Pride
How’s this for pride going before the fall?
Video
Here’s the family video gallery, on-line at my .Mac page.
- 2004 Champlain - a 90 second slide show of our sailing trip to Lake Champlain.
- 2004 Prom and Circumstance - a 60 second film, shot with a digital camera of Hannah and her friends
getting ready for the Junior Prom.
- 2003 Tortola. This is a 20-minute movie, broken into 3 segments to make it possible to watch over the internet:
Part 1 (Overture, Travel, The Apartment, Windsurfing),
Part 2 (Deadman, Festival, Diving),
Part 3 (Sailing, Departure, Finale).
- Images 2003. This is a 3-minute mixture of stills and video.
- 2002 Holiday Greetings. This is a 2:20 film about family togetherness. Or something.
- The Buccaneer Promo. 10 minutes of thrills and chills with Buccanneer sailboats.

Moving the pictures from this web site to the .Mac environment
took exactly this much work.
- Open my iDisk. This is web-based disk storage on mac.com with a client named iDisk on each Macintosh.
- Run iPhoto to organize my pictures. I dropped all my old pictures into iPhoto from various
directories. Scanned images are dropped into iPhoto, also.
New pictures go straight to iPhoto when I plug a camera into the USB port. My Sony-Ericsson T616
phone, however, uses a Bluetooth browser to get pictures and save them to a folder; from there I drop them into
iPhoto.
- Click the Share button, click the Home Page button. Pick frames, add some text. It uploads the
pictures and the .HTML and everything.
- Using Safari, go to the .Mac page to dress up the menu.
All done! All that’s left is to pay the annual service fee for the .Mac
web site. This is a simple and elegant web construction environment, seamlessly tied to my desktop via
Apple’s iLife software suite.
