Max, das Tier!

As every year, the Grand Prix d'Eurovision de la Chanson, is approaching again - next week I believe. Hence musician and TV host Stefan Raab (TV Total, Pro 7) felt the itch to contribute to it in one or the other way. This year he's trying to send a singer to the german preliminary decision.
It seemingly started as a mere parody reaction to DSDS (Deutschland sucht den Superstar), when Stefan announced his own search for a german singing talent, with the initiative SSDSPGS (Stefan sucht den Super Grand Prix Star). Admittedly, the idea is hilarious, nicely pointing out the fact that in the last years everything has been reduced to putatively smart abbreviations. By now, it has developed into a full blown contest with surprisingly good singers around, all everyday-guys. I guess the huge advantages are that the mocking and torment are lacking - usually the judges and trainers are really hard on the contestants (err... is it right or does it have to be "...hard to...", this time I don't intend to raise sexual associations)

For the ones who managed to escape his past sins, Stefan Raab took part in the Grand Prix some years ago, dressed up in a 70's silver-golden sparkly suit with the song "Wadde hadde dudde da". Didn't win, of course.
Today it's not about him, it's about the three remaining singers, two girls and a guy. He is the one I want to mention. Max, his name, or better Maximilian from Waldshut. He is not looking very impressive, but his whole performing appearance is so that he won't slip out of your memory once you've seen him. "Max, das Tier" they say. Funny and a bit true. Max carries an unibrow (needs some plucking of eybrow hairs above his nose), and I guess he does so to divert from his wry front teeth. Honestly I don't mean it as mean as it may sound, he's really okay, and I think he would be ideal to represent germany in the Grand Prix. They call him the animal, and this is because he really freaks out to some extend when he's singing. His mimic and gestures, the nearly shouting makes it easy to memorize this guy! Especially as he starts nice and moderate, just to explode further doen the lines. Makes a good effect.
He will amaze all viewers who hold the cliche of german people being conservative and starched! Yay for Max!

Just watching live... he won! ^_^ Congrats.

"Can't wait until tonight" is the song, written by Stefan Raab especially for this occasion. According to the official Grand Prix preliminary's rules, Max' record will have to get into the charts within a week from now. Hope he makes it, but it's quite unsure to estimate now.
Go, Max, Go! Save germany's honor and show them we are all animals ... err... 0_o ... as long as we get away from the fortright- starched image, the purpose sanctifies the means :)
