REQUIREMENTS
TOWN OF LENOX VETERANS WW II
MEMORIAL
The Town of Lenox Veterans Memorial, which will be built in
the village of Canastota, NY, will honor all veterans who
served honorably during World War II.
The names of over 700 men and women who left their homes,
farms and families to fight a global war, on two (2) ocean
fronts, will adorn the panels of this beautiful granite
monument.
The criteria for having a name engraved on this memorial
are:
The individual must have served honorably in the armed
forces during World War II.
He or she, must have resided within the Canastota, NY
School District at the time of their entry into the
service.
Residents whose Home of Record, and/or lived within the
school district for 50 or more years, and are veterans of
World War II, will be eligible to have their names added to
the list.
They must mail a copy of their discharge papers to: Jack W.
Rogers,
115 Belleview Dr., Canastota, NY 13032. The names of those
who are deemed eligible will be subject to the approval of
a Veterans Committee, and will be advised if their names
will be accepted. Deadline for having additional names
approved is July 30, 2005.
After that date, veterans who believe they are eligible to
have their names added, will be determined by the same
guidelines as above by a Veterans Committee.
DONATIONS
A fund raising appeal is underway to raise $100,000 for
this project. Anyone wishing to help in this most worthy
cause, to honor “The World’s Greatest
Generation”, can do so by writing a check,
