Sebastian La Cause began his foray into the world of entertainment in Akron, Ohio when he won the role of John Darling, at age 13, in The Goodyear Community Theater production of Peter Pan. He has been hooked ever since. La Cause has been brazenly carving out a name for himself, in New York theater, since the moment he stepped onto the stage at The Shubert Theater, as Roxie Hart’s self-absorbed lover, Fred Casely, in the smash hit revival of Chicago. Even though he was a replacement, his performance left people taking notice. La Cause went on to sing with the incomparable Liza Minnelli in the tribute to her father Vincent, in Minnelli on Minnelli at The Palace Theater, directed by the late Fred Ebb. Next he broke racial barriers when he was cast as Frank n’ Furter’s lovable, blond, man-boy creation, Rocky Horror, in the Tony nominated revival of The Rocky Horror Show at The Circle In The Square Theater. There he shared the stage with heavyweights like Daphne Rubin-Vega, Raul Esparza, Alice Ripley, Tom Hewitt and rock legend, Joan Jett. But none of them could compete with the jaw-dropping La Cause when he revealed his body-a body that has been compared favorably to Michelangelo’s David. La Cause didn’t wear much, and that suited his fans just fine. But onstage La Cause has a dramatic presence that quickly overshadows his physique and proves he is much more than just another pretty face. La Cause proved his versatility in a new play entitled Tooth and Claw with the prestigious Ensemble Studio Theater. There he played, Miguel Mendoza, an ambitious political representative from the Galapagos Islands. His next challenge came in the form of the major-league superstar, Darren Lemming, who outs himself to the public and his team mates in Richard Greenberg’s Tony Award winning drama, Take Me Out, which was extended for four weeks when it made it’s regional debut to critical acclaim at The Caldwell Theatre Company. " Darren Lemming is the type of role that only comes around once in a lifetime”, says La Cause. “ He has so many dimensions and unanswered questions". La Cause also developed new works with Emerging Artists Theatre Company, The Wings Theatre Company and returned to The Ensemble Studio Theatre for their one-act Marathon.

With an array of theatrical experience under his belt he has begun to chip away at roles in television with turns on All My Children, One Life To Live, As The World Turns and Jonny Zero. La Cause is no stranger to film either, with appearances in the Oscar winning Chicago, The Producers, Boogie Nights, Scream II, Eraser, Lord of Illusion, the camp classic Showgirls and the award winning short film Penny Dreadful, where he co-starred with Betsy Palmer.

La Cause found a home at The Michael Howard Studios where he immersed himself in everything from Shepard and Odets, to Shaw and Shakespeare. He studied under the helm of Larry Singer, who guided La Cause with his philosophy of courage, truth and risk taking to develop his technique. He continued his studies in a master class at Terry Schreiber Studios led by Terry Schreiber himself. With Schreiber he began to explore the worlds of Tennessee Williams and Chekhov. La Cause also studied Sanford Misner’s technique with Robert Carnegie at Playhouse West in Los Angeles as well as Shakespeare with Jed Diamond at The Stella Adler Studios in New York.

Perhaps the most refreshing thing about La Cause is his perspective on life's priorities. "Sometimes reaching forward, planning, calculating, we can get so wrapped up in trying to achieve the goals we set for ourselves that we can forget to live in the moment." Striving to live a balanced life, he keeps the philosophical refrain of Rocky Horror in mind, 'Don't Dream it, Be It'.
