Panther is cool, but...Mac OS X 10.3 is cool but it is amazing
that something very basic was not fixed before release...
According to several of the people I talked to at
the O'Reilly Mac
OS X conference Mac OS X 10.3 was released with a bug that caused
attached firewire drives to be unreadable after restart if they were left
attached to a Mac running Panther. According to what I was told the data on
these drives was unreadable. I believe if this is true this is
inexcusable!
This is not the first time Apple has had serious problems with released products. It was not very long ago the Mac OS X 10.2.8 patch had to be pulled because it rendered many machines unable to communicate on 10BT LANs. As my father used to say, "if it is worth doing, it is worth doing right!" Posted: Thu - October 30, 2003 at 05:57 PM |
