Blogiversary...

Wow, I almost forgot. One year ago today I started this because I bought Hugh's book for my daughter as a graduation gift. I was reading it before I gave it to her. He has a chapter that said something like, "get your thoughts out there, start a blog." I have been on the Internet before there were pictures, but had never heard of weblogs before I found Hugh on the radio. I started with his links. Good stuff. Lots of reading. I found, and bought, iBlog and the linking started. It became a release for my strong feelings about things and I was hooked. Over the last year, I have had fun, made long-distance friends, and found that I am not alone (look over there, on the left, at the Blogroll). It has not always been easy, but fun for sure. You start, just having fun, then you want hits, then you don't care, then you do again. Its a roller-coster, but who doesn't like a roller-coster...

iBlog is nice for a Mac user because it lets you use your .Mac account, so that is what I did. The address is not easy, but I already pay for the server space, so why not use it. I have a domain registered and have thought about switching over, but this has worked fine for my little blog.

I picked ‘Speed of Thought…’ (I almost changed when I googled it and found the Billy Gates is using it for the title of his book on business.) as the title from a conversation I had with a ‘crazy’ person. No, really. One of my jobs about 15 years ago was working as an EMT. The ambulance company I worked for had the VA contract and we occasionally took ‘psychotic’ patients to the Phoenix facility. While in route one time the patient turned to me and ask, “What is the fastest thing in the universe?” I answered light. He said, “Nope, the speed of thought.” Hmmm, interesting, but why? He said, “We came up with the concept of speed and light so our thoughts are faster.” This ‘crazy’ guy was right and I never forgot it.

I hope you have found something of interest during your visit(s) and I hope you will come back.

Year two begins today…
