Backcountry Conservative has a report that Cpl. Hassoun is safe and in Lebanon. Lets hope.

Update: Wizbang is also on the story.

Update II (1452 MST): Okay I give, now this story says he hasn't called and is not in Lebanon... *sigh*

Update III (2032 MST): I have been saying from the beginning of this story that something was 'fishy' (here, here and here) and now MSNBC reports some interesting details like, "his kidnapping may be part of an elaborate hoax." Hmmmm. (via Florida Cracker)

Sorta Update (2246 MST): ABCnews's World RSS feed just came up with the story from Saturday about the murder of the Marine, the weirdness of this story continues.

Update IV (Jul 8, 0101 MST): Basically, NO ONE knows anything, based on this story. Headline pretends to offer more, but story really doesn't, tomorrow, er, later today, will tell. Again, like this morning, lets hope.
