Traci & Joe - Sophistication and Elegance at the Drake - November 4, 2006

I have been a bad blogger. But this entry will more than make up for it. Sit back because there are a LOT of pictures!

Traci and Joe and I hit is off right away. They are a great couple who are so well suited for each other, each complementing the others strengths and weaknesses. For example, one of the things they will tell you about themselves and you notice from the get-go: Joe is the big picture guy and Traci is all about the execution. Together they were able to produce a wedding that was truly indicative of the kind of love and emotion that they share. And it was truly beautiful. I am telling you, if they decide to start a company together, buy stock. It is going places!

I also wanted to mention what a pleasure it was to work for the first time with Lisa Zimbler, Traci and Joe's awesome coordinator. She was so good at making everything run smoothly and quickly, effortlessly dealing with mishaps (like when Traci discovered that the seamstress hadn't sewed a bustle in her dress, Lisa sewed one in on the spot!)

Anyway, I started the day by meeting up with Traci and her mom and her bridesmaids in the Presidential Suite at the Drake Hotel before the ceremony. They were all totally relaxed and having a few drinks and a few laughs!

Traci, of course, looked beautiful... Amazingly elegant, reminiscent of Jackie O...

I have to give mad props to one of my favorite florists of all time, Amy Crum, from Blumen Design. Her work just blows me away. The attention to detail and the creativity are just breathtaking.

The bouquets...

And the crystal tree...

And from the ceremony set up in the Gold Coast Room...

The ceremony music was beautiful...

After the ceremony...

...We went out onto the street for a few minutes...

...and got some of my favorite shots of the night!

But it was really cold and the wind was kicking up something fierce! Traci's veil blew off but fortunately, Joe's head managed to catch it in the nick of time!

After a bit of re-primping, we got some lovely shots indoor of the two of them together...

I love this stolen kiss shot right before they were announced by the band leader. (Which btw, Underwater People is a ROCKIN' band!)

The toasts and blessings were really lovely and very emotional...

When Joe sang Traci's favorite song...

There was not a dry eye in the house.

Seriously... not a single one!

And finally, any night that ends with chocolate from Ethel M is a very good thing...

Traci & Joe,

What an amazing night and an amazing adventure you are on! It has been such a pleasure to know you both and I thank you for inviting me into this incredibly special moment of your lives.

xoxo
