Oh, Canada...
I am shocked, completely and totally shocked, by
this report:
OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin decided not to sign on to the U.S. missile defense network, despite urging from Washington, because the political risks were too great, a senior official said Wednesday. I'm not really shocked, but I do know why this has happened. We, the U.S., made a mistake about 60 years ago. We saved EUrope and Canada was watching. They saw that if our "friends" are attacked, we will save them and now they don't believe they need to have any defenses. That is why EUrope and Canada keep resisting any defense spending and why they all have small militaries. They know we will save them again. Don't get me wrong, I am glad we saved them, but I think this is one of the reasons that we have problems with our so called "friends" today, when it comes to military matters. Update: Oh Drudge, that is so yesterday's news. He just posted this 27 hours after me:
