Animal documentary on MDR

Don't misunderstand me. I love animal- and other nature-documentaries. But this one - Hungry, anyone?

Seen today, 15.20 on MDR: " Wilde Zeiten in den Rocky Mountains" (6/6) - Das Frühjahr der Bisons - Sechsteiliger Film von Frédéric Lepage. They publish the commentary word by word for some scenes, i.e. for this one (just heard it, couldn't believe it):

Okay, i get the point. Afterbirth has to be eaten by wild animals to avoid attracting enemies/hunters. But... "Attracted by the smell of the Placenta, also another female feels appetite. The mother hurries with the meal " ?!?
And the female speaker said it with a tone that should possibly emphasize on the "wonder" of nature, Yes, that's how it is. And it is so right! I must have it too! I don't doubt the truth of the facts. I don't even mind too much that directly after this scene they zoom in on another bison or rather it's fly-covered corpse, blown up, with two small, also fly-covered legs sticking out at the back end and say that unfortunately not all can expend that strength (to give birth). No, fine with me! But they could make the text sound less absurd, and more scientific. I don't think there's too much about appetite in this situation, rather are all these behaviours led by instinct! And that IS in fact a wonderful mechanism in nature.
Anyway, their diction really sounds as if it would be a delicacy! And as if the animals would tear themselves to get a piece of it! ... Think further... Imagine this in a human hospital, in front of the "Kreissaal (where babies are born) - a crowd of women, looking insane and greedily reaching out with their arms, being held back with trouble by bulky bodyguards - "I smell . . . Placenta! Rrahhh!"
Igitt. Bäh! Disgusting!

"I am so hungry... I need a MacPlacenta meal, extra large fries and soft drink, please!"
