Herbert Myers

Herbert Myers is lecturer in Early Winds at Stanford University, from which he holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Performance Practices of Early Music. As a member of the Concert Ensemble of the New York Pro Musica from 1970 to 1973 he toured extensively throughout North and South America, performing on a variety of early winds and strings. He has taught at numerous summer workshops in the U.S. and Canada. As an expert in the history of musical instruments, he is well known through reviews and articles contributed to Early Music, The American Recorder, Historical Performance, and other journals. At Stanford he is curator of the Harry R. Lange Collection of Musical Instruments.
