Spring 2006 Semester Begins
The winter break (inter-session) ended yesterday
at Salve Regina University with the opening of the Spring 2006 semester. It was
a very busy, but pleasant break from classes. It seemed to pass very quickly,
however, possibly because as I get older that fixed amount of time (4 weeks)
accounts for an increasingly smaller percentage of my age. I spent much of the
"break" working on course preparation and on a project that I'll have more to
say about in the future. Aside from work, I had the great pleasure of meeting
my cousins from Puerto Rico when they visited us for a couple of days in late
December. What wonderful people! I actually managed to start exercising, after
about 2 years of virtually no exercise at all. I'm actually quite pleased with
my progress in the three weeks since I returned to my workouts. It will be a
challenge to find time to continue this during the semester, but I will do it.
At any rate, since my three classes
meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I already met each class yesterday. With three
preparations, administrative duties, advising, committee work, and a scholarly
project (that should be completed by June), this is going to be one very busy
but exciting semester.
As I did last
semester, I'll try to post updates here related to my courses. These may
include tips and tricks, clarifications, solutions to problems, and
announcements. That's my plan anyway.
