Apparently It's Hot Where You Are

We are sitting in what I believe is known as a back door cold front. It didn't really break 70 here yesterday. I'm thrilled to be cold.

I realize that by bringing this up the cold front will shift the few miles it needs to shift and the fires of hell that the rest of you are enjoying will come engulf me.

I have been busy.

Ravenclaw Jaywalkers are done and little accessories to go with have been bought. Note to etsy sellers: if you're going to charge me two dollars to ship a four dollar stitch marker which weighs about an eighth of an ounce and is about the size of my small toenail, and said stitch marker is in the shape of an insect and is made of fimo and contains adorable small details like, oh I don't know, WINGS, maybe, please be so kind as to wrap it in a wee piece of bubble wrap so that its adorable small details arrive intact. 'K?

Pattern: Jaywalker Yarn: Van Calcar Acres Flock Sock in Ravenclaw book colorway from Woolgirl. This yarn feels so soft and nice and I think Jaywalker was a good pattern for the way the stripes were dyed. However, the yarn was so soft that I think it puckered a little more than something stiffer would have in this pattern because the patterned part of the Jaywalkers pulls in so much more than the non patterned part. Does that make sense? Anyway, these are off to my Hogwarts pal.

Embossed Leaves are done.

Pattern: Embossed Leaves from Interweave Knits Favorite Socks Yarn: Curious Yarns in Sprung from Emma. I love this pattern, I love this yarn, I will be making more Leaves soon. (They knit very fast, too.)

Icarus has had some attention.

After all of these lace socks Icarus is suddenly a lot easier.

I went shopping

Baby Ull for a baby sweater for someone I work with. I actually taught her to knit about ten years ago when I worked part time at a knitting store and taught knitting classes at night so I wanted to make her something nice.

Three guesses on what this is for. The first two don't count. Yes I am a little behind but I will probably start today. I don't know anything about the yarn but it is soft and it was right there at the store. The store, by the way, is Cranberry Fibre Arts in Hamilton. Very nice people and good selection so stop by if you're north.

The garden has been working hard too.

The astilbe is showing off.

Some wee little Brandywines.
