Blog-storm...

I have never seen this before. I have had, over the last year, little spikes in my hits. It is fun to see, but this is crazy. Everybody is getting slammed as Andrew says:

A BLOG JOLT: In the blogosphere, we are sometimes in tune with national moods. My gut tells me that the Nick Berg video has had much more psychic impact in this country than the Abu Ghraib horrors. I even notice some small evidence for this. Every political blog site has just seen an exponential jump in traffic - far more than anything that occurred during the Abu Ghraib unfolding. My traffic went through the roof yesterday, and, according to Alexa, so did everyone else's. People who have tuned the war out suddenly tuned the war in. They get it. Will the mainstream media?

Glenn commented on it and Paul's take is very interesting. Go read Paul's take (if you can, Wizbang is really slow)...

To put my link back up or not? Hmmm, Not sure?

Oh, just in case your curious, have a look at this little chart:

You should know that I have no counter on the page most people are hitting first, so I have no idea how many people have hit it. I only commented once, that I had the video, in a post at Wizbang (which is so slow right now that I can't even link the comment). One comment and all this traffic! This video has sparked interest, that is for sure, but what are the motivations of this interest? Is it a statement that the media isn't doing their job, that people really want to see what these animals did to one of US or is it just some sick interest in a horrible, brutal murder? I hope the first, but...

Update: Kevin has more thoughts on the subject and so does Glenn.

Update II: Wizbang has list of sites that have the video.

Update III (this one is growing as folks comment): Andrew has a very interesting email that I totally agree with, go read it. Here is more. Kate is getting hit also. ASV reminds US what this is all about, a must read. Nope, the media is not biased, not at all. Check out Wizbang's traffic chart, well their hosting companies chart. Wind Rider has the video and some comments about it.
