Herr Santi
Once again I fell victim to my name ;-)
I had this fun saturday in may, where I participated
as a dummy in a triage training: people getting more or less lethal fake wounds,
simulating their best, doctors or paramedics running around trying to deal with
it. It's to check how efficient and appropriate the medical staff can estimate
and deal with a flood of injured people in an exceptional situation like after a
mass accident. Categorizing them after seriousness and such with only a minute
and a half (or so) for each patient.
Anyway,
we all got a letter from the president of the german association for
"Katastrophenschutz" (desaster protection...?) expressing his appreciation of
the voluntary participation. Addressed to Mr Bunjamin, as usual. I should have
collected all the versions of addresses I received in the past - Herrn Benjamin
Santi, Sonti Benjamin... when I was seven and hospitalised for an eye correction
operation, the nurses thought Bunjamin was the female version of Benjamin, thus
I was called Bunjamin for the whole durance of my stay there and my mother was
called Mrs Santi. Heh! I think it's funny - I'm laughing every time I get a new
version. Just keep them coming!
