Felicia & Adam -- February 17, 2006

So I have been on a bit of a blogging hiatus -- A lot going on between Thanksgiving and now... I will recap some of the highlights soon, but in the meantime, I want to make sure to post about a great wedding I shot for Felicia and Adam in February.

Felicia is the sister of one of my favorite grooms, Romeo. I just loved shooting Romeo and Jill's Wedding back in 2005 and it is great to have a sort of instant familiarity with the families. Also, it doesn't hurt that Felicia and Adam are also just fantastic together...They are are so in love and so, SO incredibly happy together that you can't help but be in love with THEM when you see them together.

It was a cold and snowy day here in Chicago, but I love how excited Adam looks as he enters Old St. Pat's .

I also love this moment with Felicia and the priest, when he came down to the bridal room to check on her.

The ring bearer and flower girl were so sweet...

I love that whatever nervousness Felicia may have been feeling, it was over shadowed by how excited she was to see Adam at the end of the aisle.

I love this shot of the flower girl as the priest raised the host.

The recessional is always one of my favorite moments, but Felicia and Adam simply couldn't wait to get to the end of the aisle to embrace again and I love that they just did it right there!

In the limo, right after the ceremony!

How awesome to have a husband who gives foot rubs as the first order of business!

They say in Chicago if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes. This again proved to be the case as after the ceremony...

(This is, of course, extremely misleading because while we were in a location with palm trees and sunshine, it wasn't exactly balmy out. We were at one of my favorite natural light indoor locations -- the Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier. It is a fantastic winter garden, encased in glass, with all kinds of trees and such growing inside, tons of space and glorious light everywhere. When people ask me, "what if it rains?" this is in variably one of my back up options!)

Also, Navy Pier is a great place to shoot -- not for the touristy attractions, but for the bold colors and general kitsch of amusement parks.

I also had some great moments with Felicia and Adam and their wedding party...

And some incredible shots of Felicia, who looked radiant!!

That evening we headed back to the Hotel Allegro for a beautiful reception. The ballroom was an explosion of beautiful fuchsia linens supplied by Carousel Linen.

I love this first dance shot...

And this amazing moment of intimacy as they listened to the beautiful toasts made by their family and friends.

I also adore this moment with Felicia and her father dancing and her mother and brother, Romeo, looking on...

Finally I have to mention how awesome their band, Maggie Speaks, was... They turned out a great party and everyone had a blast!
