes doing the show can be tireing but when all the cards are lined up and everything is in the pocket and all the jokes are hitting it can be quite exhilerating as well. Peforming eight shows a week is a demanding schedule. You never seem to have an adequete social life. Fortunately, the show can be fun and the cast is a pretty incredible group of individuals. In fact, I'm sure if you wrote to them at the theater, they would send you a picture. Thanks for writing.

Sebastian: Hey H, I know, I know...we're working on it. A newer updated website is in the works. I assure you there will be some sort of gallery. I rececently did a shoot with Joe Oppedisano. He is the great photographer who shot my 'Time Out' cover. I plan on using some of those photos on the new site. They are great! So, hang tight and I'll get the site running as soon as I can. Thanks.

I CAN'T REMEMBER WHEN I LAUGHED SO HARD. AND PLEASE THANK JONATHAN SHARP FOR DOING THAT HILARIOUS DANCE JOB ON MY HEAD (I GUESS HE WAS MAD I WOULDN'T GET UP AND DANCE WITH HIM). MY FRIENDS LAUGHED SO HARD AT THAT THEY HAD TEARS IN THEIR EYES!
PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOUR GOING TO CONTINUE DOING ROCKY HORROR. WE'D LOVE TO SEE YOU AGAIN.
THANKS FOR A GREAT NIGHT OUT!
Sebastian: Jeff, Well I just signed on for another six months at Rocky Horror so I'll be around through the summer. Saturday nights are ususally a fun night. It's late and people can get raucous, including the cast. I do think Johnathon Sharp does enyoy doing that dance. It's wonderful to hear we brought tears to your eyes and to those of your friends. The audience reaction is such a vital life line to the actor. It's nice to know you've contributed to someone's life experience.

Shawn asks: Let me start off by saying how incredibly exciting it was to catch your performance in Rocky Horrow last Friday. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. I commend you as well as the other actors on a job well done.
I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time after the show to associate with fans. It was one thing being on the front row, inches from the stage with you in my face as Rocky, but it meant more for you to be inches away as Sebastian. Also, thanks for taking a picture with me. That was cool. I should have the film developed and I'd like to send you a copy. You're such a beautiful person, and I admire your hard work. I have two questions for you. First, I would like to know if you have a fan club. Second, I am extremely impressed with how toned and beautiful your body is. It has inspired and motivated me to get in gear with a steady workout plan. Can you recommend any workout techniques or exercises?
Sebastian: Shawn, If no one appreciates or likes your work, what is the purpose of art? Self expresson? Absolutely. Self exploration? Sure. But what makes being an artist so incredible to me is the possibilty of touching someone's spirit. The reaction, or how someone can be affected by how you, the artist, is expressing themself, be it, acting, singing, dancing....painting, sculpting, writing...is what moves me as an artist. I do not,as of late, have a fan club. But thanks for asking. The best work out advice I can give to you is to try and incorporate a healthy diet in combination with an exercise program. I am not saying that it is easy. I struggle with it every day. It is best to buy and prepare your own food. I know it sounds daunting and arduous but once you get into the habbit, it does get a little easier. That is why I allow myself one day to eat whatever I crave. Not that that means overeating but simply, if I crave the pizza or burger that day, I eat it...the ice cream too. Also work out with intensity. Just going to the gym and half heartedly moving weights around will do you very little good. You must be focused and concentrated. Take it seriously. I have the advantage of having a dance background which left me with a strong sense of discipline when it comes to a physical work out or training routine. If being physical is not part of your conscience collective...look for it...it is there. Start slowly and don't expect changes over night. Rome wasn't built in a day either.

Kate asks: Hey there! Well, you didn't meet me, and sadly, I didn't get to see you in Rocky. But I WAS part of the special private rendition of "The Sword of Damocles" that you did for the CFHS Tour Bus! Yep, I'm a fellow Fallsite.... We hear about you all the time in A Capella, so it was a thrill and a pleasure to finally meet the Famous Sebastian LaCause and to hear you sing. You were excellent, so I can only imagine how incredible Rocky must be, as much as I liked Aida! What I want to know is, how hard was it for you to get to Broadway? Have you always been this good, back when you were an M here? Or did it take a lot of training? Are you a "natural"? In other words, is there hope for me?! :) I didn't make M's this year, and I'm very close to giving up. I don't necessarily have Broadway aspirations, but you inspired me to work harder to get what I want here on Ohio. Please write back, and thanks again for our private concert! :)
Sebastian: Kate, I do believe people are born with a "gift". Most of us require nuturing to help us discover and stengthen these gifts. I have had a lot of traing over the years in voice, acting and dance. Being skilled at all three has definately helped along my journey. Back in high school at Cuyahoga Falls, I was only begining to understand what I was capable of. The one
thing I knew for sure was that I wanted to perform. If one decides to pursue a career in the arts, handeling rejection is a skill to master early on in your life. Do not be discouraged if you were not selected for the "M&M's" showchoir. There will be many more auditions...many, many, more. And you do get some of them. A lot you don't. I am a firm believer that you should
live your dreams. I would rather spend my life doing something I believed in than wondering what would have happened if I had only....

Geoffrey asks:I'm a new Rocky Horror fan, as I just got a DVD copy of it from a friend who just "knew I would love it." Anyway, we were talking and I asked him if Rocky Horror was going to be done on broadway any time in the near future. I
was ecstatic to discover that it was and even more pleased that they found such a gorgeous cast (you, my dear man, are the crown jewel!) I am a college student (studying Animation at the Art Institute) way out in Portland, OR so
it look like I may miss your performance =(
I actually have a couple of questions. First, is there going to be a Rocky tour? And second, would it be possible to get you and the other Primaries (especially Daphne and whoever the hunk is that plays Brad. Grrrrrr.) to sign a Playbill for me. I'll send postage and all of that. It would be an honor.
Thanks for you time. Best wishes and continued success in Rocky.
-Geoffrey
PS Where are you in Scream 2 and Sister Act 2. Those are two of my fave movies!
Sebastian: Geoffery, I guess Portland is a little far to make a day trip. The show is going well and I believe they are planning on sending out a tour in the fall. With any luck it will be hitting a city near you or perhaps even Portland. Then you can experience the phenomenon first hand. Unfortunately you will not see the current cast but I'm sure the new crew will be quite spectacular. Getting a signed playbill is as easy as sending a self addressed stampedenvelope to me in care of Circle in the Square Theater. I'll do my best to get it back to you in a timely manner. Oh, by the way, yes I was in Scream 2 and Sister Act 2. I was a hooded dancer in the greek chorus with Neve in Scream 2 and with Whoopi in the opening dance sequence of Sister Act 2. The only exciting thing about those jobs is seeing my name in the closing credits and getting the residual checks. Other than that they are purely "stage dressing" peices. Good clips to show on Letterman oneday. :)

DJ asks:First I have to say that I am truly impressed with your performance and the performance of the cast in the Rocky Horror Show. The show has been my favorite show that I have seen. Masterful. I saw the show at the matinee on Sunday, March 18th. I was with a group of 4 kids, who were always dancing, and having a fully enjoying it. Maybe you would remember us? Our seats were in the small section right in front of stage left. There were 3 guys and a girl. Hopefully you will remember us. Anyways, I was hoping that you would pass on the good words to your cast members and ask them to possibly write us, along with yourself. If you could, please tell anyone to e-mail me at oldschool37@hotmail.com. Thank you for your time. Masterful Job. Break a leg.
Sebastian: DJ, It is a fun show isn't it? We have such a great time onstage. Sometimes its trully mindboggling that we get to have so much fun and get paid. I must admit we get quite a lot of people coming in and out of the theater so to honestly say I remember exactly who you are would be inappropriate. But none the less, the importance lies in your experience at the show. We are a fortunate cast. Blessed with great memmories and new friendships.

MN asks:Hi Sebastian, I saw Rocky Horror Live recently and I loved it. I was so incredibly impressed by the performers! I thought it was really interesting that you went to NYU because my brother goes there and I'm hoping to in the future. What Studio were you in? After seeing the show I was wondering, was it really awkward to have the other actors touching you all the time and you touching them? I was curious as to how the first rehearsal for Touch-a touch-a touch me went. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I think you're great and I love your show.~~~MN
Sebastian: MN, I was actually a dance major at NYU. I, unfortunately did not study at any of the acting studios. I most likely would have explored The Atlantic Theater Company or Stella Adler's studio. I took a Shakespeare monologue workshop this past summer at Adler and was enrolled in the two year professional program at The Atlantic Theater Company's school this past fall before I was cast as Rocky.
When you are working on a scene that requires a lot of body contact with another actor you should definately be free enough to inhabit that sexuality but it becomes more technical than it does arousing. The director and choreographer set a safe environment and you have the option to tell them if something doesn't feel comfortable. Alice is talented as she is beautiful
and we only had fun creating Touch Me.

Christopher asks:As the result of winning a contest, I got to make ROCKY the first honest-to-God Broadway musical I have ever seen. Having been a longtime fan of the movie (and honorary Transylvanian), it was an absolute dream come true.
I was a starstruck fan last night (3/28), even though I was only familiar with Joan, Dick and Daphne.
So when you appeared on the gurney/rigging in the middle of Act I and it FELL with you still attached to it, my stomach dropped about twelve feet! As a fellow actor, I know that all the B.S.&T. you put into prepping for a production is hard enough without accidents happening, but they do. And saying "break-a-leg" to each other is a charm against actually
having it happen!
Now, there are some actors who won't go on because of a freakin' hangnail, (and I'm sure you've encountered some of them the same way I have.) But after taking a moment, with the cast and crewmembers checking to make sure you were okay, you and everyone involved decided to soldier on in the best tradition of "The show must go on!" and gave us all performances
that knocked our socks off, regardless!
I just wanted to take the time to write you to say thanks for being such a "super-trooper," and to please pass it on to everyone else in the production. After a four-hour train ride from Fairfax, Virginia, a three hour layover and another four hours back, you still made the trip worthwhile for two great big reasons: you gave me an experience to remember (in more ways
that I can list), and you and the ROCKY cast made me unbelievably proud to be able to call myself an actor.
Again, a thousand times, thanks!!
Sebastian: Chris, Thanks for your support. Wow, what a night that was! As the ring started its ascension I noticed that something felt weird and that I must remember to tell stage management. No sooner than I had finished that thought I had come crashing to the ground and the birthsack was barely hanging on my unijured yet shocked body. "Oh my God! What just happened? How did this happen...now what the @#!%#! do we do?" These were the thoughts now circling my jarred brain. The angels of the universe were close at hand that night because I escaped with minor back injury. What a trippy night!
Even thinking about it now gives me the willies. I guess I could have went home and made them put the understudy on but that thought never crossed my mind. "The show must go on", right? I talked to Raul and Joan and we decided to do it like we did in rehearsal before we got the ring, with each of them holding my wrists. I ran off stage and got a drink of water and I
was ready. After about what felt like a ten or fifteen minute lull we picked up from Tom's line, "LIFE!!!" and we were off, Rocky was reborn. We were all very lucky, especially the producers. If the ring had been a little higher or Tom or Raul or Joan had been underneath if could have been quite a devastating event. The next day we had a rehearsal with one of the gentleman who designed the apparatus and he explained what the problem was. I'm trying not let this incident scare me into feeling unsafe so I got right back on the horse. Fortunately I received a phonecall from the producer the next day. I appreciated the effort. The director has yet to mention it.

Larry asks:My wife and I saw the show on Wednesday night and absolutely loved it!! I have seen the movie many times and a live production in Los Angeles many years ago. You all have done wonderful things with this latest production. You were wonderful, as was the entire cast!!
The show I saw was the one in which there was an accident with the rig that you enter in on. Are you okay? What happened? Also, I was wondering if you could explain how that scene usually works.
Best of luck to you and the entire cast!!
Sebastian: Larry, Indeed it was a scarey night for us all. When you are working with equipment like that, you know that there is the possibility of an accident but you keep that lodged in the back of your mind. Letting thoughts like those rise to the surface will only impede your judgment and you'll constantly second guess yourself and the actions of others. You simply can
not let yourself be afraid. In a nut shell, the cable that lifts the 'birth ring' had some slack that was a result from the way the ring was being lifted from the gurney that particular evening. So when the gurney was pulled from beneath the ring the excess slack made the ring come crashing to the ground. Yikes! It sounds horrible. Well..it was horrible. We were all very lucky.
I escaped with a slightly agitated lower back. The scene usually goes as follows. Once the ring makes a successful ascent to it's full position, which is about ten feet above stage level, Frank cuts the tube connected to my belly (a la embilical chord). The phantoms then yank their tubes, which are attached to different areas of my 'birthsack' and "Voila!", Rocky is born. Revealed glisening from head to foot. It's quite spectacular when its done. I'm sorry you weren't able to experience "the birth" in all it's
glory. You must come back if you get the chance. You're sure to enjoy it.

Mark asks:I, too, saw the show about 6 weeks ago and was amazed by the entire production. The energy was incredible. I read in a previous letter that you met Richard O'Brien. As the creator of "Rocky Horror", did he relay his thoughts on this new production?
Sebastian: Mark, Richaed O'brien was quite an interesting personality. He was extremely happy to see his show back on Broadway. He didn't relay any thoughts on his intrepretation only encouragement to make the show our own. We were really given the freedom to create our own characters. We weren't bound to the confines of the original. Ricard was pleased and thrilled with it all.

Laura asks: Hi Sebastian. I saw Rocky Horror last night.Loved it.Itwas the funniest thing I've seen in ages. I live in New York and work right around the corner from the theatre. So when I was invited to go, I didn't think twice about it. It was absolutely amazing. You are all amazing actors!!!! When you came out, my jaw hit the floor. WOW! You are beautiful. I wish I had gotten a chance to meet you after the show. I know that I will be back to see it, and I hope I get the pleasure of meeting you next time.
How did you first feel about standing almost completely naked in front of hundreds of people?
Thank you for a great show and I hope one day to meet you. And by the way, I like you both as a blonde and a brunette. Hair color is the least important aspect, don't you think?
Sebastian: Laura, Sometimes I do think, "what the hell am I wearing?" But then I just laugh. That's showbiz, right? I actually feel pretty comfortable and I'm in a safe environment. I'm glad you like my dark hair. I do too. Keeping it blond was too much maintainance. I don't feel as though I'm trying to be something I'm not, a waspy blond. I can revel in my ethnicity and say, "Hey, a man with dark hair and a tan can typify beauty as well".

Amanda asks:I saw you in Rocky Horror and you totally kicked ass! I can't wait to see it again. I think you are much more hotter than the Rocky in the movie. I also want to thank you for the signed picture you sent to, actually my friend, Jen, and then she gave it to me. I think it's really cool you respond to people. Not like some people who think they're bigger and better than anyone
else and won't bother writing back. My question is do you have a regular screen name that you use? And what is it if you have one? And you don't have to answer if you don't want to. That's all I really have to say. But "Hi" to you and your dog.
Sebastian: Amanda, Right on! So gald you liked the picture. Your friends letter was very sweet. I was more than happy to respond. I know its daunting when mail goes unanswered but some people are just not the corresponding type. It can get a bit overwhelming. I too have trouble. I don't respond as quickly as I should sometimes but I'm working on that.

James asks: I had the immense pleasure of seeing your performance last night. Frankly, I don't think I will ever be the same again. You were superb. Congratulations! Aside from the obvious amazing body you inspire us all to achieve, your talent is infectious and mezmerizing. I haven't felt this excited over a performance in way too long. What else do you have lined up to do since I unfortunately have not seen your previous work before, I don't plan on missing any future ventures.
Your shiny and new fan, james
Sebastian: Thanks James, What a wonderful compliment. Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in trying to achieve the goals we set for ourselves that we often forget to live in the moment. We are always reaching forward, planning and calculating. Deeds which are neccessary but secondary. I think the greatest gift we can receive as performers is knowing that we have affected someone. Thanks for the gift. I'm diligently trying to create new opportuninties. I would love to start doing films as an actor. All my previous film work was as a dancer. Or perhaps a play.

Jimmy asks: I caught you on Oxygen's Trackers. Thanks so much for reinspiring me. I realize I need to get back in the audition circuit. I did the Rocky Horror Show twice in regional theatres in Memphis and Atlanta. I found it to be such an exhilirating freeing experience(plus my legs looked great after spending two different summers doing intensive dance in heels). Having been a performer(acting, singing, dance) since I was three, I haven't had many inhibitions in front of a crowd. However, I feel that Rocky helped me overcome any lingering inhibitions and trepidations regarding sexuality that I had and allowed me to be free with myself completely in my performing and in life. I was wondering if you feel that the show is as liberating for you also. Anyway, sorry for the long question, best of luck to you in the future.
Sebastian: Jimmy, Inspiration is the key to all creativity. I'm so glad you caught the show on the Oxygen Network. It was my first appearance on a talk show and I was a bit nervous. God luck in your future endeavors. I'm glad that I could help. The show has liberated me as an actor and has created a new awarenwess in my relationship with the audience. It has also given me a new found confidence as an actor and singer. As far as liberating any sexual inhibitions I might have had, the show didn't affect me that way. I do, though, agree with its message of tolerance and with its hypnotizing phrase, "Don't dream it, be it".

Sandra asks: Sebastian, how do you feel about appearing in some of the clothing (or lack there of) that you have appeared in in some national magazines? You've been in G-Strings and had your underwear nearly bitten off by a girl. How do you feel that people may be looking at you that way? How has it affected your career? You must have no inhibitions about your body, but why should you? You're perfect.
Sebastian: Saundra, The human body can be quite beautiful and artistic. Working out and toning one's physique is a form of artistic expression. You are a sculpture. Literrally shaping and molding a piece of clay. It requires constant upkeep but it is something you ultimately feel proud of. Once I started working out I lost most hangs ups I had about my body. I felt liberated and uninhibited. I don't feel any of the photos that I have done have been distasteful or crude. Plus, the publicity has all been linked to my role in the show. Rocky is a boy toy. There is no way around that. It doesn't mean that is who I am. Beauty is different things to different people. My background is mixed ethnicities, at one time considered taboo and something to be ashamed of, but is now viewed as something beautiful. A role traditional played by a waspy blond is now played by a swarthy brunette. That alone is a feat all its own.

Brendan asks: I'm probably the first person to post a message here who has not seen your amazing performance in RHS! Don't hold it against me! I'm working on doing the cheap tickets at Duffy Square but sometimes NY theaters make it too expensive for the young and starving masses like myself to participate. NY should follow in London's footsteps, where they have offered live theater
at a great price for years!
Anyways, I did have the pleasure of seeing the piece Metro Channel's Gotham TV did on you recently. I just wanted to compliment you on how nice and down-to-earth you seem. It's a refreshing change to see performers in that light, especially a rising star like yourself. You were very genuine. Hopefully you'll be able to maintain that demeanor as you continue to shine. Don't let the dark side of fame seduce you. I hope I don't sound too preachy or kitschy-whichever way you look at it. You have a great look too, topped off by that killer smile! Hollywood casting directors take note!
A couple quick questions for you:
1) How long is your contract with RHS?
2) What other projects are you currently working on, if you even have time to, knowing the demanding Broadway schedule?
3) Any LaCause siblings following in your footsteps (no pun intended to the dance thing) :)?
4) Any suggestions for a place to take credible acting classes in NYC? I know everybody and their mother in this city is an actor but it is something that I have really wanted to try for a long time even though I have no formal background or training in it. I just want to see if I would enjoy it and if I do I could pursue it further. But I wouldn't be going into it with any delusions about how tough it is to make it in the business. I need to start soon though-I'm not getting any younger. (24 now)
Good luck with all your future endeavors and always maintain that great rapport you have with fans. It pays off in the end. Take care.
Sebastian: Brendan, Let me start by saying, 24 is not an age to be worrying about being too old to pursue your interest. You have your whole life ahead of you. There are many opportunities to be had and many successses to enjoy. So follow your heart and live your dreams. That being said, thanks for the nice letter. The peice on the Metro Channel was quite fun and I'm extremely thrilled about the way it turned out. It was the first time I was to entertain a camera crew for an entire day, on my own. I was a bit nervous to say the least. I'm currently contracted with the show through April. I'm in the middle of negotiating for the next six months. One big change for the next term will be my hair color. I'm back to being a brunette. As much as I liked having blond hair it was really limiting any possibilities for other projects. I have no siblings to follow in my footsteps. I am an only child. There are many incredible places to study acting in the city. Three places I would reccommend are The MIchael Howard Studios, which is located on 26th street and The Atlantic Theater Company's Acting School and The Stella Adler Conservatory. Michael Howard Studios offers a wide range of classes from scene study to improvisation to on camera and shakespeare workshops. The Atlantic Theater Co. and Stella Adler offer two year professional programs as well as part-time and summer workshops. Make some phonecalls and go check them out.

Marriette asks: Hey Sebastian, I have seen ROCKY HORROR three times so far (I'll be back in may). I am a huge Alice RIpley fan, so she originally drew me to attend the show, but little did i know that there were so many other amazing performers in the show! Tom Hewitt blew me away! and you have such an awesome voice!
So, anyway, my question is: Who or what were/are your biggest influences and inspirations in life?
Sebastian: Mariette, My biggest influences stem from my love of the movie musicals from the 40's and 50's. I used to watch lots of Gene Kelly movies when I was a kid. "Singing in the Rain", was probably my favorite, with "An American in Paris" running a close second. I was also an avid "Fame" watcher. The movie is still pure inspiration for me. The television show touched me in such a way that all I used to fantasize about was going to The High School for the Performing Arts. When I worked with Debbie Allen on the 68th Academy Awards broadcast, I was totally star struck. During the rehearsal period, I felt like I was at the high school. I kept wishing she'd say, "You want fame, well this is where you start paying...in sweat". Those words can still send
shivers up my spine.

Pat asks: Hey Sebastian, I just saw RH this past Tuesday night and thought it was fantastic! Between the audience participation and all of the actors' wittiness, it was an incredible mix. I read about you in TONY and you seem like a well grounded person. I think that attitude is so important and helps to take life's rollercoaster rides into a different perspective. You did an incredible job on the show....your sense of style and personality exploded through Rocky....and your singing - very energetic and powerful...YOU ARE AWESOME! I admire your drive to make every day count and to be focused on what
unique gifts we are given as individuals. Keep up the excellent job! Looking forward to getting the recording once it
comes out ! Oh, and please wish Daphne the best for me ...I saw her in Rent and she rocks!!!!!
Sebastian: Pat, You only have to wait two more months. We recorded the album this past Monday. Its release date is scheduled for May 15th. We had so much fun at the session. It's going to be an incredible record. I can only attribute my
attitude for life to my upbringing. I have a great family who have always supported me in my endeavors. I have also had to work very hard for everything. Nothing was easy. Therefore I hold all my accomplishments at the highest value.

The Divine Ms. J asks: Hey Sebastian~ I asked you a question before and you were kind enough to answer it so I am hoping you can do that again! :) You are not only an amazing body and dancer, but you also have great presence and vocal talents, I was wondering, after you do a show and before, do you or any of the other cast members do anything special to prepare yourself and do you go on vocal rest through the day at all? I know you always keep your throat warm cause whenever I've met you you've had on a HUGE parka or something else warm! :) But I was just curious as to any of your other methods!:) Thanks for your time. - "The Divine Ms.J"
Sebastian: Divine Miss J, I really don't have any rituals or special preparations aside from drinking water and doing a vocal warm up before the show. I have a lot of time before my entrance to relax and get concentrated. Those are two of the goals that I try to achieve before I go on each night.

Lance asks: How are you? I hope the toe is doing better. I'm writing you from southern Ohio.......I'm several hours away from Akron, but still a fellow Ohioan nonetheless. I live in a small town and unfortunately don't get the cultural stimulation that I would if I lived in a bigger city such as New York. I do enjoy travelling and NYC is one of my favorite places in the world.
I've always been a big fan of The Rocky Horror Picture Show so when I heard that they were putting it back on Broadway I was excited and a little bit skeptical. In order to do it justice, casting would be so incredibly important. Then I saw you on the cover of HX and Time Out.......all I can say is "WOW!" I could not save up my money and book a trip to NYC fast enough. I'll be in the front row on Saturday, April 21 (the early show) and I have never been more excited!! PLEASE wear steel toed shoes until then .........I don't want anything else happening to those toes before I get there. :o)
Sebastian: Lance, Thanks for all your questions. Ohio..."It was the best of times, it was the worst of times". It holds a lot of wonderful memories for me, but there, I always felt out of place. It thrills me to hear that you enjoyed the covers. Doing press for this show has been such an incredible learning experience. My toe is healing nicely, thank you for your concern. I now don
a pair of white wrestling boots with red trim so, with any luck I'll be free of injury from this moment on. Although I did see the movie in high school, I don't remember it having much of an impact on my life. I liked it and I thought it was different but the film "Sid and Nancy", (shown at the same theater) had much more of an affect on me. It was so dark and sexy that it both frighhtened and titilated me. In this business where beauty is a commodity, being recognized for having it is can be a blessing as well as a curse. There is always someone else who is better looking, sexier or who has flatter abs. The most I can do is to be the best actor I can be.

Danielle asks: Hey Sebastian :o) I just wanted to say I went to "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" last night, and it was outstanding!!....I wanted to compliment you on such a great performance...And might I add you have a body like Michelangelo's "David"... ;o)
You are definitely a work of art!...And lastly, I was just curious to know if you planned on doing movies as well as Broadway??....
Sebastian: Hello Danielle, Yes, I would love to do films. That is my plan of action. It's quite an arduous task but one that I am whole hardedly prepared for. Some of the actors I most admire are; Robert DeNiro, Russel Crowe, Kevin Spacey and John Malchovich.

I was wondering if you could send me an autographed playbill, or something... I never had time to stay after the show for autographs. Thanks! Best of luck to you and the talented cast!
Sebastian: Hey Robert, I would be happy to send you an autograph. Send a self addressed stamped envelope to me at the theater and I'll get you your autograph. Wow, 5 times, that's wonderful! And thanks for the kind words.

If it is then I must be proud of me for seeing you once in RH and then being able to pick you out....it is that charming smile of yours....So was it you??
Sebastian: Jesyca, I'm so sorry to report that I have never performed on SNL to date. It must have been a Sebastian look-a-like.

Katie asks: Hi. My name is Katie Whitehurst and I saw you in Rocky Horror on Sunday February 19. You were awesome!! I was in NY on a trip through my school for the weekend, and our teacher thought Rocky Horror would be a good experience. I am a "Virgin" to it as you say, and I was blown away! It was amazing! I stayed after the show and got your autograph and a picture with you...you were really nice about it by the way. It probably sucks to be all tired from a show and have to go out and act all peppy and happy while people are throwing programs at your face and asking you to sign them!
Anyways, I was looking at the program and I saw you had a website, so I checked it out. I read your bio and about had a heart attack. I am from Akron, Ohio too. It was really weird because you hardly ever hear of anyone from Akron, but I thought that was cool. Well, I'll let you go. Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the show, and the fact that you're from my hometown. It gives me hope that I can get out of here and do something really cool someday!
Katie
Sebastian: Katie, Greetings fellow Akronite! I'm thrilled to hear that I inspire you to dream beyond our hometown. Ohio is a wonderful place to have roots but enhancing your life experience by exploring the world is advice to live by. There are so many opportunities to be had and events to be witnessed. Stay focused, concentrated and aware and see what life unfolds for you.

Paul asks: I just saw Rocky Horror last night and was so glad you were in it and so glad I had seats so close to the action. I was seating one seat from where Eddie comes out. Your body was so amazing. I thougt you were wonderfulwhen I saw you in HX's 10 beautiful men issue, but you also look great as a blonde. If you don't make People's Most Beautiful issue, there's no justice. It's a shame the role doesn't give you more of a chance to show your talent, but no one else could take that role.
Sebastian: Paul, Thank you. Maintaining this physique is quite the chore. Trying to live up to someone's idea of the "perfect man" is not easy. Eventhough the "someone" is a fictional, alien mad scientist, transvestite. I appreciate the adulation.
The role of Rocky does appear less challenging than it actually is. The formidable task lies in ones ability to make this part more than what's written on the page. In the beginning it seemed dauntingly arduous. The text is so abstract and silly that I could not find my way around it. It has become a wonderful lesson in comic timing and rhythm and how to be the most economical in my actions. Meaning, how to do as little as possible to get done what is needed to be done, not pushing. I love Rocky, he's not tainted. It's fun to explore that side of yourself.

Calvin asks: First I would love to start off by saying you were the bomb in last night's performance. I got to see the show for the first time live and I would love to check you out once again. I just loved it.
I loved your outfit, and that ASS! WOW! You left me dizzy and craving for something just as similar. God Bless ya!
I am 24, Latino, and I have always dreamed of being a stage/theatre actor. I have never followed my dream to be a part of the theatrical experience. I would give anything, even if it is to pass the playbills and be an usher just to live out my dream. Is there any advice you can give me? I really would like to start persuing my acting career, unless I'm too old.
I got your website off the playbill and I had to rush to you and email you. My Dream Booty! *batting my lashes and sighing loud*
WELL PAPA, I just wanted to thank you for that ABSOLUTE PLEASURE you have given me last night.
Sebastian: Calvin, at 24, you are far from "too old" to pursue you dream of theater or anything else you care to dream up. I would advise you to explore some classes in acting or vocal technique. This is a great way to discover and survey this new territory. It's also a great outlet if you realize you'd simply enjoy doing it as a hobby. Search out a good scene study class, find a vocal coach or both. Manhattan is a sea of opportunity, dive in and find your oysters.

We got to the show a bit late b/c of the weather, but we came in time to see you. I'm never like this but I was acting like a 13 year old girl at a Backstreet Boys concert. I thought you were extremely sexy and talented.
As soon as I got home at 3 in the morning, I went to see your website. Although, I recently got back together with my ex boyfriend who has been the center of my universe for the past year and a half, you made me realize that there are plenty of other fish in the sea. Thanks, I guess. Your body is totally hot and I'm sure you hear that all the time, but I just can't seem to help myself.

Sebastian: Dear Lady in Red, Your enthusiasm is rousing, thank you. Although your experience led you to realize that there are other fish in the sea, I'm glad to hear you found someone whom you adore so much. Be happy.

The show was fun, and very different from all other broadway shows i've seen. I really enjoyed it, and enjoyed you as Rocky. It's tough hurting a toe, i hurt mine and theres nothing they can do for it..so i feel
your pain! I was just wondering,
~*Do you have any other jobs on the side when your not in a show?
~*Since your name was Billy, how did you choose the name Sebastian?
Also, in what scenes in Scream 2 were you in? now that i've met you, i wanna take a second look at the movie!
By the way, great cast in the show. Everyone i spoke to was so nice and down to earth. I could have been going to school with your castmate John Jeffrey Martin at Syracuse! It was cool seeing the real side of all you guys after the show. Thanks for your time, Best Wishes always,
~*Paige*~
Sebastian: Paige, Well my toe has almost fully recovered. It's true, there is nothing to do for toes except tape it to it's neighbor toe.
Previously in my dance career I did not support myself with "normal" jobs while I was not working in the entertainment field. The down time I experienced was never monumental. Now that I am changing gears and pursuing an acting career I am prepared for that to change. I actually was certified and worked as a bartender prior to RH, so if the need arises I'll start slinging drinks again. In this business you must be prepared for anything. Sebastian was my name from my third grade confirmation and was then changed to my middle name. After high school I started using it professionally.

Sebastian: Eddie, There hasn't been anyone who I've been surprised to see but among the celebrities I have met at the show are Jessica Lang and her children, Debbie Harry, Cameron Mannheim, Betty Buckley, Sandra Bernhard, Richard O'Brien and Sue from "Survivor". I would love to meet Susan Sarrandon, Tim Curry, Gweneth Paltry, Julia Roberts, Brad and Jennifer on and on I could go.

Robert asks: Hi there Sebastian!
I've seen RH live twice now and loved it both times! One time I saw the show your microphone went dead during your first song and you handled it very well...you can think on your feet (or in the air as the case may be). Good for you!
I'm kind of disappointed in 2 things, and I wanted your perspective here:
First, when they went a whole different way in casting you as Rocky I thought that was great. A darker, handsome guy is fine to me. Rocky doesn't have to be the WASPy type in order for the character to work well. But WHY on earth did they bleach your hair blond? To me, that's such a cop-out. Either go with the blond Aryan type or else go in a completely other direction. The producers did this with Joan Jett as Columbia (i.e.., in appearance, she's *completely* different than the film's Columbia) and it worked great! Why did the producers hedge when it came to your appearance and who you are? There's no way anyone thinks you're a natural blond, so why fudge it half way? [the line to describe you: "...with blond hair and a tan" could have been tweaked easily enough]. They should have just gone with who you are! Any views on this?
Second, you mentioned in an interview that you had at first decided after being in the chorus/company of shows for a while, you were going to pull back, study, bartend and develop yourself as more of a primary performer. I think this is great, but why did you feel the need to sort of drop out of dancing and singing in the company in order to also develop yourself in class at the same time? Do people in the business (producers) not look at you in the same way if you are working in the chorus (for the time-being), even if you are studying and developing your broader talents elsewhere at the same time? So why was it apparently a case of "either/or" for you?
BTW, Jarrod Emick as Brad has a whole lot more sex appeal than Barry Bostwick ever did. Do you think that his hunkier appearance detracts from your "Rocky" character? My impression is that Rocky should be, by far, the cutest one in the cast...and you two are running about neck and neck IMO.
Sorry this message turned out to be so long. I didn't intend it to be. I realize that if this message is posted on your site, it'll have to be edited down quite a bit. That's fine with me; use whatever you like (if anything).
Thanks and keep up the good work!
Robert
Sebastian:Robert, I can't really answer you question fairly regarding the hair because I was not at the production meetings where it was discussed. However, I do know that originally the creative team did want to cast the wasp type for the role. The creative team included not only the producer, director and designers but also Chris Malcolm, who owns the rights. He was very particular about certain elements that he wanted to remain authentic. The "RH" logo for one and a blond Rocky another. Fortunately, after their extensive search they discovered that I had the qualities for Rocky that they had been looking for. No one is trying to pass me off as a natural blond. My ethnicity still shines through I just think the hair is a signature. They still went a nontraditional way in the casting, like with Joan Jett and Lea De Laria but there still needs to be an element of familiarity.
For me, deciding to pull back from chorus work to pursue more prominent roles was a smart decision. My career as a dancer was quite plentiful. I worked in L.A. for seven years and did all the best jobs. Plus, I had already been working on Broadway while actively striving towards an acting career and I felt as though I was acting on the side. Also, casting directors and producers do indirectly pigeon hole ensemble members. It's easier for them to see you as just one thing, a dancer, a singer or an actor who sings. They don't have to work hard that way. This approach made me do the work. You can't expect people to know what you want. You have to show them. I wanted to be an actor so that's what I showed them.
Now, as far as Brad detracting from Rocky. People are attracted to many different types. For some, Rocky is ideal, for others he is not. And I'm fine with that. I feel, accepting diversity is the theme of this play and the fact that you find Brad as attractive as Rocky is really A-OK with me.

Sebastian: Steve, Indeed you will find me in two Broadway Bares benefits. In BB IX, I don a silver suit and short black hair and work my way down to a strategically placed Top hat. I was known to some as Mr. January. BB X, finds me sporting dark curly locks and stripping down to gold briefs and beyond to "Body Beautiful". Broadway Cares is an extraordinary organization and I'm always honored to be featured in their benefits.

I was also wondering if there was a date set for a recording to be released? I was also wondering how i would be able to get an autographed picture of you.
THANKS- ARCHIE : )
Sebastian: Hey Archie! All I can relay tell you about the recording is that the producers are doing their best to insure that we get a cast album recorded by April. There were plans to have done it in December of last year but finalizing a date that accommodated everyone's schedule was the problem. If you're interested in a signed photo of me, simply send a self addressed stamped envelope, preferably 9''x12'', to me at the theater (the address can be found below in a Q&A from "Ronnie"). Alice asks: Mr. LaCause, Thank you so much for answering my first question. You have quite a way with words. I have another question for you: How do you feel about the illegal Rocky Horror things being circulated on the Internet - places like Napster, things like that?
- Alice
Sebastian: Hey Alice, I definitely feel that Napster undermines the legitimate business end of the music industry. In the areas of the CD single or newly released material, I think Napster should have to pay a licensing fee for the art it's stealing. Basically they are business of theft. They are hitting below the belt and I think the artist will suffer in the long run. Unfortunately there
is a market for them; the people who hit their site and download the material. People are always looking for a deal or a shortcut. This stuff is free. Where's a better bargain? On the flip side, in the instances of searching for material that is obscure or out of print, it's a great tool. But where do you draw the line. Internet law is still highly uncharted territory and until we configure boundaries, there will always be upset.

Jaclyn asks: Dear Sebastian~ I absolutely LOVE the RHSL!! It is amazing! And you are just stunning! I have seen the show twice and I plan on going again in February. Your body is absolutely gorgeous and your really a great actor, I love the way that all of you in the cast have made such a widely performed show new and fresh, and made each character truly your own! I have a few questions to ask you. ONE: Do you ever find yourself onstage just thinking "Oh my God, I am on Broadway?", and how wonderful that is? TWO: You have an understudy, Jonathan Sharp, do you and him have to run the show together so he can learn it as well, and do you try to keep from sending someone else besides yourself on, when possible? Three: Do you and Alice ever find it strange to be getting so close? Thanks a lot! And PLEASE make that cast recording soon! :)
Sebastian: Hey Jaclyn! I do have moments when I stop and take it all in. If you forget to do that, you can begin to take it all for granted. Then it looses it's magic and becomes tedious. My understudy, Johnathan Sharp, only goes on if I'm incapable. Like now, for instance. I broke my right pinky toe during a performance last week and will be out until Saturday February 10. Johnathan has had rehearsals, with the other understudies, since we opened in November. During the original rehearsal period the understudies watch and take notes as well as perform their roles as phantoms.

Celia asks: Hey Sebastian (first of all I love that name), I've seen Rocky Horror Live three times so far, and I hope to come more. Although I'm only 16, its been my favorite movie forever, and seeing it on stage is awesome. I loved your
character interpretation and although I also loved Rocky (Peter someone) in the movie... I love your character a lot more. You were much more baby cute and adorable...which helped you win the crowd over by the end of The Sword of Damacles. I also think that is is incredible that you went to NYU as a dance major but have switch over to being an actor. I'm a dancer (dancing basically 20 hours a week) and I know that is what I want to do when I'm older, but I
also want to try Broadway. I think you are a real role model for me and it gives me hope that one day, I too can switch around with my career. So how was working on Rocky Horror before it opened? Did the cast have any kind of
say in the shows incredible choices? Rocky just gets me very excited and I hope that it never closes. You should stay as Rocky FOREVER! ( also how to keep in such good shape? I mean seriously you have an AMAZING body! everyone
in the house was very excited to see basically every piece to you.... except for one of course) Well thanx for reading this and I hope you respond... Love always, Celia DeVoe (an inspiring performer)
P.S. I'm always looking for connections, j/k!
Sebastian: Celia-You are very sweet, Thank You. Working on RH was an exciting time for me. I was charting new ground. From the moment I walked into the rehearsal space at The 42nd St. Studios, I felt different. No longer was I part of a collective. I was an individual. Identified by name. I was Rocky...I was different. Not from my fellow castmates but from myself. I had won my first role, it was a turning point. I was also very nervous. Now I had to pull it off. The cast is so incredible and talented I felt a little intimidated. Once I began to find the right acting choices for Rocky, everything began to fall into place. I just wish it could have happened before previews. I must admit I do enjoy being a blond. I like having the opportunity to play around with a different and distinct look.

Barry asks: I think tattoos & piercings are really sexy & I liked yours. What are the two tats you have & do you have any other tats or piercings (you want to talk about?)
Thanks, Barry
Sebastian: Barry, the tattoo on my lower back I had done when I was about 23. I was living in L.A. at the time. It is a centaur. No, I am not a Sagittarius, I just thought it was a cool, sexy image. The one on my thigh was done about
two years later. The belief that once you get one (tattoo), you feel compelled to get more, was true for me. I still fight the urge. Anyway, the one on my leg is my ruling planet, Saturn, in god form. It's a god rising from a bed of clouds holding a baby in one hand and a sickle in the other. Saturn is the planet that represents hard work ethics and responsibility.
Hence the baby (responsibility) and the sickle (hard work).

Alex asks: Hello Sebastian, First of all I want to say I loved Rocky Horror Live! and you did a wonderful job.
What I want to know is what kind of dance training have you had (how many years? ballet, jazz, modern?) and what was your favorite?
Second, I was wondering if the show was planning on touring. I know a lot of people out here (AZ) who couldn't make it to NYC, but would really like to see the show.
Thanks so much, ~Alex
Sebastian: Hey Alex, I began my dance training when I was six years old at a small tap and jazz studio in Akron, Ohio. When I was thirteen I received a scholarship at The Ballet Institute. It was a school funded by The Ohio Ballet at Akron University. After high school, I applied to one university only, NYU. Once I got in my visit was very short but that was a high intensity ballet and modern school. At that time I began exploring the jazz world at Steps dance studio on the Upper Westside of Manhattan and Broadway Dance in midtown. Eventually I received my first job and left school. When I moved to L.A. I studied at Joe Tremaine's studio and at The Edge studios. I was fortunate to have studied with many different teachers learning many different styles. This made it possible for me to obtain work on both coasts as a dancer which, at the time, was not very common. The New York dancers were usually only good at theater dance and the West Coast kids at working it for the cameras. Nobody in L.A. was really interested in Broadway. Frankly the money wasn't that appealing.
Plus the jobs were way more glamorous in L.A.

I just had a relationship end with a lot of trouble, and seeing the show was the first time I laughed & had a good time for awhile. Your dancing was great & of course you look super. Looking forward to seeing the show again soon & you with your great dancing & acting. Hope you have a great future in the biz :)
Eddie
Sebastian: Eddie, Thank you for the kind words. Ending a relationship is never easy but my philosophy is that there are no coincidences in life, everything happens for a reason. Although, whether we can see that through our haze of uncertainness at the time of trouble is questionable. The universe will only give you what you can handle at any given time. I use that to make myself stronger. Therefore, telling myself, "Hey, I can handle this." Surrendering to these forces are tough. I'm happy to hear that RH could help you release that energy, if even for a moment.

I'd also like to say that you were awesome, as was the entire cast, and I give you a lot of credit for doing the rest of the show, and still signing Playbills afterwards!!! Thank you!
-Ali
Sebastian: Hey Ali, My toe is on the mend as we speak. I couldn't believe I broke it. What a nightmare. Being out of the show has been absolute torture. Having time off is only fun when you want time off. Most of the swelling went down
the following day. Unfortunately, the only thing you can do for a broken toe is to tape it to another toe. I plan on coming back this week. It doesn't hurt anymore, I don't have a limp and I'm wearing shoes. All of those are good signs. Speaking of shoes, Rocky will now be wearing some in the show.
Thanks for your concern.

I've seen each of your Broadway appearances since "Once Upon A Mattress" including "Chicago" a few times ( I'm friends with Karen and kept coming back to see her play Roxie ). You were a terrific Harry!
Congratulations on your cover shot on Time Out New York! Also wish you continued success!

I have been going through
a very rough time, i was 220 pounds and very upset with myself, i starved myself and exercised excesive amounts, then i got sick of doin that that i became bulemis to keep the weight off. i went to get help and realized basically i was killing myself, damaging my heart and my throat which was not good since i sing. I first saw RHS my first week of therapy and when i saw how in shape everyone in the show was, i realized thats the way i wanted to do it. Now i maintain a healthy diet and exercise on a normal schedule. I loved u and especially loved Daphne Rubin-Vega and Tom Hewitt. What an amazing cast. I know its stupid for me to even mention but it would be sooooo amazing if i could meet some of you, i know there's not a chance so if not i was just wodnerin if there is any possible way to get like an autigraphed something from either you or the whole cast. it would really make my year!
I have been in every school show and some community theater since i was in 5th grade. This year alone i was Glen Cooper in Neil Simon's RUMORS, Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, and right now at this moment i am Bernardo
in West Side Story. I love being Bernardo, it just sucks that i die before intermission, but hey. I just wanted to know what and when did you decide that this is what you wanted to do. Also, i do not take dance lessons, but i do pick up quickly, and i have had some voice lessons, what would you recommend to prepare me for the auditioning world out there?
And if you happen to be out in the little town of Springfield, NJ March 22, 23, and 24 come see me in West Side Story.
KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK
ROCKY HORROR LIVES #1 FAN,
Josh
Sebastian: Josh, my advice to you would be this: when first starting out on the audition trail, hit as many stops as you can. The art of auditioning is a craft all its own and takes time and practice to master. Be prepared. Have an updated
resume and a current photo. Remember, your picture is your calling card. Make sure it looks like you and it's a nice photo. Know your material. Whether they have given you sides or music, try to have a good understanding of what you are acting or singing. Don't be afraid to ask questions. And lastly, do your best to convey some feeling or action when you sing, don't simply sing the words. When I say action, I don't mean doing something physically, I mean have an objective. That simply translates to knowing what your singing about and communicating that message to your audience.

Thanks for being exactly who you are! Later Dude!

Sebastian: A.J., I have yet to encounter anyone who has been truly rude or obnoxious although I'm sure the day will come. Thus far, everyone has been quite nice. They usually just want to say hello and have something signed or take a
picture. I don't know if pictures from my site will be available, I haven't thought that far ahead. It's a big undertaking that I'm not yet prepared for. Anyone can send a self addressed stamped envelope to me at the theater and I'm more than happy to send signed photos of what I do have (the theater's address is located in a Q&A below). It's the best show I've ever seen. I want to just tell you what a great job you did playing Rocky. It was an excellent performance. And I give you a lot of credit for performing with a broken toe. You covered it up well. My cousin and I tried to think of when we thought it happened and we really haven't got the slightest clue. You are an amazing actor/dancer/singer and I want to congradulate you on all your success, you truely deserve it. Oh I was wondering, which part did you break your toe in? I'll be back to see the show again and again, I can't wait.
By the way, I love your name.
Thanks! Danielle*
Sebastian: Danielle, I broke my toe at the top of second act when I run under the veil to my hiding place behind the fuzzy wheel unit. As I was ducking behind the unit my right pinky toe was left behind. What rotten luck! Therefore I had Dick's monologue and the two bed scenes to exam my toe and wonder why it was looking in a different direction then it's fellow toe mates. What could I do? I was trapped on stage. After "Touch Me", with Alice, I went to the stage management office where my toes were tapped together by Brian, our stage manager, and then I went to my next cue. So, the next trick was going to be if I could fit my mangled toe into my "Floor Show" pump. Not a chance. OK. Now what? Do it barefoot. What a night!

How was it to work with Madonna? I just wanted to say you were great and so was the show! Bye (Please Write back!! :)
~Amy~
Sebastian: Hi Amy! Actually, in the beginning, I had a little difficulty in making choices for Rocky. Did I want to play him as monster like creature or as an alien type being? I watched some old horror flicks and "Starman" with Jeff Bridges for inspiration. Ultimately, I decided on the choice of a child being born in man's body. I could play the innocence and naivety plus all the discovery and wonder. Then for more fun throw in the sexual exploration of a man. Once I found the right choices it became easier. Now it's pure fun. Working with Madonna was amazing. She has this incredible presence and
is an extremely hard worker, gorgeous skin and beautiful eyes. I couldn't take my eyes off her.

Lauren asks: Hey! I just saw Rocky Horror and I thought it was great! I have a couple questions:
1) Were you ever intimidated working with big stars like Liza and Madonna?
2) Did you always want to be an actor?
Thanks! Lauren
Sebastian:Lauren, working with both Liza and Madonna was extremely intimidating, at first. Madonna did her best to make me feel comfortable simply by treating me as a peer. She was very sweet and kind. I had met her twice before I worked with her so we weren't total strangers. One of the coolest moments of my Madonna experience was when she took myself and the other dancer, Luca, shopping for our costumes for the performance. We rehearsed here, in NYC, so after one of the rehearsals her driver took us to Charivari, which used to be on 57th near 5th Ave. Charivari was a great store that carried all the major designers. It was totally trippy being in the store with her while she picked out clothes and held them up to me to see if she liked them. It was truly like, going to your prom with the most popular girl in highschool. Yes, I have
always wanted to be an actor. I have known since I was 6 years old. At that time I just knew I wanted to be Gene Kelley. Since that moment I have been working towards my dream.

Chad asks: Hey! hi my name is chadd. i was wondering if you really read these messages. If so you are awsome if not your still awsome!! :) i saw rocky horror while it was still in previews it was the most fun i ever had. you are so awsome and great looking. i have a couple of questions 1: what is it like to work with daphne? i think she is so awsome i'm like the biggest rent head i want to be mark ne ways 2: did you like nyu? i want to go there but got denied for early decision so ya know i'm trying to get a poll on weither or not i should try to transfer after next year. i want to study musical theatre so? i'm sorry i'm rambling about my life thanks for your time :)chadd
Sebastian:Hey Chadd- I have someone screen the messages first and they then transfer all that are appropriate and not disrespectful, to me. So I do read most all of the messages. Working with Daphne has been a little bit of heaven. She is incredibly smart, spontaneous, talented, sexy and witty. We have shared many laughs. She, indirectly has taught me to listen to music differently. With the ear of a singer not a dancer. To me, they are not interchangeable because the end products are not the same. Her style of singing is so unique, I adore her. She's "good people". NYU was an incredible experience for me, although it was very short. I was instantly sidetracked by "the business". It was everywhere. I couldn't keep from auditioning which ultimately ended in my withdrawal when I landed my first job. So, if you can withstand the temptation then go for it. If not, stay put until you finish your education.

Keith asks: Hello Sebastian!!
I flew from Florida to NYC to see "Rocky Horror Live" just for Joan Jett alone!! I'm a die-hard JettFan. And YOU just blew my mind. Your beauty is un-paralleled! But aside from the shallow stuff, I do have a sincere question. What is it like working with Joan Jett on a daily basis? I noticed you two had QUITE THE CHEMISTRY!! I was a bit jealous!! (of you both!). Joan
(the night I saw you all anyway - January 14, 7pm show) - kept slapping everyone on the ass!! GO JOAN!!
Sebastian: Keith, Joan Jett is the coolest chic! She is truly a strong women with a warm heart and a sense of mysticism. She's unpretentious, sometimes silly, sometimes serious but always soulful.

Alice asks: Dear Mr. LaCause, You are so talented, and so sexy . Most likely the sexiest on Broadway, which is lucky, because we can see you in a thong ;-) To be more serious, you are so talented. It's great you are getting recognition, because you're easily the best man on Broadway right now. I have a few questions:
--Who does your website? If it's you, that's so great. I had no idea you were computer savvy.
--Have you missed a show of Rocky yet? I'm seeing it in February, and hopefully I'll get to see you.
--You went to a New York City college. Which was it, and what shows did you do there?
Sebastian: Hey Alice! Unfortunately I am far from computer savvy. My extremely smart friend put up this temporary site until I can get something more elaborate done. To this date I have not yet missed a show. I'm meticulous about my
workouts and very health conscience. I do my best to maintain good health and a strong body. I did go to NYU but I was a dance major and only for a brief moment. I did one concert but the title escapes me. My first semester, I started auditioning and quickly landed my first job. I took a professional leave from school and never looked back.

Jason asks: Hey! I just wanted to say how much I have appreciated some of your performances. You have an Excellent
voice....and of course...have to say it....a great body. My first question was if you had any tricks of the musical theater buisness? What's the most important skill?
Sebastian: Jason, I don't believe I have any tricks of the trade. What I can attribute to my accomplishments is shear determination, a lot of trial and error, and the fact that I was trained in many different styles of dance. This in turn
made me pliable and able to adapt to any choreographer's style. Honing your vocal quality and acting skills are also very important. If I do have a "trick", it would be that I try to bring my personality to all my work whether it be dancing, singing or acting. Without that you are empty and no amount of training can overshadow that. I must say that I believe the most vital skill is learning how to make smart career decisions. For example, when to leave a show or what job or audition to turn down and what to fight for during your contract negotiations. Being smart about the business.

John asks: Mr. LaCause, hope this finds you well. I just wanted to drop a line to let you know how much I have enjoyed your performances over the years. I had the good fortune to see you in "Chicago", "Minnelli On Minnelli" and most recently "The Rocky Horror Show". It is always a great joy to watch a performer change and grow from role to role. Your performance in Broadway Bares IX was one of the most freeing and exhilarating moments I have seen on stage in quite a while. Now to my questions. Is there a "dream role" you have, either in a musical or play-one that you would give anything to do? And also, are there any plans for future movies? Anyone who was in "Showgirls" is already tops on my list, but your stage work just makes it even better. I close with my best wishes for your continued health, happiness and success. Take care. With warm regards, John
Sebastian: Thanks John! I don't know if I have a "dream" role. Maybe, over time one will present itself to me. I would prefer to be able to create new characters and break new ground. As for future film work, I'm diligently pursuing a career in that arena. I feel as though I have finally turned the corner and I'm heading in a new direction filled with incredible opportunity. There is still a long journey ahead with many obstacles to overcome but this is a very exciting time and I'm eager to get started.

Farin asks: Hi Sebastian. My name is Farin, and I just saw the Rocky Horror Show live for the first time this past Sunday. You were really so fun to watch, and it was really fun to do the Time Warp with you at the end (my friend and I were in the second row). I was just wondering: 1) What made you decide to go and audition for Rocky? 2) How long does it take to get all that glitter off? Thanks so much and I hope to see you again! --Farin
Sebastian: I decided to audition for RH for one simple reason. It was a role. A few months earlier I had sworn off all chorus calls, received my certification in the art of mixology at The NY Bartenders Assoc. and enrolled in the two year
professional program at The Atlantic Theater Co. The plan was to try to get into any theater company or play that would take me. With the advice of my best friend I started networking. Soon after the audition for RH presented itself. I jumped on it. Unfortunately, when I took 'Sword of Damocles' to my vocal coach we discovered it was out of my range. Well, I threw out the sheet music and told my agent it was too high. A few days later she called to inform me that they really wanted to see me and that I could sing it in whichever key felt comfortable. After about four auditions over a two and a half month period, I landed the role. And the answer to your second question is: I never really get all the glitter off.

Cindy asks: I've seen The Rocky Horror Show a few times now, the cast is just wonderful and you are one of the highlights! I also want to compliment you on your website, it's very well done and the Q&A section is great.
My friends and I are eagerly awaiting a cast recording from this production of Rocky Horror. Do you know if one is in the works for the (hopefully very
near) future?
Sebastian: To the best of my knowledge the producers are planning to do a cast recording. Before the holidays they were sorting through a few dates but
couldn't confirm a date where everyone was available. So sit tight, hopefully we'll get one done soon.

Adam asks: Man, I don't know whether to hate you or to make you my new best friend. You've already reached many goals that I have set for myself-one, performing with Madonna; two, performing on Broadway; three, being in movies, and the list goes on. Many congrats on your list of accomplishments. I enjoyed your performance in the RHS. (Much better than Peter Hinwood :) ) You were as all the reviews said, "GREAT!" and "SO DAMN BUFF!", but I personally think that you and Alice need to get a little more bumping and grinding going on.
My questions to you are most random, don't think too hard...
1. If you could have any super hero's power, what would it be and why?
2. Describe yourself using only three words.
3. What is the best advice you have ever received?
4. What is your favorite quote?
5. If you could sum up your life with one song title, what would it be?
You rock! Take care of yourself! Thanks for your time!
Sebastian: Here are you answers, Adam:
1. I've always had a flying fixation so I would have to say, Superman's flying powers. I've had many flying dreams and just think of what I'd save on airfare.
2. Assertive, focused, silly
3. Never take yourself too seriously and learn how to network.
4. "Each progessive spirit is opposed by a thousand mediocre minds appointed to guard the past."
5. "The Long and Winding Road," by The Beatles
Thanks Adam.

Jen asks: Hey, first I would like to say thank-you for replying to my letter that I sent you. I really loved you in the "Rocky Horror Show Live". I was wondering though if you were married? Also I wanted to know how old you were? Do you watch T.V? If so what are your favorite shows? What's your favorite movie? If its not to much trouble please respond to my e-mail. Thank you sooooooo much for everything!
Sebastian: Hey Jen! No, I am not married and I am 29 years old. I must admit I do enjoy watching TV. Although, with the schedule I keep I'm usually more inclined to watch latenight shows such as, Frasier and Cheers reruns. I'm addicted to all things related to the entertainment industry, therefore the E! channel is one of my favorites. I am particularly fond of 'The E True Hollywood Story' series or the specials on Supermodels. I also have an affinity for Bravo's 'Inside the Actor's Studio'. One of my favorite movies is 'A Streetcar Named Desire'. Marlon Brando is phenomenal. It is one of the greatest films of all time.

Hamilton asks: Like many theatergoers in New York City, I first became aware of you talents when you performed in "Chicago," and later in "Minnelli on Minnelli." Would you care to comment on what those shows meant to you, as a performer. Also, if "Rocky Horror" closes before "Chicago," is there a possibly of your returning to that show again? I'd really enjoy seeing you play Harry or Fred Casely again, or even (why not?) Billy Flynn. Finally, assuming Liza makes a full recovery (as all her fans are hoping and praying), could you see yourself going out on tour with her at this point in your career? Best wishes for your continued success.
Sebastian: Chicago was an amazing experience. It was the type of job that completely feed my artistic appetite. We were granted a lot of freedom to improvise what movement, in the Fosse style, we wanted to do. I also was fortunate as to have had the opportunity to work with, the remarkably talented, Ann Reinking. Dancing in a Fosse show was one of my dreams, as a dancer. My only Fosse experiences were seeing his films. I fell in love with 'All That Jazz', 'Pippin', 'Cabaret' and of course 'Sweet Charity'. I was utterly drawn to his artistry. Later I learned I had an innate sensibility for his movement. It took three auditions to land the gig but I was the first cast member to land the Broadway company without having to do one of the tours first. Minnelli on Minnelli was important on another level. It was my opportunity to be featured on a Broadway stage, as a personality and as a singer. I had worked with Liza on The 68th Academy Awards broadcast and thought it would be great to work with her again. From what I know, Liza is
resting and doing well in Florida. I don't see myself going back to 'Chicago' or back on tour with Liza. If 'Rocky' closes I would continue on my journey as a leading actor, seeking more roles in theater, off or on Broadway, and in films.

Sam asks: I'm an aspiring actor/dancer, so I would like to know this:
1) How did you get such an amaaaaazing body?
2) What do you like to sing at auditions?
3) What is the most embarassing thing to happen to you onstage to date?
Sebastian: 1) I have been training with weights since the age of 19 and I started dancing at age 6. Fitness has always had it's place in my life. I began to see a major change in my physique a few years ago when I changed my diet and charged up my weight lifting routine. My training cycle is four days on and one day off. I work one large muscle group followed by a small group. For example, chest then triceps or back then biceps. I do three to four sets of about 10 or 12 repetitions. Heavier weight with fewer reps builds muscle and lighter weight with higher reps will tone and tighten. I try to maintain a low-fat, high- protein diet. It's difficult but your diet is extremely important. I sometimes stray from that path and my body always changes for the worse. Luckily my costume in the show keeps me motivated.
2) I have a couple of songs I always sing. If it is a contemporary audition I'll sing Billy Joel's 'Honesty'. Or I have a jazzy standard called 'A Nightingale in Berkeley Square', or for something dramatic I'll do 'Funny' from 'City of Angels'.
3) My most embarrassing moment on stage was on the first national tour of Kiss of the Spiderwomen with Chita Rivera. At the end of Act I, the four dancers were dancing in a circle around the two leads as the music plays and the curtain comes down. Well, our formation was a little too far down stage, which is closer to the audience. When the curtain came down I found myself on the wrong side of the it! I was on the side with the audience! It all happened so fast. The curtain came down and the house lights came up and there I was by myself staring at the audience. We laughed for weeks over that.
Thanks Sam.

Tim asks: I just saw Rocky Horror Show Live, and you were awesome. You were meant for this role! It was my first Broadway show and I loved it! The show was great and so were you. What are your plans after it ends? Will you be doing another show?
Regards, A true Rocky Horror fan...
Sebastian: Thanks Tim! I don't have anything lined up quite yet. I still enjoy doing the show. There is still so much more to explore with Rocky. I want to learn as much as I can and make the most of this incredible opportunity. I will continue to audition for projects that interest and challenge me. Thanks for making 'Rocky Horror' your Broadway debut.

Kate asks: How do you feel about wearing your very small costume in Rocky Horror, showing (nearly) everything? You look so great up there. I've been back twice just to see you. Also, what does your day consist of getting ready for a show? Do you go to the gym or relax or what? Finally, what do
you like to do in your downtime?
Sebastian: Working as a dancer in LA for seven years really helps you loose any inhibitions you may have about your body. Ever since I shot the film 'Showgirls' I have felt comfortable dancing in almost anything or almost nothing. When you spend a month and half dancing in a G-string in front of a few hundred extras, it's not such a big deal anymore. Interestingly, I physically worked a lot harder during 'Showgirls' than in I do in 'Rocky Horror' -- we did so much difficult and technical dancing in 'Showgirls'. Unfortunately, most of it ended up on the floor of the editing room. About ninety percent of the jobs I did in LA were gigs that I had to dress sexy and provocatively. My day usually consists of walking my dog, running errands (it always seems like there is something that needs to be done), occasionally auditioning and, of course, going to the gym. When there's time, I try to relax. |
