Slowly the Boxes Empty

I am never moving again.

On the other hand there are wonderful parts:

1. The house is beautiful. It's sunny and has high ceilings and big windows. We have a small back yard and a large side yard and the big open side yard is on the south side of the house so we get lots of sun on that side. There are lots of plants and every day something new comes up or blooms. Today it was forsythia. I found a lavender plant, apparently there is a lilac and lots of daffodils and irises and tulips are poking up. We had some crocuses last week though some of them froze. Our neighbors have a flower bed between our house and theirs and it was full of purple and white crocuses last week and into this. Hundreds of them. Now I see tulips coming up there. Some of our garden looks a little too pruned; I think the previous owner missed the "blooms on last years' growth" idea for some of them but they'll recover.

2. We got home from work last night and went to the beach.

3. Now that the monsoons are over the weather is beautiful.

4. We have a fireplace which was very handy last week when we had no power (monsoons).

5. Eli says his new school is "the best school ever." I'm glad he is happy because the last day at his old school was wrenching for all of us including the staff. Eli was probably the least stressed over it. Unpacking his old school uniforms almost put me over the edge. However, we never have to have another morning where he spills his milk all over his only clean uniform shirt and mommy has to be peeled off the ceiling.

6. The cats love the stairs, the sunporch, and all the windows. They are hanging out upstairs mostly.

Pictures later--I can't find the camera right now or the cable to plug it in to the computer but later you can help me with plant identification.

PS I have done little knitting but I did order some yarn from Woolgirl and it's beautiful. It's Whatnot Sock from Union Center Knits in Green Jeans and Pumpkin and came with stitch markers and butterfly stickers and gift labels. Go visit, Woolgirl has some great stuff.
