Ronald K. Pendleton
Philosophy & Professional Pledge

I practice competency based education and maintain that
instructors have a basic responsibility to clearly stipulate what
students should be able to do as a result of instruction.

I believe that the process of education should be worthwhile
and enjoyable for both students and instructors.

I strive to be Warrior, Philosopher and Poet.

I advocate Steven Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
and follow Andrew Weil's recommendations for Healthy Aging.

I encourage everyone to read as much and as widely as possible
(see "Dr. Pendleton's Recommended Readings").

I support the AVA Code of Ethics,
George Lenords concepts of Mastery
and make the following Professional Pledge.

All the rest is pretty well summed up by Rudyard Kipling's poem  If .
