Tue - June 22, 2004so who are we really? How often do you do a name search on yourself
only to find that you are out there doing incredible things. I looked up a
friend from highschool only to find not much. I looked up my name and I'm out
there doing some interesting things. If I add the "t" to scot I am even
pitching incredible baseball at the U of A. So many people look at the name as
to the thing that really represents them. Like we are supposed to take this
name that someone gave you and keep it and make it into something. Why? Are we
not more than a name? I guess that depends...some people need the name like
Bush's baked Beans and believe me those beans are baked. I kinda like the idea
of giving names. After all the native peoples here did that....although I'm not
sure if I'd like mine. It would be something like "One who speaks his mind at
the expense of someones elses happiness, but induces laughter" or "One who says
'You should do this", or the obvious "One who drinks too much and becomes the
worlds greatest misunderstood philosopher." Anyway... for those of you who
might read this? Why is it that changing our name is so difficult? After all
Madonna is now Edith. We might not like it, or love it, but we dont' have to
live it. What would your name be if you could change it, or had to change it?
To sum it up, Are we really the name our parents gave
us?
