Situational
Support Consultation requested by the Roxbury Congregational Church, UCC
Note: This Situational Support Consultation
was requested by a vote of the members of the Roxbury Church at a special
meeting of the congregation held on June 9, 2009, because of conflict in the
church. Refer to UCC Manual
on Ministry, Section 8, pp. 23-26 for a summary of the
SSC process.
Here
is the proposed plan of action for the Committee to consider at its regular
meeting on June 18:
1. LSA CCM
appoints
a. A subcommittee (chair + 2 members +Regional Minister) to work
directly with Roxbury Church.
b. Support persons for
each: Congregation and pastors.
2.
Subcommittee interviews key church leaders, possibly but not limited to:

Pastor
-
Associate Pastor
-
Chair of Deacons
-
Moderator
-
Chair of Trustees
-
Chair of Pastoral Relations
-
Others as identified by the Roxbury Church "communications team"
[Note: Some of
these may be group interviews]
3.
Subcommittee reviews any correspondence received (by July 15 2009) from
church members and conducts interviews as necessary.
4.
Subcommittee develops proposed "plan of action" for next
steps.
5.
Subcommittee reviews proposed plan of action with:
- Entire CCM on August 20, 2009
- Roxbury Clergy by September 1, 2009
- Roxbury Church leaders (as warranted)
By September 1, 2009
- Membership of Roxbury Church.
By September 1, 2009
The five person Roxbury Communications Team may help to coordinate interview appointments for the CCM .
