RIPTA threatens to cut Bus #64 ---the
Newport/URI service---among others. According to the Newport Daily News article
:
Those upset with the proposed loss of public transportation will have an opportunity to express their concerns Thursday [September 9, 2004]. RIPTA plans to hold public hearings from noon-2 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the City Council chambers at City Hall. A third meeting, although not technically an official public hearing, will take place at the Newport Police Station at 2 p.m., to accommodate those with disabilities who have difficulty accessing City Hall.
