new police tactics
That the 1st may riots were less grave than in the
past years is apparently due to new police tactics.
A speaker confirmed they had put emphasis on
prevention rather than the usual purely defensive actions. He said that the
police had brought officers specially educated in social skills. Whenever a
group of youths had been spotted, one of the "social officers" had gone over to
them and declared to stay there for the rest of the
day.
Hehe, I can imagine it really turns you off when you're hanging out with your buddies trying to heat yourselves up for some troublemaking and then an "eco-Cop" comes by and starts prattling. Uh oh, serious mood killer!
