Sharon & Andre - The Conrad Hilton - September 9, 2006

So this was a really busy weekend! My first wedding was at the Conrad Hilton in Chicago with Sharon and Andre - very cool new venue. Also very cool that I got to work with Jen Degler again who was their day of coordinator and is a total sweetheart!

Sharon and Andre are a really great couple. They have an amazing bond -- a deep intimacy that is quiet, reverent and real.

Sharon looking totally gorgeous...

Sharon and Andre also had a great wedding party -- A group of friends so close that they ALL gave beautiful toasts at the wedding, instead of just the maid of honor and best man.

I love the motion of this shot as we arrived back at the Hotel...

Sharon is quite crafty -- literally! She made a ton of the awesome details, including the aisle runner...

The chair covers...

And the ceremony flower arrangements!

The flower girl was a total ham, getting her "vogue" on at the drop of a hat!

The ceremony was probably one of the most personalized I have seen -- Sharon and Andre wrote their own heartfelt vows and the emotion was palpable in the room...

Sharon made the cake and the champagne flutes too... (OK, just kidding! But wouldn't that be cool if, in addition to knowing how to sew, arrange flowers and make chair covers, Sharon also knew how to blow glass and whip up a mean fondant? ;-)

I love the sweets tables that have take home bags!

The first dance is often one of my favorite moments. I love the emotion in this one.

Congratulations, you two. It has been such a pleasure to know you both!!

xoxo

ETA: Sharon informed me that I may have oversold her talents a bit on the chair covers and the flowers -- turns out someone else did those. However making the aisle runner is still pretty cool!! (If I made one, I would end up making it with an iron on patch!)
