The Pope has passed...
FNC and the AP:
VATICAN CITY (AP) -- Pope John Paul II, the Polish pontiff who led the Roman Catholic Church for more than a quarter century and became history's most-traveled pope, has died at 84, the Vatican announced in an e-mail Saturday. Update: The Command Post has a good round-up. Update II: A very nice message on the Pope's passing from The Mesopotamian. Update III: "A Man for All Seasons" Update IV: Flags to half-staff: As a mark of respect for His Holiness Pope John Paul II, I hereby order, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States of America, that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and on all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the federal government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its territories and possessions until sunset on the day of his interment. Update V: Links on the subject that you should see. I really like this picture and article. The DU does what the DU does. Asshats. The media and how they dealing with the Pope' s death. Sad. Beth has a must read. Posted: Saturday - April 02, 2005 at 13:02 |
