Breck Biking, June 2002

Here are a few photos from riding in Breck June 21-23 2002. Even though the town was very busy, these trails were empty. I believe most people go there to ride the paved bike paths. Not me!

Here is one of my favorite views looking back riding up Pennsylvania Creek towards the secret Mt. Argentine trail:

The Invisible Biker crosses a bridge. Haze from the forest fires was visible when in the open like here near the Spruce Creek trail (after having just completed the Burro trail). They reported this was as bad as Breck ever gets.

There was an obvious turn-around point on the trail to avoid a steep descent. But, I wanted to see where it went so I kept going. Around the corner was a nice view of Quandry Peak in the haze (a 14'er).

A fixer-upper with stream. This was on the jeep road I rode down after hitting the end of the Wheeler trail.

A portion of the view looking north from Mt. Argentine which I rode on the 23rd. The view is like this in all directions. Breckenridge is below. From here, fasten your seatbelts for the descent and keep all hands and feet attached to your bike at all times.
