Internet Radio's Compatibility Issues

Word is that internet radio and other competing new technologies like satellite radio will one day replace terrestrial radio. While I enjoy an occasional dose of Radio Margaritaville, the 64mbps sound quality and frequent rebuffering grows long in the tooth. Moreover, a recent scan of some of the top internet radio services like MusicMatch, Launch and Spinner revealed Windows-only compatibility.

The "internet radio vs. traditional radio" topic has been beat to death in the popular media. So my intention is not to delve into the details. I'm just simply asking for the services to do a couple of things:

1) Improve the sound quality. The bandwidth should now exist to deliver high quality streams. Let us have near CD-quality audio and you'll find new fans.

2) Acknowledge Apple users. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone uses or enjoys Windows XP. There is a viable market in Apple users that is being left unserved by these new technologies.

Kudos to Live365 for their Mac-compatibility and relatively enjoyable audio quality.

Check out Live365.
