Cazenovia College Business Club Constitution
Purpose The purpose of the Cazenovia College Business Club is to provide all members with the opportunity to enhance their understanding of business careers, practices, and decisions through various different events, forums, and hands on activities.
Membership
Membership Requirements
Each member should be able to attend each meeting, as well as all events.
Each member should be able and willing to contribute ideas in order to help the progression of the club.
Membership is open to all students, regardless of area of study or major.
This organization does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, personal appearance, age, national origin, political affiliation, physical or mental disability, or on the basis of rights secured by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.

Duties of officers
The President’s (CEO) duties shall be to preside at all meetings, to appoint special committees and to be the chairperson of the board of director’s.
The Executive Vice President shall perform the duties of the President in his/her absence. In the event of vacancy of the presidency, the Executive Vice President shall succeed the presidency. He/she shall perform additional duties as the President shall delegate.
The Treasurer shall be responsible for making all necessary expenditures when authorized by the President and Faculty Advisor, keeping financial records, and will submit a written financial report to the club at the last regular meeting of the semester. He/she will perform such related duties as the President shall delegate.
The Secretary shall keep all records, except financial, handle written correspondence, perform such other related duties as the CEO/President delegates, and prepare a written report of each meeting which will be read at the next meeting.
Faculty Advisor
1.) The administration of the college shall appoint a faculty advisor who will be the personal representative of the administration. The faculty advisor must be a member of the Business Administration Faculty, appoint by the Chairperson of the Business Administration Department. The advisor will serve for at least one full school year.
Election of Officers
Election of club officials will be held at the beginning of each school year within the first few meetings for all positions other than the president. The president will be appointed.
Meetings
1.) Meetings will be held each Thursday night at 9pm in the Harden Room.
Activities
Trip to New York City and its business landmarks
Seminar with the Cazenovia Chamber of Commerce
Speaker, Bob Hood, a local commercial real estate developer who owns Common Grounds and the new additions to downtown Cazenovia
Community Service Project- Meet with Cazenovia Mayor to organize a project and/or help a local business.
Host Chamber of Commerce Social Party
Golf Tournament Fundraiser with local sponsors and celebrities
Business workshops to develop business ideas and strategies
Guest speaker(s) business Alumni
Guest speaker lawyer to discuss the legalities of starting a company
Amendments
The Constitution may be amended by a majority vote of the member present, with proper notification having first been given to the entire membership.

The Constitution will be reviewed annually to ensure that it is in keeping with the needs and activities of the club.
The number, location and times of meetings shall be determined by the Board of Directors..
Adherence to Policies
The Cazenovia College Business Club will adhere to all College rules, regulations and policies.
