	MIER (Machine Information + Error Reporting) is the most proficient solution to gaining vital troubleshooting information for either an error in your application or customer request. MIER combines several powerful objects that improve your application in a variety of ways. Track down problems & errors in non-test scenarios. Increase customer confidence in your product. Improve stability, reliability and the sale-ability of your product. Detect hardware and software configuration. Crash Detection, with automated reporting (Mac OS X only). Streamlines the Error reporting & Feedback process for the end user (requires a minimum of two mouse clicks only). Built in Unsanity checking allowing you and the customer to detect if their system has been compromised. The MI or Machine Information part of the project, allows you application to gain vital machine information (if available), Operating System Version, Installed Memory, Processor Architecture, Quicktime & Windows Media Player Information, Serial Number, Processor Speed, Machine Name (iMac), Computer's Name (Steve's iMac), Machine Model, User Name (Steve), Language and GMT Offset. The ER or Error Reporting part of the project not only capture as much information at the time of an error or crash, but it also allows for the developer ton include simple debug points. For instance the Stack Trace will tell you which function crashed and what called it, but it is not able to tell where in the function it crashed. Simple add check points. The reporting part not only allows the end user to include a comment or description, but also to attach a file to the report. The report is then posted to a php script (included but requires modification), which then will forward the report to you via e-mail. Version 1.5 of the MIER adds the following features Separate Progress Dialog Sheet. Re-written to use PHP bypassing some ISP's port 25 blocking. Improved the Unsanity Checking. Added IsOSXLeopard, IsOSXTiger, IsWindowsXP & IsWindowsVista methods. The System Version checking now conforms to Apple's Mac OS X guidelines, no longer uses Gestalt and gets correct version (including build number) on Mac OS X 10.4.11 Now able to correctly determine which package of Vista i.e. Home Premium. Added workaround for the REALBasic bug that was causing the Browse button to crash in the Error Reporter. Report Sender now uses a proper Mac OS X splitter, not a custom drawn one.
