Farah & Michael - Doctors in Love in Indianapolis - September 16, 2006

I couldn't love Farah and Michael more. They are just phenomenal. I am so glad that coordinator Glenn Griffith referred them to me and that I got a chance to work with Glenn again!

Their wedding was just like them -- lovely and elegant and refined, yet down to earth and genuine. And I don't think I have had any clients ever who have smiled more. I mean they are just so in love and so unbelievably right for each other that they couldn't contain their excitement.

We started as we often do, with the bride getting ready. Here is Farah getting in her dress...

I love this shot as we left for the church...

Farah looked so stunning that day it was hard to believe early that week she had been pulling all-nighters in her residency program...

Michael and his best man minutes before the ceremony...

And Farah and her girls turning a few heads...

I have seen everything under the sun with little kids. Kids bawling all the way down the aisle. Kids refusing to go. One little boy made it half way, turned, and ran back. But not this boy! He worked the crowd so good you would swear he is on the ballot in November. By the time he got to end of the aisle, he had them eating out of the palm of his hand (and probably half a million dollars in campaign contributions!)

Farah's Cathedral length veil was amazing.

I love that even while tearing up coming down the aisle, Farah was laughing through her tears...

Don't you love how absolutely giddy Michael is when he sees her?

Afterwards, we went with the whole bridal party all around Indianapolis. I have only been to Indy once (for the Indy 500)... this was a much different experience! Indy has some really great spots for photos and we had plenty of time between the ceremony to play.

It is also SO great when a couple is totally willing to play and take risks and not worry about getting anything dirty or wrinkled! I try to remind the couple that the ones who are willing to get a little dirty get the BEST pictures, but Farah was one step ahead of me, declaring as she and Michael ran down the street, "When the heck am I ever going to wear this thing again?"

One of my favorite things about shooting weddings is that you can pretty much go anywhere and do anything because you are with a girl in a white dress and who is going to tell a bride "No" on her wedding day? Here we literally stopped all the traffic at the circle roundabout in front of the Capitol.

I also have to say that Michael and Farah's bridal party was a blast to hang out with. I especially liked Gordon... ;-)

OK, she's a knockout. She's a doctor. And she can hang with the boys. Did Michael score big or what?

OK, he's a total babe. He's a doctor. And he's got mad vertical game. Did Farah score big or what?

We made one last stop at the medical school where they met...

I would, of course, be remiss if I didn't highlight some of the amazing details that Glenn Griffith, the Conrad staff and the gang at Detail and Design did with the reception.

The crystal tree by the seating cards was beautiful...

And fit perfectly with the amazing crystal decor in the Conrad ballroom.

The ballroom was an explosion of color, unlike anything I have ever seen!

And the gold accents made it feel like you had found the end of the rainbow!

Farah and Michael -- You guys are just amazing... knowing you both and getting to share this with you has been one of the highlights of my year. My love, best wishes and most heartfelt gratitude to you always.

xoxo
