Grey is a collection of greyscale images taken with the Nikon
Coolpix 950 digital camera. Most of the images were taken in
RGB mode and converted to greyscale in Photoshop, using either
the channel mixing mode to obtain the desired tonal scale or
by converting to LAB mode and using only the Lightness channel.
The latter method provides the cleanest images since most of
the noise is associated with the chrominance channels. The images
presented in the galleries listed below represent a diverse range
of subject matter, but the emphasis is on tonal qualities. |
